This video is so amazing! I'm actually was laughing at some of the things that I didn't even know existed about the park and I work there, like Sea dragon being installed backward had me dying!! And yes, This is actually Nicholas, the Train operator on the Video. I can't wait to send this video to everyone just to say that's me on the trains!! Below are some answers to a couple of questions I heard in the videos: {Log ride will actually be getting all new logs, but that means that the whole track needs to be updated and changed to go with them. Then good news and bad news with the coaster Little Dipper, Unfortunately, I believe that it is going to be removed along with other rides that are in that section of the park, but the good news is they'll be adding another coaster, I haven't heard the details of it yet or even if it's certain they're doing it. But if so The only date I've ever heard for that area opening is October 2022.} (the large train at the park, Engine #7, is actually the same locomotives that they use in the Calico mine train at Knotts berry farm.) [The carousel is actually being restored by the company that bought Bud's amusement rides, "The Western Train Co." And they've come out to work on some of the other rides before as well like the trains and antiques.] The reason why I love those trains so much is not just because I grew up riding on them, but I'm a huge train person so I absolutely love driving them and making people laugh and talking with them about them. It's like the little boy that was so excited to ride the train grew up and now is driving it hoping to inspires others just like him. I hope that I'll be there and on the trains if any of you guys come and visit!!! I cant wait to see what other places you go to as well!
Nicholas! Thank you so much for all these amazing new historical details, incredible! And I'm so happy to hear that the log flume and carousel are getting so much love! Your awesome passion and knowledge made my visit that much more special and I can't wait to make it back down. Hoping I'll be there for Castle Dark this season! Thanks again and I hope we see each other at the park again soon!
The area above the Plaza Cafe was actually Bud's apartment! He lived up there. It is a multi-story, multi-room apartment with kitchen that looks over the park. I was lucky enough to be able to tour it on my last visit. It is now used as management offices, but still looks much like it did when it was built!
Use to live there in the late 80s early 90s .. loved that place. Thanks for the video
