Ha. Yep, it does have a big effect; I advise it to keep using rigid ductwork and overpower fans to counter the flow rate resistance. Hopefully, the video will help you in your decision making.
Thanks for your question, Jason. While I can't recommend a specific replacement for exhaust vents, I suggest caution with roof vents due to the efficiency issues I've encountered. I always try to aim for the exhaust to be designed so it comes through the wall. For wall vents, investing in higher-quality options is wise. Also, please ensure professional installation by a skilled tradesperson for the fan and ductwork. This can greatly improve performance and longevity. Prioritise quality over cost for reliable ventilation solutions. Sorry for being vague; I would love to have time to test all the different options. I suppose with more experience, I will have better knowledge in time to come.
Hi not sure about your budget but the unpowered hoods like in the video are the cheapest ranging between £400- £500 + calibration,. Bsria in Bracknell is your best bet

Don't do it....
You mention to “be careful” about the exhausts, but don’t suggest a recommended option in their place. What would you recommend instead?
