legit question! did they spoke out fox value, that could have confirm, whether missile had proximity fuse. I think as it was close doc they gone for infrared seeker.
I'm not a rocket professional but I know for sure not every single one has proximity fuse, there are way to many rockets but that might be it

Tip: the russian manuever one was named kvochur bell.
But it's not really a kvochur's bell maneuver either since it actually had an added full backflip in there too instead of coming back to a forward level & a bit of a single or double revolution flat spin too... So tho it wasn't actually the maneuver, it was actually a whole lot cooler.

It appeared to have done an extra full spin because the camera angles were rapidly switching during the part when mav and rooster started to overshoot the su 57

Well, the maneuver is very risky to pull off because you’re basically letting the plane control itself one wrong maneuver and your plane is lost. It is a risky maneuver to pull off, but it is considered a maneuver to avoid air to air missiles because you’re basically maneuvering out of the rock its way, when I ace unknown skies, I use a very fast jets basically when they fire rocket at me, I basically go to afterburners maneuvering the rocket speed

Also another thing is I saw someone’s comment and I think the f14 should be stored somewhere far away in a naval battleship base since that’s where the f14 was stored and the game says it’s a navy fighter plus the navy base should be only for helicopters or boats to get there so that a naval battle ship would be useful while other vehicles like the boats will be used since they are pretty forgettable.

The reason Mav was susprised because he made a similar move earlier and got shot down. Besides, doing a spinning cobra against a guided missile....it was just sheer dumb luck aka movie magic.

Actually that would be the cobra (which is what Maverick basically does in both movies "hitting the brakes, & he'll fly right by"), but the bell actually does a half roll out of the vertical & then a half roll back to leveled out again... So Cobra with a twist. 😆
