Sadie Sink on the bed crying and acting her heart out while you're just so genuinely vibing to the hook was my favorite part lmao
One thing everyone should know is that Taylor did this 10-minute version song and film is solely for us (swifties). The label record did not ask her to do this, not her team, not anyone.
The last scene of her turning All Too Well into a book and talking on stage in front of the audience, is actually showing that she's telling her personal story between her and Jake to her fans because she knows she has a personal connection between her fans and her.
In 2012 when she released this song, she never expect her fans to love this song as the lyrics are so personal to her. She said in an interview before that she actually wrote a 10-minute version of All Too Well but was cut off to 5 minutes. Her fans then asked for the original version for 9 years until today, hence there it is... with a short film. She's doing everything her fans want her to do. She never wanted fame anymore after she found Joe.

Sadie Sink's ability to cry and it be genuinely devastating is just one testament to her talent. The first time I saw this and she burst into tears, I balled. Such an effective, realistic and heartbreaking crier.

All Too Well ties into The Moment I Knew (when he didn't turn up to her 21st). She was young and clearly deeply, deeply in love and it didn't work out. She hints in various interviews that the age gap was a major factor and this confirms a lot of it. It's heartbreaking and left scars. (the first quotation).

i love the diversity of the cast. even if he didn’t have friends of different races, i love how taylor has grown and knows how important it is to have that represented. also in the Lover video, a man of color was AWESOME because she said it herself that she’s grew up white privileged.

I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but if you watch the credits it says "Him, Later- Jake Lyon" who was one of the Gaffers on the film! Interesting that she didn't just have Dylan do that part but specifically found a guy named "Jake" to do it!

I just heard her say that the two actors went off script and some amount is improv and I'm someone who gives credit where it's due. If the script had this scene, writer's credit. Improv? Actor's credit. Bc let me tell you a pure improv is very different than going off script.
