    To be honest, there’s nothing wrong with diversity at the end of the day. All of these pilots still have to meet the same standard that the FAA has set for every pilot the test doesn’t care what color you are if you can pass it then you’ve earned your place simple as that.

      Good to know you’re for hiring people based on skin color.

      @@mikefrommieHey bud, there’s a difference between hiring motivated by skin color and giving minorities a chance to be in the hiring pool. This is a training program designed to attract minority candidates so that qualified minority applicants can exist in the first place and are available to be considered. Not a difficult concept to understand, but it seems that the combined IQ of anti-diversity online commenters can’t even break 50.

      @@mikefrommieWho said that? This is a program that helps open up doors to minorities and women who might otherwise not consider aviation as a career, as its expensive to get into and is dominated by white men, and their communities alone might not neccesarily have the resources to help them get into the cockpit.
      I dont get it. You racist complain about minorities not working, not taking school seriously, etc. But as soon as oppertunities pop up for them, you complain about diversity. The FAA/DOT has the sane guidelines for everyone regardless of their skin color. Id suggest laying off the Fox News and Ben Shapiro for a bit.

      Are you sure they all have to meet the same standards? If you haven't been paying attention they've been lowering standards everywhere for their DEI purposes...

    Too bad I can be a pilot

  • @KatTheo431
    @KatTheo431 7 месяцев назад +5

    It's becoming so difficult to become a pilot in the US military since it's so competitive and selective and it takes such high math and science test scores and grades, but that does provide very high level of competency and military pilots already have considerable experience before even starting a career with an airline. These pilots being trained by other inexperienced pilots then heading straight to an airline... that feels less safe. Diversity is great, but lives are at stake.

    • @stevenluo9516

      Last I checked, you don't need high math and science talents to be a pilot. In fact, if you do have high math and science abilities, you should consider a career other than being a pilot.
      And I'm pretty sure you may drive on American roads, where the skill level needed to operate an automobile is lower. The diversity of automobile operators on American roads as opposed to airline pilots are not a comparison. Needless to say, I feel safer flying on a commercial jet than driving on American interstate roads any day of the week.

      The airlines can't rely solely off the military as a resource for recruitment there simply are way too many positions. So civilian routes would always be the primary source and this is just the first step even after graduation there is still plenty of additional training and hours needed before they can step in a commercial cockpit. No corners are being cut.

    • @videogameplayer0552

      It’s not for no reason. There’s a pilot shortage that needs to be filled. How do you suppose pilots are gonna train without flying planes?

    • @Greyteam4291

      @videogameplayer0552
      If global warming is real, all planes should be grounded, therefore eliminating the problem.
      Add to that another spy balloon is being allowed to cross the country so apparently air force flights can be cut back too.
