RESERVOIR DOGS Facts You Didn't Know!

- In Reservoir Dogs, the budget was so low that they had to get creative with the wardrobe. They basically told the actors to raid their own closets for clothing, resulting in Chris Penn rocking a track jacket like he's about to go for a run instead of being part of a heist. Luckily, the designer of the signature black suits was a fan of crime films and donated them for free. But not all the actors were so lucky, Steve Buscemi had to make do with his own black jeans instead of proper suit pants, and Michael Madsen ended up looking like he got dressed in the dark, wearing a jacket and pants from two different suits. And to make matters worse, they couldn't afford police assistance for traffic control, which meant that Steve Buscemi had to wait for green lights before stealing a car. So much for being a professional criminal! #shorts #reservoirdogs #didyouknow #moviefacts #moviedetails #quentintarantino

Chris penn could not have rocked that outfit any harder. It was iconic
It fit his whole character being daddy’s son
@@Mohamadthemanit totally did
Fits the young mob boss character
Video creator clearly doesn't understand the difference between warm-up jacket worn by athletes versus the ones by certain types of criminals.
It was the 90s bro, athletic wear used to be either really small and short or it was baggy
@@nicholassorto1861 gee you're so insightful and I'm so dumb except that I was an actual athlete in the 90s. Re-read my comment... There's a big difference between the Nike fashion jackets and actual athletic wear.
@@a1aprospects470get him
@@a1aprospects470lol chill dude, no kid watching this now is gonna give a shit what you wore the 90’s🤣🤣🤣
@@mrOGbobbyjohnsongives me the feeling you gon peak in highschool haha
That track jacket gave him a mafioso vibe, adding to where each of them come from in life. Great choice IMO!
Exactly it really fit his whole theme of being the boss’s son
Perception is everything. A CULT CLASSIC with no budget. Creativity is priceless!
Also a BROKE CLASSIC because it made no money 😂😂😂
This low budget film became one the most iconic movies in film history.
When the fuck did it become Godzilla?
@@thomasjames7568not everything has to be Godzilla to be iconic.
*Superbad* *sounds*
And it barely made back it’s budget. It’s not a commercial success by any stretch
Nah Chris Penn’s outfit was perfect, it fits the Mob Boss’ son style
There's something to be said for doing a film on a budget. It forces creativity.
Look at all these $200 million dollar made-by-corporate-committee boring movies that all look like each other or 14 movies that came before.
Yup they’ll only spend millions on boring “safe” movies that’ll guarantee a return
@@SilkyDuragsOnlyNoExceptions
They haven’t been getting a return lately. I believe Disney’s film studios are down like $2b this year.
@@johnnyphesto1247 that’s good. Hope they understand why
Exactly man of the earth is fire
@@johnnyphesto1247 Looks like we can make that 2.3 billion with The Marvels. And I:m guessing 2.5 B when "Wish" comes out and bombs
I think the track jacket look fits Eddy as it seems like something a guy like him would wear.
To me it seemed like everyone had to be a professional and wear a suit expect him because he’s the boss’s son
That makes a good movie a legend. I mean Sincerity and natural look. No forcing things at all to make a movie at least convincing.
Fun fact:
They couldn't afford a car or another actor for car theft so David Watson actually stole a car there.
I didn’t notice at all that mr pink was wearing Jeans I mean he’s a professional after all so I can’t believe it
I think the mismatched clothes are actually good for the criminals. If they were successful and could afford their own suits they wouldn’t be taking such risks at money opportunities.
The one guy wearing a track Jacket fit his character because his character is basically being daddy’s son
Everytime I learn something new about this film it just makes me love it that much more. Loooong after we're all gone there will be fans of great cinema that sit on the edge of their seat watching it!!!
Tbh i don’t anybody had noticed this back then when the movie was in theatres
Lol this dude just made this all up lol especially the green light one was good
The original budget was 30,000 but Harvey Keitel helped bring it up
the original budget was $30,000 not $3000
@@isaacgruenbaum8156 shoot my bad
wasn't the initial asking budget jacked to 2 mil cuz of keitel? like it was lower w/ like a bridges type iirc
@@gregorypinkney2437 yes
No one knew or cared when watching for the first time. This movie is one of the best films I have ever seen and it definitely has the best writing. The flipping back and forth from another person's point of view within the story. Its a masterpiece.
And you would think they were all loaded
Considering a home in California is 5 million they are in fact broke
They were still building up their fame at the time.
Chris Penn definitely seems like the kind of guy who pulled the best pranks in high school
The warm up/track jacket fits eddy as a spoiled son of a crime boss, black jeans fits steve as he's the more experienced undercover cop, and the different pants and jackets (plus his shirts looser than the others) fits vic as hes a fucking sociopath...i dont think he really has a care in the world
You do what you can on a budget. And look what he did with it 😊
Show that if you have a good story and a good director, you can make a good movie.
If anything all of these small peculiarities made the film just stand out more, great piece of cinema!
On a second or Third watch sure but no way it changes your view when u first watch it as this films plot keeps you pretty well invested
Crazy considering the black and white suits made this film iconic as well as Chris Penn’s attire he was middle management while his dad was upper management
This movie has aura, didn’t matter of stuff didn’t match or looked cheap
Made the film look real. Big budget would have ruined the film's look and feel.
Honestly ever since payday 2, I associate the two piece suits with professional robbers and that's mighty cool.
One of his best works
Still such a legendary. Tarantino is up there with Scorsese as the top dog
Right on,, thats what maked this a genuine classic for all time ,,hall- of - fame- type- movie
i cant lie i would of love to have been on the set of reservoir Dogs
I didn’t think at all Eddy would’ve worn a tracksuit jacket because of that I just thought it fitted a guy like that
Chris Penn in a track jacket, skinny wrangler jeans and cowboy boots is so 2023 it’s crazy, definitely ahead of his time
Still an awesome flick though.
How many can tell the jacket and pants are from two different suits? Even after having it pointed out? Probably not people who would watch this movie
Well they made a good job of the clothes...I dig this film!
Harvey K., Michael M. und Steve B. sind die besten in dem Film. Vor allem Michael mit seiner Tanz Szene.
It all worked though!
Movies doesn’t always have to be over the top. You can rely on the actors, Director and writers/creative folks to put out a great movie.
Chris Penn chose wisely!!!
And still they pulled off something most high budget movies struggle to do and fail! A director's vision is truly irreplaceable.
That's why the shootout away looked so real, it was...
My plebian ass not knowing what's the problem with Madsen's suit to this day...
And thats the beauty of this film
This movie is the definition of quality over quantity
Amazing. Still his best movie.
The 'c' in Buscemi makes a 'sh' sound
Chris Penn said he would like to forget some of the clothes he owned. Lol but the track jacket works given Nice Guy Eddie’s somewhat childish personality
Shooting blanks, using squibs, all without permission? Peeling off into traffic without closing off the road? I doubt it. I really doubt it.
It's a team effort
Youre saying is that they filmed this on open roads? Lol no
If we were more worried about what they were wearing instead of the story then the movie would've been terrible. The film worked pretty damn good so I could care less about the clothing.
didn’t take anything away from the film.
still a great, great, great fucking film
You would never know.
Except FilmLA won't give you a permit for blanks and squibs without a Fire Marshall and Police detail.
So the most realistic clothing scenario
If I was to watch one movie for the rest of my life, this is it.
Yet, it became classic movie
I just started playing the Payday 3 open beta, bout to be like my favorite movies
Weaeing sport stuff was very common among gangsters
Actually makes the suits look better. Ill fitting & mismatched. Listen professional criminals know to obey traffic laws. Hence professional.
Well they are stealing so... What u expect them to be well off? Mr Orange apartment would be like 2000 grand a month now lol
Just shows if you have a good idea you don’t need millions to make a good movie.
The budget was so looooowwww.
Exactly like Mad Max
Beats a 300 million dollars Superhero movies
So public employees can be bought privately?!@😅
And they may cost too much for a budget film...
my god, It is BOO-SHEM-EE not whatever the hell this dude said.
Great cast but Tarantino shouldn't be on film.
“Why am I Pink”
How did Mikey kill her?
Someone you know had the wrong brand of iced tea.
I don't ever drink that brand of iced tea.
That Bureau tried to kill me more than twice.
The Agency that I am technically not part of or employed by has not attempted to kill me.
These things I notice.
That's why I am still alive.
Hopefully there is a good explanation.
what?
@@ld2048Shhh! Let him keep going...

Too bad the budget wasn't low enough to prevent such a horrible violent worthless film being made
Dude, what's wrong with your voice?
Bullshit
No wonder it flopped.
It made double its money back and is now seen as a classic. Don’t comment on any video ever again because of the goofy comment

Yea man. It's just sad cause it seemed like the director had about 8 more movies in him 😂😂😂😂😂❤
