Brandon, I just watch this video for the second time I just love watching you fish is more down to earth for the majority of fishermen. We can all have $50,000 bass boats in all the fancy stuff. It just takes a little ingenuity patience and having a good time.😊
These tips were really helpful. Thank you for continuing to post such quality content and being super social with your audience. Keep up the good work and I will be using these tips the next fishing trip!
Great video, thank you!!! Downsizing always gets the job done. The ponds I usually fish are highly pressured and I can't count the number of times I have showed up and saw guys throwing huge swim baits, crank baits etc., and having them tell me they've caught nothing and I whip out an ultralight rod with Gulp Minnows, crappie/trout magnets or a small 1-1/2 to 2" paddle tail and within a couple of casts I start catching fish. These guys look at me and always ask, what are you using? LOL
I have people roll up on me in my kayak all the time asking me what I’m using. I use tiny Berkley Atomic Tubes, I catch tons of fish while others aren’t catching anything.😂
Liked and subbed - we have similar water, it seems, and I love the fact that you go find places off the beaten path as well. Just because something is not "traditional" in terms of where someone "should" fish, doesn't mean you can't catch quality fish there. You showed that in this video, and I would say that when I have success after really working / hiking / exploring to get a bite - it is so much more rewarding. Great work!
"Put in the work" is always good advice. 👍🏼 How do you get to Madison Square Garden? Practice, practice, practice! 😎 Excellent vid, Brendan! (BTW, the improved quality of your video editing over the years is another great example of how putting in the work pays off.)
Yes thank you Brendan. I was wondering when you were going to upload. I love your videos and I think your underrated even though you put in a lot of effort into your videos
When it comes to teaching fishing techniques, Brandon is the best one out there, no BS and no ego trips from him. He has very good camera skills and he speaks very well. Thanks for letting me realize what I've been doing wrong, go figure.
one thing that I know of if you were to find a non-pressured fishing spot is that you need to be aware of danger in some cases like sinkholes, wild animals, leeches, snakes, crocodile, etc. I do salute you Brendan for going solo for that kind of mentality bc I'd been fishing for almost 20 years, solo, no friends to go with, wanted to find a non-pressured fishing spot. I always right about that, too often regular fishing spot will often stress out or spook the fish, making it hard to catch.
Excellent video Brendan, Im from central Ohio and have experienced the same pressured areas as in this video, appreciate your helpful tips, thanks for sharing 🎣☺️
I was a guide for a summer in my teens, we would have a nightly barbecue for the guests to eat their catch of the day, mostly pickerel, some pike, crappy, and perch. I would filet hundreds of fish that summer, their stomachs were full of tiny bait fish, small craws, but mostly tiny tiny minnows. I have been fishing small baits ever since, I almost always catch fish.
Brendan. L0ve the details and simplicity of your knowledge sharing. Can you share the details for your spinning gear (rod, reel, line, bait/hook size) please?
Awesome tips I'm from western nc so I feel you on the fishing is meh haha, one other tip I have is target the least targeted species. I fish the French broad alot and have had a hard time catfishing this year alot of people overfishing and eating everything they catch started carp fishing the heavy fished catfish dams etc. And have caught multiple large fish this year. Keep up the great content. Best tip stay mobile if your not catching anything pick up and take a walk don't stay in one spot getting skunked.
I tell my friends to downsize all the time. Fishing in NYC is really pressured. Everyone is tossing big lures and not catching anything. I'm tossing a 1/64oz jig with a small soft plastic and I'm pulling out 2-3lb bass
Hello Brendan what part of Ohio do you live in ? I used to live in the Steubenville area and would fish on the Ohio River and by far the most successful and fun times fishing was when I used small soft baits.
Yeah... live bait is forbidden over here in the Netherlands :P Bugs are okay, but using live fish and amphibians can get you a fine of a few hundred bucks, and rightly so (as far as I'm concerned). But I do know it's generally allowed in the US.
Not saying Ohio gets a lot of hate, but there are an extraordinary number of astronauts from there, and you have to wonder why they feel the need to escape the planet.

Great video! Good content. Fortunately most people don't put in any effort and that leaves the better spots to those of us who do.

great ideas. I agree 100% about walking some distance away from the more easily access points.
From the Cincinnati area, glad to see you back. Keep reminding people, put in the time and the efford and you will catch fish.
great job
All great tips Brenden! I particuraly love finding obscure or mucky spots people avoid that still hold fish.
Nailed it Brendan. Especially the “put in the work” part.👌

This is a really useful and fun video! Thanks for the helpful tips.
Moral of the story..when you go fishing, don't be a lazy, drunk, stupid litterbug .oh, and.use a Jitterbug.
I cant help the stupid part, but everything else I agree with.
