Everybody WANTS something, NEEDS are not what drives people. Case in point, Turbo, DCT and the Apple Watch on Kartikeya’s hand and the Apple Watch Ultra on Shumi’s hand 😂😂😂
I'm running a 2016 Honda city manual, 1.5L NA, and i used to think it's not fun enough. Little did i know i was foolish. I've started revving the engine seriously at 4-5k RPM whenever i get a sweet stretch in the city fully empty, albeit staying below 60kmph. Boy oh boy the engine sound, the immediate boost because of the MT it's enough to convince me i don't need a vw lol. Not a single blip. Only once, set of tyres changed, one brake pad set changed. Rest all stock. 60k km. Planning to keep upto 1.2-1.5L. Reliable, fun (as much as i need), 15kmpl in winters, and excellent service in harmony Honda Chandigarh. I think I'll upgrade to another honda city when the time comes.
But if the govt cares so much about pollution and what not, how come they're okay promoting things that burn more fuel in a lot of cases? How come they're ok with subsidising chinese battery tech? How come they tax hybrids more and are ready to push people into buying stuff for which Infrastructure is far from ready and are taxing hybrids more which have less emissions? Their goals, what they say and their actions all contradict each other man. They'll put more tax on 1.5NA engines giving decent fuel economy but will incentivise turbo petrols with less economy 🤷♂️ Makes no sense at all.
If we can’t have 1.8 L to 2.4L NAs, then there’s definitely a desire for turbos for more power on 1L, 1.2, 1.5. Sure, it might be overkill for city and not the best mileage in city, but the effortless cruising, quick overtaking capability more than makes up for it. The fun factor is a bit personal but it does add to that. Worth the minor hassle for all the positives.
In Spinny, Bangalore, Vega City Mall - today I have seen only Venue 1.0 Turbo models only. The Sales person told that the NA models are in more demand and Turbo models are very slow moving. people really don't want it to use in the city.
Polo GT TSI 1.2 The purpose of a turbocharger is to make an engine smaller, My Polo has a nice and small 1.2L engine that gives great mileage when driven sensibly but has that turbo that is ready to wake up when required to drive like a maniac. When it comes to the DSG aint no other automatic giving me the senselessness that a DSG provides. As I understand it learns from your behaviour so if you drive sensibly its a seamless car, when you suddenly want to become a maniac switch to S mode and you have a maniac gearbox, I have had the experience where while in city speeds the car sometimes searches for a gear but that's a tradeoff
I think it depends on the Car. I got the 2020 Polo GT with torque converter. Ir's proper fun in sportmode.. hehe.. The lag is well covered by the tc gearbox and there is power everywhere
Sometimes you don’t have a choice when OEMs couple the engine option with the variant. Ideally you should be able to get all engine options with all variants, which is not always the case.
Absolutely!! Turbo adds lot of extra parts, stresses engine which needs better maintenance and mileage isn't great, i felt NA creta IVT was butter smooth and enough for city and highway.
@@muttineni03 To be honest, I was happy driving even Alto on highways and hills. So, I don't understand, why people want turbo on their 1.0, 1.2 and even 1.5? Just to overtake others? How egoistic and self centered people are? or what a marketing trick played by the brands...
A small turbo to boost low end torqe and 1.1-1.3 l petrol engine would be great. Sub litre turbopetrols are both underpowered and inefficient at the same time. And overstressed too. Also, reviewers should weigh the car because most manufacturers do not mention kerb weight anywhere. Also, dct is still very unreliable in low torque engines. Today, nexon diesel with dct is the most drivable powertrain in
I chose Creta N line for the chassis and tweaked suspension. If the same had been offered in diesel, I would be more than happy to own it. So sometimes its because of the variant, we had to go with a particular engine option.
Very interesting point ….i did take a test drive of new Alcazar, I am dragging my feet especially when my current car is 1.5 NA CITY ! What would be your advice guys ?
Please add some background music. Atleast mild music. You guys seems like speaking very quietly but you aren't. Adding music will engage to listen more... Gen Z would like this.. This comment is Constructive criticism. Like or hate it. Your wish
Bro if you felt it was the right vehicle when(if) you tested it, then stick with your choice. I'm an NA fan, but I understand why some people would prefer turbo over it. I would stick to NA as long as possible.

Why do we need this podcast? 😂

I love the honda city but because of the family pressure had to go with a tata nexon which i don't like
Part of the turbo craze is simply chasing the most performance, and because of the tax structure, 1.5 turbo petrol are cheaper than 1.8 NA petrol

Makes no sense at all.
Most people have 1 car, they use it for city as well as highway. Hence turbo
I have an amaze Diesel which is turbo but I don't feel any lag it is the same below 2000 rpm

How about a "Dual-potato transmission" up next? I simply enjoy Schumi Sir's one-liners :)
The conversation started or seemed to start with whether we should go for turbo.
Eventually it turned out to he everything else
I think it depends on the Car. I got the 2020 Polo GT with torque converter. Ir's proper fun in sportmode.. hehe.. The lag is well covered by the tc gearbox and there is power everywhere
These conversations shouldn't be that frequent otherwise next thing we'll hear is govt introducing new tax based on turbo and NA

Shumis sarcasm is getting out of hand!! 🤣
So NA engine with CVT should be my go to?
Torque converter

What about elevate?
@@somnathchatterjee1469 That's what was on my mind, or new Amaze

Criticizes turbo's and then buys one

You should have chosen verna turbo it has better handling and dynamics with more comfort
@ if i had to had to choose a sedan, it will be Virtus any day. Verna’s suspension is too soft !
Indeed we dont need MacDonald, best line in the whole video. 🤓😁👌
I am planning for automatic on C3, this car is having only turbo engine option for automatic. Is it good choice or not? I am first time buyer.
Turbo C.N.G 😍
Very interesting point ….i did take a test drive of new Alcazar, I am dragging my feet especially when my current car is 1.5 NA CITY !
What would be your advice guys ?
Verna turbo is my pick
Brilliant!

Aapko sunke to Sonet HTX Turbo DCT finalised. Now you are saying this? 😢
