This takes me back. My spouse and I had just moved into our house (14 years ago) and we were too poor to afford cable so we watched over the air broadcasting. I was going through the few channels we had in the evening and this was on one of the PBS stations. It was so weird but it fascinated me. After watching it for a bit I actually found it to be kinda cute and wholesome. It's all about a little girl experiencing regular everyday life at her grandma's house; hence Nanalan'. It always ends with the main characters (Mona) mom picking her up from her grandma's house and on the drive home she asks her (Mona) how was her day and what did she do during the day.
I'm kinda sad they don't show it anymore.

I am fascinated by puppetry (I even do ventriloquism semi professionally). I watched Nanalan’ (and Mr Meaty, when it was on) as a full grown adult. No shame on my end.
It was adorable and wholesome, and I thought the idea of a puppet (Mr Wooka) doing a puppet show with tiny puppets of his own was brilliant.
I can sort of do the Mona voice - I have a friend named Russ who I refer to as Russer (because we both got a kick out of Nanalan’.) and I generally do the Mona voice when I want to make him laugh.

It feels me with such nostalgia. Loved this show, still do, the voice acting, the puppet design. The small stories, it’s amazing. Sorta creepy, but that’s the way I saw things, bright and bland.
