1. Have you ever tried gorge hooks? 2.Have you tried using a reverse double twist. That might've yielded longer, stronger fishing line. Don't ignore the shoe laces. If they are made using a paracord type material the inner threads can be harvesred for fishing line and cordage. 3. The cattails/rushes at the pond edge can be used for food. The risomes (roots) are loaded with starches and other nutrients. 4. The fish should be cooked with the heads on. Lots of flesh there. Eat the skin! Tons of needed fats there. Save the entrails for bait. 5. Take your pants off before going into the water. Stay as dry as possible to prevent yeast/fungal growth. I am not criticizing in the least. This was a well done and informative video. Thankyou for taking the time to make this video.
When I was a little kid we used to live by a big forest with some ponds and stuff and I would go out there a lot. I would stay there and live off what I could find and I learned a lot from doing it. Sometimes I would make a bed out there a sleep for the night stuff like that. So video kinda brings back memories

You should've cut the bottom half of your pant legs off and tie the ends off on both sides put sticks angled in so it makes a small hole and put a whole bunch of bait in there.
Guys like if you think he should do a survival video without editing the video so we can see all the fails like trying to start fire I bet it would take 100 tries
much harder to start a fire with eyeglasses. magnify lens is 100x better. also pending the sky condition starting a fire by glasses can be frustrating. but I think using a eyeglasses is far easier then friction method.

Smart way of making that hook. When catching bluegill you don't need bait. Just use that hook and put something red or yellow on it. Guaranteed to pull out half the lake

Bro... the fires the easiest part. Find some dry grass or straw then heat it with ur glasses

In a survival situation eat guts and all don't waste any part of the fish...never know when you will eat again...plus more protein
I can see eating organs such as heart/liver but I would stay away from the intestines. Eating feces is never a good idea.

Build a crawfish trap and use the fish heads and guts for bait.
Now this is a survival challenge! using top of the line rods and line and then just having to find bait is not a survival challenge
