    This is the one of the clearest and most succinct explanations I've seen of this concept. Great stuff, keep it coming!

      As a day one shooter, I got nothing from this at all. Starting off w terms like g1 value might as well have been speaking Cantonese .

    When we shoot ELR at Spearpoint, we ask each other "what wind speed were you holding for?" And usually get a mph response.

    Great information in this video, as well as your first video. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us. Your follow-up question is food for thought. I personally have never timed myself from the carry position to first round being shot. But now I'm going to just to find out.

    Thank you... Mr. Way is on point again... as per how quickly can I deploy my junk.... Ummm. pending which gear I have on, anywhere from 30 seconds to the other PRS gear, 10 minutes...which is likely horrible.. but, I am an old man these days... Thank you for the heads up on the clean wind chart.. It is very sharp lined and clean.. I really like that chart. Thank you guys.

    This is one of those times when lower _MPH gun number_ is, in general, sexier.

    If you had a 6MPH gun at 600 yards would you not be holding 1.2 mils at 600 yards?
    The example states a 12mph wind at 600 on a 10” plate.
    If you have .6 gun at 600 yards how are you holding .6 at 12 mph at 600 yards.

    So shooting 7prc, you have G1 BC of .689, you have around a 7mph gun?
    Then at 689 yards you would hold .5 moa for every mph of wind? (Assuming it’s full value wind, 3 O’clock left to right)
    Trying to figure this out. Thanks for the video.

      Yes, 7PRC, 7MPH, In MOA it's a bit different, the Mils number would be between .6 or .7 of wind depending how you rounded it. .6 Mils x3.43 would be 2 MOA of wind converting it, Mils and MOA numbers don't work the same, get rid of MOA and use Mils way easier math for wind, the MOA wind numbers suck, look up the British Method to do it easier in MOA but Mils the Gun Number is way easier, 7 MPH gun is .7 Wind Hold at 700 yards, .6 at 600, .5 at 500

      Awesome, rewatched it and your explanation was spot on. Now I think I have to get a mil scope 😂 Thanks for the reply.

    How do I calculate my rifle wind number?

    • @SHLowlight
      @SHLowlight  2 месяца назад +1

      1st number in your bullet's G 1 BC is your gun number, why we used G1 for 80 years it has information G7 doesn't inside. first number of the bullet's BC is the gun number

    Granted I'm not part of the precision rifle community but this seems sort of ridiculous.
    If it's based on the BC of the bullet then your rifle would be a 5mph rifle with one bullet and a 4mph with another, 6mph with another etc right?
    How is this practical? Especially when it only correlates to a specific wind velocity?

    • @SHLowlight
      @SHLowlight  2 года назад

      It’s simple why do you think we used G1 for 80 years it’s math the BC has value for a reason every bullet is different why do you think we are more accurate now?

    So your gun number is based off your BC round??!

    • @SHLowlight
      @SHLowlight  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, first number of G1 BC is wind drift per .1 per 100 yds. 200fps change moves it up or down .1 and 4000ft DA
