I love watching your plant shopping videos- I feel like a kid in a candy shop with you. That is the most beautiful African Violet ever! I love your enthusiasm. I also love that you NEVER bash a plant shop for its prices. You always are so professional and so respectful.
I love thrifting! I can literally spend hours looking around them. I've picked up some amazing stuff in the past. And like you say, it's eco friendly too!!
I usually save money by bending down at a nursery and picking up broken pieces of plants that fall on the floor. They only get swept up and thrown away by the staff anyway, so I get free plants this way! 😉
My favorite nursery had a sell of the pots and home decor. I got a big self watering pot that was $124.99 for $31! It was 75% off! Its a square one on legs!! I needed it for my big ass monstera. I was so excited!
Hi Ashley-- Great vid as always!! The wick in the rabbit's fern will help with keeping it moist. also it needs more water than you say you water.Especially if you have low humidity. Put it very near your humidifier!! Any of you plants you bought with the wicks in them, set them on pebbles in trays and bury the wick. Keep the pebbles moist and the wick will draw the water into the plants. I had said that in a previous post on the African violet as well. Good luck with your new babies!!!
Related to your sunglasses: When I was in university I always lost my pens and pencils, never could find one even though I bought cheap packs of them all the time. Someone advised me to invest in one high quality, expensive pen and to get rid of everything else, and it worked! I kept that pen for over a year (until I graduated). Sometimes we unconsciously don't take care of stuff because it isn't valuable to us. Better to buy once, buy well. 🙂
I loved your video !!! I love looking at the plants. When I was 12... my parents would go the store. They dropped me off in the plant section and that is where they would pick me up. That is my happy place!
Ms. Ashley Anita.. when we are walking down the aisles with you.. I for get, you don't work @ Lowes..lol the zooming in & out on plant things..😊 right down too price & description and a confession even for the plants you killed.. thank you..i do indeed enjoy shopping for planty things with you..🌿
When I go to any plant shop I stop by the clearance section first. Always good finds and I’ve gotten good at rehabbing plants. Somehow when I go shopping I rarely spend more than $33 on plant things. I loved this shopping on a budget idea. I wish we could go plant shopping together.
I have a ponytail palm that is five feet tall in my yard. A friend gave it too me as a small plant. My sago palm has been in my yard for years my dogs don’t touch it. My sister and I both use jelly jar to propagate many geraniums. Love to reuse thing. You got some great deals on your plants.
I wanted you to get that fern and planter soooooo bad!!!!! Also, the plants with the strings, I keep those strings submerged in filtered water (I have a red fitonia, purple waffle plant, and dieffenbachia I got from Lowe’s with those), and they do great!!! Tons of growth, without overwatering!
I love the rabbits foot fern. I would have picked that up also. The whale planter and African Violet is gorgeous. Great buy. Great job . It would have been hard to pass up that adorable fish planter.
I think a green plant for "Wally the whale" would have been a better choice. The African violet would have looked nice in the black "puppy pot". Just my opinion :}
I just watched your thrifting & plant shopping, you and I are alike,!, the pots you found and liked are pretty much what I liked and picked out last week, I went thrifting at we have, Peddlers Mall, individual booths, I spent $48.00 getting plant items!! I got a blue planter from edibles, you got a white one, I got a lime green really heavy champagne glass to set a pot on, you liked a lime green one, I got a small watering can , I was giggling from all of the shopping trip you did
I was so excited to see that you got an AV! I love AVs and the pot is so cute with it! Does Kings carry named AVs, or was it a NOID (no ID?) Also, such a fun challenge! You need to do this more often.
Hi Ashley, been watching your videos all day, it’s 3:10am right now Saturday morning and I’m shutting off😔 I’m exhausted🥱 but I can’t wait for 11:00 a.m. so I can go window plant shopping in my neighborhood 🤗if I do spend, my budget is going to be $10!! it’s a new plant shop that’s in Harlem New York. NYC👒🧤🪴
I love my rabbit's foot fern. The only way I can keep ferns alive is to continue to use the wicking system. I put the pot into a clear jar where I can keep about 1/2" of water in the jar but not touching the bottom of the pot. The wick stays in that reservoir of water. They are happy this way. I just got the Rosy Maidenhair fern yesterday.
If you happen to like Talenti Gelato, the small wicking pot that your rabbit's foot fern came in will sit perfectly in an empty gelato container. Not the prettiest presentation but it works and my fern has been thriving this way.
Neon pothos grows like crazy and surprisingly doesn't have to have intense light. The AV and fern need lots of light. Do NOT buy the "aquamarine" plant (sellagenella). It is beautiful, but impossible to keep alive. (I've been a plant person for 50 years, so believe me! "This shopping on a budget thing is fun." Oh, my!
I love all ferns. My favorite is the maidenhair and the lemon button fern. I don't have the rabbit's foot fern, but I think they are beautiful. The roots don't creep me out at all. Enjoy all your plants!
I just bought a sansaveria moon shine in a cash po for3$ on clearance. It was a little rough so I cut 2 leaves propagate d it in water and put the plant in an existing pot of moonshine sansaveria! Win,win! Go to Lowe's,never disappoints!!!
I planted my Sansevaria in a cachepot because I like the look of it. I’m just careful how i water it. So far, so good. I wish I had a S. moonshine. Now I’m curious if your propagations with grow regular green or the moonshine color. Fun experiment! Good Luck!
Plant shopping is always fun. I bought five plants, three small pots and two saucers for around $60.00. The plants are small but I guess they will grow unless I forget to water them. Shhh don’t tell my hubby 💚🙃
You can start your own lemon trees from seeds. I have a 3 foot lemon tree just grown from seed and it's simple to make them small by pot binding the roots and keeping them trimmed back.
You can find tons of baskets @ thrift stores & sometimes planters too. I got a great ceramic planter w saucer in perfect condition for $3.00. $ Tree great, too. Love your She w plants. 😊
I got my snake plant it was just a little smaller than that and I got it at Walmart 4.97 and now it's as big as that one I enjoyed it thrifting and the dollar store🤟🤟🤟💛🧡🥰🤩😍
I love this video. Everything at is amazing. I got those bottom watering dishes last year and who knew they would come in soo handy. Definitely gonna stock up for this year. I’ve seen them at other places and they can run pricey.
I think you did a great job and I love what you purchased! I would have been over budget at Kings when I saw those grey planters with the tripod legs! I'm going to see if I can find them on Amazon or at Home Goods! 😍
This was a fun video the violet was beautiful it looks real good in the whale 🐳 pot the rabbit foot was cute good deal on the saucers love the flamingo 🦩 gloves thanks for sharing
new sub from vegas... came across this video and i was trippin out during dollar tree haul!!! i got the same exact shtuff.. no exagg!!! except for the sunglasses.... i got aviators instead!!!! totally agree with the glasses, i always sit on them in the car! its nice to find a fellow plantita inside my favorite store 😂
Nice haul. I like the flamingo gloves, I'll have to pick some up the next time I'm in there. The glass with the gold rim remembered me of a couple of glass mugs I got from DT, i actually drilled a hole in the bottom of one to propagate a variegated string of hearts. Those also make excellent planters. Love your videos.
OMG I'm glad I found this was just talking to someone about my plants and they were looking at me as if I was from another planet... Went to lowe's yesterday and everything was dying 😭, home depot was a tiny bit better. Looking for a greenhouse in the hamptons roads area if anyone knows of one 🥺?
What a great video. Sometimes a simple little self challenge really breaks up the monotony of daily life or the crazy in ones head. Enjoy all your new goodies!
Oh yes! Flamingo gloves a definite! I love that African violet. Would’ve def gotten it! Yes, I love my rabbits foot fern. I bought the same size at Lowes last year. It was fun watching this video.
I’ve had my rabbits foot fern about a year also. I love it! I think its pretty easy and I’m an underwaterer with low humidity. What’s been your experience Lindy?
I liked those baskets you said looked like a trash can 😂 it's actually pretty convenient, if soil ever falls out or when you water a plant and there's still a little bit of water dripping it'll just goes on the film and it won't get the basket dirty or wet.
The 2pk of mini terra cotta pots fit a 2in nursery pot. Came in clutch for my hoya chelsea and philodendron gutifferum. Perfect for rooted hoya cuttings.

gorgeous african violet, I would've picked that one up too. I'm gonna have to go find one for myself 😊 & that's funny, I also just had a fittonia wither away on me after being shocked from a move

Loved this shop with me🤩that whale pot omg so cute! The color is so rich and that shade of blue 🤗. I remember when you showed your fittonia in one of your videos, sorry that she didn’t make, but at least you got to get another.Love your haul, we’re woman you can’t give us a budget 😂😂😂
Love all your purchases. I have two Rabbits Feet. Bought at the same time at the SC Farmers Market. Never had any bf either. I love them! Glad you went with one too. You won’t be disappointed.

Thrifting has the added bonus of being eco friendly too : D
Definitely!
YES!
I absolutely love thrifting! I’ve found some real treasures!
😉
Isn’t that how it happens? You put yourself on a budget and you see EVERYTHING you want!😩 just go back the next day!!
Of course!
My favorite nursery had a sell of the pots and home decor. I got a big self watering pot that was $124.99 for $31! It was 75% off! Its a square one on legs!! I needed it for my big ass monstera. I was so excited!

The nice clear vases at Dollar tree are nice turned upside down and used to raise small plants. I use them in my windowsills.
Great idea
Excellent idea! Never even though of it strangely
I loved your video !!! I love looking at the plants. When I was 12... my parents would go the store. They dropped me off in the plant section and that is where they would pick me up. That is my happy place!

Thx Andy!
Omg that fish pot! My grandma has that same exact one and they also make giant ones, which my dad has like 3 or 4 of that he bought at a garage sale😂
You should get an umbrella plant! I absolutely love mine! I've found it's pretty easy going and easy to care for!
I love your videos! I’m also jealous of all the plant shops you have available to you!
Thank you so much!
Ashley Your Dollar Tree is so much bigger than ours. You have so much more to choose from. Lucky!
I love that you mention the price when you're shopping. Sooo helpful when I'm plant shopping and I think, humm is this a good price or expensive?
I have a ponytail palm that is five feet tall in my yard. A friend gave it too me as a small plant. My sago palm has been in my yard for years my dogs don’t touch it. My sister and I both use jelly jar to propagate many geraniums. Love to reuse thing. You got some great deals on your plants.
Probably would have chosen the neon pothos. Love the little whale fish pot
I wanted you to get that fern and planter soooooo bad!!!!!

Yes! That blue fern was super tempting
I love the rabbits foot fern. I would have picked that up also. The whale planter and African Violet is gorgeous. Great buy. Great job . It would have been hard to pass up that adorable fish planter.
Holy smokes that tradescantia blew my mind!!! I have a big one but THAT was double the size! What a great deal!
I love that you are shopping like a normal person. This was a fun video to watch.
I love the rabbits foot fern. I used to have one, hopefully I can find another one! Love the Violet also!
Wally the whale periwinkle blue is such a calming color.
💚💚
I think a green plant for "Wally the whale" would have been a better choice.
The African violet would have looked nice in the black "puppy pot".
Just my opinion :}
Hey you read my mind periwinkle blue and Wally the Whale. Great minds think alike. 😜
I would have bought the blue whale pot too. So cute!
I hit subscribed as soon as she said “this channel is for crazy plant people” 😅
Haha me too!! :)
Welcome!
👋Same!!!
hey ashley , you can call the cute little blue pot - blubber. recommended by my 7 yr old

You can find pots at Ross stores to sometimes they have ones like the fish for 3to 5
So true but since the pandemic, Ross has not replenished the planters at all here.
I’ll have to check it out!
Yes! Great things at Ross.
My first time seeing one of your videos and you had me at "crazy plant people." I really enjoyed coming along for plant shopping.
Welcome!
I'm so happy you ended up getting the blue whale pot!!! Such a great haul 💚🌿💚
Aw thx Krista!
All you need is Pothos, Parlor Fern, and a Monstera to have a jungle under $30😂...propogate, propogate, propogate and propogate 😂
Great suggestions!
I love my rabbit's foot fern. The only way I can keep ferns alive is to continue to use the wicking system. Thanks for watching Vanessa!
"Old Lady Plant?"
Those violets are hot! 🔥

Lol love the glasses. I have to check out the dollar store for prop vases!! Good idea

30$ goes far at Lowe's!!!
Nice!
I planted my Sansevaria in a cachepot because I like the look of it. I’m just careful how i water it. So far, so good. I wish I had a S. moonshine. Now I’m curious if your propagations with grow regular green or the moonshine color. Fun experiment! Good Luck!
Moonshine should produce same color because of no verigation.
Plant shopping is always fun. I bought five plants, three small pots and two saucers for around $60.00. The plants are small but I guess they will grow unless I forget to water them. Shhh don’t tell my hubby 💚🙃

Yes Ashley , you can find most things at the Dollar Tree . You looked Fabulous Darling with the sunglasses ! Thanks for the video, very good dear.

You can start your own lemon trees from seeds. I have a 3 foot lemon tree just grown from seed and it's simple to make them small by pot binding the roots and keeping them trimmed back.

I think those Planters with the legs look like old ringer type washing machines - I bet you never look at them the same way again.
@@icemancometh8679 too funny😂

Oh yes! Flamingo gloves a definite! I love that African violet. Would’ve def gotten it! Yes, I love my rabbits foot fern. I bought the same size at Lowes last year. It was fun watching this video.
Thanks Lindy!
I’ve had my rabbits foot fern about a year also. I love it! I think its pretty easy and I’m an underwaterer with low humidity. What’s been your experience Lindy?
@@maribootz2534 yes, very easy...much easier than most ferns.
I liked those baskets you said looked like a trash can 😂 it's actually pretty convenient, if soil ever falls out or when you water a plant and there's still a little bit of water dripping it'll just goes on the film and it won't get the basket dirty or wet.
You did great with $30 + $4 lol. Budget. I have a rabbit foot fern I love it! Easy going. Keep it away from direct sun and keep it moist.
Thanks!
The 2pk of mini terra cotta pots fit a 2in nursery pot. Came in clutch for my hoya chelsea and philodendron gutifferum. Perfect for rooted hoya cuttings.
