- A brief return to the Scotland trip for the second tower of the tour - due to a technical problem I couldn't upload it before but found that I still had it on my camera! These are a reasonable old fashioned eight that are the oldest ringing bells in Scotland. Believed to be unringable for a long time - perhaps because of the slender, tall tower - the bells were finally restored by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry of London in 2006. They go well, but are very oddstruck! An unusual ringing chamber, on a landing at the top of symmetrical staircases which continue up into the belfry.

THIS TOWER LOOKS LIKE ADELAIDE TOWN HALL
Rang a peal here last month - very pleasant indeed but not easy to ring well (I recall the 6th being a swine to strike over!) :-)
I think I rang the 6th and found it a real bugger to strike! There was a peal attempt straight after our ring. Went downstairs to find a couple of people I knew! I don't think they got it though.
