Great dialogue. I appreciate the conversation and honesty. Our culture is beautiful, but there’s a lot on unsaid things that ain’t right. As we grow older we have the responsibility to do better and teach our children better. Much love & respect to you both. Looking forward to more conversations & content.

Thank you for sharing and truly appreciate your insight into this topic. I think it’s a combination of factors, can influence one’s way of expressing thoughts, feelings and emotions. Culture, religion, environment, financial and social issues are just some of factors that make it difficult for Tongan youth or Pacific youth in the diaspora to function properly in the community and society. The detrimental cause and effect of these factors is evident 🤷🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🙈🙉🙊 my thoughts only. Thanks again for your platform and this topic I think really needs more discussions and conversations, to help address issues that our youth face in today’s society. Ofas and Jah bless from Aotearoa 💯💛❤️💚.

This man is talking about his experience at a specific all-boys high school dorm he attended. Not all schools in Tonga treat their students like how this man experienced. Not all schools feed their dorm students only plain rice for a meal. And you can send your child to experience the culture etc in Tonga attending a different high school. There’s Tonga High School, Liahona High School etc. Liahona dormitory has bunk beds with mattresses for their dorm students. 2 bunk beds in each room. They get fed delicious meals etc. Hitting/beating/whipping students in Liahona is not allowed, teachers get fired when they do.

This tokoua is expressing his experience going to school in tonga. We Tongan have so much pride we tend to look away from things that are wrong. I went to school in tonga when I was little, I still remember my teacher with her big 2x4 any time I get an answers wrong 💥 lol. I have good and bad memory. I feel for this toko and I wouldn't put my kids though what I went through.
