Had one of my amigio crews with 3 wheelbarrow one day. We stacked all 3 together. I never stopped the rotation of my drum just kept swinging left and right. It was awe inspiring. I will suggest to a contractor to have one when doing 6" ribbon curb. Tell them they can scoop it out the wheelbarrow or off the ground.
Back in the middle 70s, I worked for a GC here in Maine and we always did garage slabs like that, thickened edges and 1 or 2 courses of block. I still drive by a lot of them to this day and they are just like new.
Ya Roy they these slabs hold up forever. Glad to hear from an old boy from a Maine who knows what real work is all about. It's soooo nice to dry by a project years later and it still looks awesome 😎
My Dad said back in his time circa 1950s they wheeled cement with Georgia buggies they were huge once you got them moving he said they were not too bad but tricky to navigate in tight areas they were for really big jobs like the one he was on when they were doing the new fuel storage tanks at OHARE airport in Chicago
nice little power buggies now on those jobs at the airport and downtown, but still, sometimes the old one man powered buggies work well going on off of elevators on jobs!
Quick tip for you, while the barrows are new ceramic coat the whole thing, that way nothing will stick to it, they will wash up so easily! You will for sure thank me later for how easy they clean up! Take care and don't work too hard!
it has a 12" wide continuous footer and the floor helps. single story garage only has roof loads. a grade beam over properly compacted gravel can carry many times that. The only enemy of this type of structure is improper compaction.
Ya uncle Jim. I was making rebar caps with Frank. I had made maybe 8 caps an I decided to go down the bank where we drop the demo concrete. My foot got caught in a piece of concrete and down I went. Next thing my arm is a wet noodle. Woke the girl up to take me to the ER and they poped her back in.

that looked like some really nice concrete it bull floated very well it appears on video .. i have such a hard time getting concrete in my area that will seal up nice with bullfloat when it isnt poured very wet.
Watch out I had the same wheel barrels they like to split right up the handles and the barings love to blow out as well but thats my only complaint and they are good work tool

But i'm building with same standard which is much stronger than the philippine way. New mixer with 7.5hp motor cost me$1100.

That exactly how my 1965 two car garage is built, and the concrete and two row of blocks still looks like new.

Absolutely just drill some rebar into the slab and core fill those cells. You can epoxy those bars into the slab too.
You could’ve safe sometime and the guy’s doing the wheelbarrow by leaving a board off for the truck to drive in.

I'm confused. waht keeps the weight of the building from cracking the edge right off and sinking without a Footer and foundation?
They hand dug the Footer inside the forms 12” deep, so it has a monolithic slab/footer.
The Re rod and 6x6 mesh is what holds it together. The whole slab can float as one piece

11:21 you can see us putting the bar in. The edge was clearly thicker than the main slab.
I have bought 2 of those Brentwood wheelbarrows,they lasted 20yrs for busy Landscaping company.

Those work ok on flat smooth ground but if it's rough they are a pain in the A*&. They will bounce back and forth.
Rent a motorized wheelbarrow for $100/ day. 1 1/2-2 times size of regular wheelbarrow and goes up hills.
