RIP Taylor. I consider myself so damn fortunate I was lucky to see this cover live at a concert at the Marcus in Milwaukee (during SummerFest) where they opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers almost 20yrs ago.
RIP indeed. This is one of my favorite performances of his. I LOVE it when Taylor and Dave swap spots and just JAM out and have fun. Will deeply miss their chemistry on stage and in life in general.
This is awesome! They should do this more often in their gigs. Dave behind the drums (Nirvana flashback!), Taylor sings this beautifully & this is such a cool cover version of this song. Rock n' roll!
im a huge floyd fan, and i must admit i do like this cover. The audio in this particular video is pretty bad, but the good quality version of the foo fighter's cover is pretty damn good. I always like hearing covers of pink floyd songs.
Come in here, dear boy, have a cigar You're gonna go far, you're gonna fly You're never gonna die You're gonna make it if you try They're gonna love you Well I've always had a deep respect And I mean that most sincere The band is just fantastic That is really what I think Oh by the way, which one's pink? And did we tell you the name of the game, boy We call it 'riding the gravy train' We're just knocked out We heard about the sell out You gotta get an album out You owe it to the people We're so happy we can hardly count Everybody else is just green Have you seen the chart? It's a helluva start It could be made into a monster If we all pull together as a team And did we tell you the name of the game, boy We call it 'riding the gravy train'
I love PF since the seventies, I hear to them almost every day, and I find this absolutely amazing. It's a recreation of course but entirely legitimate, with tremendous intensity. Marvelous, wonderful job.
Wow!!!! What a brilliant cover, Taylor brought a Punk/Grunge edginess to the vocals, bass and lead rocked it up and Grohl is an absolute powerhouse on the drum kit. A monster. Outstanding.
Pink Floyd is and always will be my favorite band, but damn i love Foo Fighters!!! Awesome cover of it, Taylor sounds awesome, Nate did a great job on bass, sounds a lot like Roger Waters! and of course Dave Grohl did his own amazing version of Nick Mason's drumming. Wish they did the solo, but thats a Dave Gilmour thing really, no one can quite compete with him... sorry!
I saw them perform this in Halifax NS...2000. They also performed a fantastic cover of Robin Trower's Bridge of Sighs. I'd love to see this cover on film. If I recall they opened with it.
F*** I'm 53 years old I listen to Pink Floyd almost everyday of my life to the point my wife hates the idea of me listening to music I used to think Mann the songs would be interesting to hear at a faster pace I grew up playing the French horn oboe saxophone guitar and piano and only wish I would have stayed with that instead of dirt bikes and sports the artist's creativity I don't care if you're a wrap prints hardrock whatever redoing songs it's still all comes from the soul and it moves one person it's right not wrong
As if they didnt rock it enough, double the speed, double the grunge and you get double the rock!!! Didnt know the legend can be presented this way and still be amaxing...
I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan and I like their version. Dude, of course it's not same... but that doesn't mean it's not any good. Don't like it?... bitch and moan all you want, nobody cares.
+David Yocum I like it. I hat when band (mostly US rappers) cover music by adding and changing just a few keys here and there.but this song here is a different version.
Thanks for sharing @Paulo this amazing version, I think it is the best way to remember and honor Taylor is by listening and bringing him into our lives as many times as possible. What a f´king incredible version my gosh!!!! Blessed and respect Taylor Rest in Peace (que en paz descances querido Taylor)
How dare a truly awful band - the Foo Fighters do a cover, any cover from one of the great bands of all time. This band needs to disband before more harm is done to music. Haven't they enough already?
@dividedguy You are correct, Have a cigar is the only Pink Floyd track where they let someone else do vocals. Great Gig is actually considered an instrumental because the vocal does not contain lyric. Original Have a Cigar sang by Roy Harper. When Floyd played it live Roger and Dave basically belted it out together. I like the original but it would have been cool to see what it would have sounded like with dave or Roger singing it on the original.
not to dis the foos but this song is nothing with rick wrights keys and gilmours guitaring. i was in a band that wanted to cover this and i flat out refused, not that i didnt wana play it, just didnt wana kill it
hahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahah.... This version is great, fantastic and funny... laughed a lot... Floyd has a kid of enigmatic version... this one is too different... Let your soul go!!!!
How can you dislike this? If you wanted them to play better Have a Cigar than Pink Floyd, I'M DISLIKING YOU AS A PERSON. They are doing a great cover, but that's it, a cover. It's not their song.
So so bad. They just bashed their way through it. No nuance whatsoever. You can't just leave out the guitar solo, especially since its one of Gilmours best and crucial to the song. I guess I just don't like the Foo Fighters.
Where do people get the notion that a cover of a song is supposed to sound exactly like the original? Christ allfuckinmighty, just enjoy a good band having fun with a good song.
Oh, by the way, which ones Foo
This comment is so fucking good I can’t even stand it 😂😂😂😂
Ha ! That’s great !!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@mpreihms1i swear, fkin 9y ago, legendary
The band is just fantastic, that is really what I think.
Oh by the way, which one's Pink?
No one is 😂
Syd is/was
@@Oh_I_Will that's not the point idiot.
@@Slycoomer56 anger management please
Definitely caught the spirit of the lyrics. If people didn't do covers we wouldn't have Hendrix doing "All Along The Watchtower"!
As a pink floyd fan, this is a fucking great cover! I could not love it more!
Except when Brian May is playing guitar. And then it's fucking *awesome* ruclips.net/video/THWSLCiRt1A/видео.html
The Primus cover of this brought me here
Hope you have a cigar and enjoy your rest Taylor, you are a true legend. I'm so fucking sad...
A great grunge rendition of a Floyd classic
RIP Taylor. I consider myself so damn fortunate I was lucky to see this cover live at a concert at the Marcus in Milwaukee (during SummerFest) where they opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers almost 20yrs ago.
Summerfest was an awesome tour! Saw the one in Montreal.
I saw this in 2000 live...
same thing KGB- saw it in Cuyahoga Falls. Dave's Mom was in attendance..
RIP indeed. This is one of my favorite performances of his. I LOVE it when Taylor and Dave swap spots and just JAM out and have fun. Will deeply miss their chemistry on stage and in life in general.
Same concert tour, opening for Chilli Peppers, but here in L'ville, Ky. And, yeah, they also performed this cover live here too
First Kurt, now Taylor. What Dave's been through..
This is awesome! They should do this more often in their gigs.
Dave behind the drums (Nirvana flashback!), Taylor sings this beautifully & this is such a cool cover version of this song. Rock n' roll!
Punk Floyd !
Yes Man!!
You can feel their passion for music…
Taylor was literally half the band. Devastating loss for them, the music industry and the fans. RIP and fly high, Hawk! 💔
I love taylors voice!!
Sexy voice
??? I guess.
im a huge floyd fan, and i must admit i do like this cover. The audio in this particular video is pretty bad, but the good quality version of the foo fighter's cover is pretty damn good. I always like hearing covers of pink floyd songs.

I think I've posted it more than 10 times here.
EPIC FOO FIGHTERS + PINK FLOYD.
I love PF since the seventies, I hear to them almost every day, and I find this absolutely amazing. It's a recreation of course but entirely legitimate, with tremendous intensity. Marvelous, wonderful job.
Cant belive it. RIP LEGEND.
lol Taylor "I can't sing"
I think he sounds awesome.
I love him when he sings and plays the guitar but Dave as a drummer... he's an animal. I LOVE him.
Fuck yeah! foo fighters playing pink floyd!
Dave playing drums gives me the impression of watching him playing nirvana again, what a chill!
this drum line that they made sounds very similar to Nirvana's Scentless Apprentice
Wow!!!! What a brilliant cover, Taylor brought a Punk/Grunge edginess to the vocals, bass and lead rocked it up and Grohl is an absolute powerhouse on the drum kit. A monster. Outstanding.

Rest In Peace legend !!!
Incredible the mood Dave still play the fu..ing drrrrrummm! Cool version of a magic underrated song from Roger.
somehow I still like it. Pure raw devistating drums!
I saw them perform this in Halifax NS...2000. They also performed a fantastic cover of Robin Trower's Bridge of Sighs. I'd love to see this cover on film. If I recall they opened with it.
Taylor did a Great Job. Didn't need to sound like the original. It's badass \\m//
Yeah......don't cover Pink Floyd....this shit ends up happening.
holy f-in moley. that was insane!
Am I the only one who thinks Dave and Taylor look similar but just different hair color/
Rip Taylor 😢❤
Wow, the energy in this cover is phenomenal. It comes to show that a good composition can transcend any genre.
Sad… rip Taylor….
MISS YOU, TAYLOR HAWKINS 😔
Taylor was such a freakin rockstar. He just oozed charisma. Well miss you forever, Taylor. Rest in Rock. ❤

Did you know that covers don't have to be the same as the original?
What a great shift to this song mix of Zeppelin & PF my dream come true!
Not sure what your talking about in regards to Zepp…but ok, I guess
Que porqueria hicieron del tema de los DIOSES (Pink Floyd)
RIP Taylor
es su forma de tributar una banda , cual es el drama?
I love it, the two are so intimate (Taylor putting earplugs to Dave !) and lazy (Taylor smoking while singing !)
Great video thanks for sharing :-)
he likes to let taylor sing because he does actually have a good voice, and plus he was a drummer and he still got to be a lead singer..
As usual, The Foo's pump it up a notch, fine by me. : ) I love the original ( of course ) & this IS a cover. Rock it on out guys!!
Watch Taylor Hawkins singing is one of the most....
common things that I I've seen in my lifetime XDDDDD
Rip Syd Richard and Taylor
Dave grohl monstro

pink floyd is the opposite of punk as a concept. You cannot like both
grillonew My father is the opposite concept of my mother in every way. However I like them both. How is this possible?
and just who are you exactly to tell anyone what they can or cannot like?
REST IN PEACE TAYLOR HAWKINS. MY HEART IS BROKEN TODAY 💔
Wow... Just heard this for the first time. Mind blown. Could be best drum ever
The crowds hardly jamming ?!!! This is one of the best "Floyd" covers I've heard in a while
Great performange
Just like Pinkfloyd had in the early days(Echoes;live at Pompei)
Im a Big fan of Floyd....and i like this version.....
さすかニルヴァーナのドラマー!凄いパワフル!
i have gained slight respect for the foo fighter now.
good!! but... I still prefer the Pink Floyd version!
what is this shit ??? I;m confussed, it hurts
RIP Taylor Hawkins
Excellent front of Cigar!
I'm not a fan of these fighters something, but this was impressive.
Love Dave on those drums....He's an animal!!!
Fuckin great Raw version! This song needed updating and they nailed it! Bravo!
I'm sorry but this performance is so good I almost can't believe it. They really grunged up pink floyd.
RIP Taylor 😢
Primus's cover was better.
Thanks for sharing @Paulo this amazing version, I think it is the best way to remember and honor Taylor is by listening and bringing him into our lives as many times as possible.

I love Foo's but i love PF too. I like both versions, but original is original :)
😞
this is pure raw fighters! we need more bands like this. and this isnt metal. just pure hard rock.
Eaah! Buen cover! Completamente diferente a la belleza de la original... pero MUY BUENA!
Pink Floyd's version is real, and FLYFIGHTERS DOES NOT PLAY MUSIC, BUT THEY'RE ONLY SCREAMING! Stop the fucking death metal!
Foo Fighters... OMG new synonym for awesome
I'm a Pink Floyd Fan and I like this version. This is more about Dave Grohl's amazing drumming.
How dare a truly awful band - the Foo Fighters do a cover, any cover from one of the great bands of all time. This band needs to disband before more harm is done to music. Haven't they enough already?
awesome cover, cool take on the song!
I like foo fighters but to cover a pink floyd song js shit . Sorry !
great cover
I give them credit.
This is worst than when slayer did that cover for born to be wild...please leave the oldies to the pros play your own stuff
Brian May
wow look at his cocaine eys :o
must be great to be a rockstar
Dave is a fucking monster on the drums
@dividedguy

They are doing a great cover, but that's it, a cover. It's not their song.
Wretched. No one should ever try to cover Roy Harper's stellar vocal on this song.
So so bad. They just bashed their way through it. No nuance whatsoever. You can't just leave out the guitar solo, especially since its one of Gilmours best and crucial to the song. I guess I just don't like the Foo Fighters.
he has a good voice
The band is fantastic, I know it to be true.
Oh by the way, which ones the Foo?
