Thanks for this Podcast. Its important for us to discuss this. I wanted to add that I do believe that its Creator, instead of an accident, when things go well. I think God is bringing these issues to light for a reason.
My partner and I were discussing this. I'm from Colorado, and am Mixed- Chicana, Navajo, Pueblo and White. He's from AZ and is biracial- his mom is black and his dad is from Mexico. Latino/Hispanic people have colorism in our own communities. It's really praised to marry outside as long as it's a White family and..."que bonita, la nina es muy wedita, preciosa." I'm light skinned because my maternal grandfather is white but my hair is thick, dark and I have a "Spanish wave." My other primos, whose dads are White got those comments. I own being light over others, because both my biological parents are brown with black hair but my kids are Afro-Latinos. I've seen how in stores I'm treated better and do have a level of privilege. Familia has straight up called my kids mayates and said Black people are not as smart and are criminals. There are family members I don't allow around my children, even tho we are all Garcia/Uliberi descendants.
God made all of us, beautifully diverse. And until Latino/Hispanic people can have an honest conversation about how colorism divides our own communities, I'm not sure we can overcome white supremacy as a systemic issue, when its perpetually upheld.

I was talking to my daughters and they want to go to a riot which I disagree is a bad idea they asked me why don't you want to go don't you care I replied with of course I care I've seen this happen before nothing really changes a lot of people forget that God comes first no matter what I feel like it's none of my business really but it is my business this is the part were I ask god to show me the way ... trust and believe in God and prayers to the world

I have my masters degree in ethnic studies from CSU. We did discuss this, regularly and there are articles on Latino and Native American rates. Native's have the highest per capita rates for police brutality and incarceration. Here's two recent articles:
    amp.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/12/latinos-police-brutality-protests-george-floyd
    www.lakotalaw.org/news/2017-11-21/native-lives-matter-the-overlooked-police-brutality-against-native-americans
Imagine what we could accomplish if we all came together with all the data and our White allies to challenge the disproportionate inferior treatment of people of color as a whole? Most of us just want equity, we're all human and just want to be seen as fellow human beings.

Yea, but prayer is nothing without action. God calls us all to use our talents and treasures for his purpose. My kids participated in a BLM mural in our town and were featured in the NYTimes and we're from the Southwest. I prayed about it and answered the calling. There are things we can do, register people to vote, volunteer, raise money, go to school and work with certain people. We all have callings, we are Creators hands. All things are possible though him.
*we can stay safe, social distance, and use masks with filters. It's called decernment. For example, MC Magic made this podcast, no contact. People can sign petitions also, with no contact.

I feel people set their selves up for failure cuz one they know there's going to be violence there in all honesty where's the trust in God in all this
