Really goes to show that visuals aren't everything for a franchise. They went down to the basics, and made a solid experience in this game. Love it!
Gameplay is king.
visuals aren't important, stability is. Bf 2042 is still an unstable pos.
A zombie survival game had a similar look, Unturned. It had solid gameplay too.
For real this game probably preforms better than bf2042
The quest for more “realism” in game graphics has really come at the cost of good visibility and gameplay
If by 'good visibility' you mean losing the ability to camouflage ones self in an environment, then I totally disagree. Being able to hide because of your character's interaction with the surroundings is a huge part of what makes realistic games have such good gameplay

@@ATypicalTurtl For me personally it's not about the ability to hide but just the fact that more graphically intense games can become visually cluttered and it makes it difficult to see anything.
@@iamtheteapot7405 A good example for this is BF5, there is a video out there, showing that in that game, if you don't move, in certain spots of some maps, you don't get seen even them being right beside you, and that was my major disliking of that game, the visual clutter is so much that you can't actually see enemy's that well.
Love how several of the mechanics, down to the healing animations, are basically heavily inspired from Squad. Getting the best of both worlds from BF and Squad I see 😄

It's an amalgamation akin to it's genre
I wouldn't mind the simple graphics, but I think they are a little too simple. Sometimes you even get disoriented, because you loose you sense of perspective and movement. Maybe if they added simple textures to surfaces, instead of solid colors, that would be enough. Something like the original Wolf 3D (yes, I'm that old) textures would be nice.

There are some techniques that can be used to add depth to 2D textures, making them look more 3D.
They are usually archived by mixing texture maps with displacement maps.
with 64x64 pixels per texture could be done to have blockiness -disabling like the texture fintuning would prevent upscaling to 512x? and get fine textures or smear the texture - I disable mipmapping on textures I used in a old gameut99 and the performance hit when every blocky textures were rended to the horizon or as long you could wiev them and they also interfeared with the monitor giving the typical when you usea camera and record a tv show effects - but it was crispy
The game looks like unpolished Phamtom forces from Roblox in 2016
I just wish the playtests were either longer and/or happened more often. Every playtest since like, June I've missed due to work or life happenings. Can't wait for this to finally be Early Access so we can all play whenever we like. I will make it rain like a bachelor party at a strip club.
Playing medic in this game, popping smokes and healing your entire team on the frontlines is the biggest rush of adrenaline and fun I have had in a FPS game in years. Big up the Battlebit team.
Thats what I loved about playing medic in BF...
You should give Hell Let Loose a go, then. The player interactions you have as a medic with a grateful random player is so rewarding and fun.

The fact that the mags that you use and switch out for a new one keep the same amount of bullets it had really nice touch for such a simple game.
So excited for this, ever since the glorious days of Ace of Spades before being purchased by jagex I ADORED the idea of a low poly shooter that focused 100% on the gameplay being fun and feeling good, this is the one I've been looking forward to the most

Holy shit I never thought i would see the day. I remember playing this when it was just getting started and i thought the project died. Im so happy to see it making a come back. Ill have to find some old friends to try to get a key for this again. It looks amazing. 6+ years maybe even longer since I played
First time seeing any gameplay of this and looks surprisingly fleshed out.
It feels closer to World War 3 than BF with the fast ttk and movement system.
Please get Jack and Tomo on this shit with you. Would be a blast to see

I wish they would actually release the game so we can actually have a hands on experience and judge for ourselves, its been in test for like almost a year now since it was peddled to the public
I wish they at least varied the playtest time so that it wasn't always in the mornings in my region but it's understandable with such a small team.
Up until a couple of weeks ago they haven't even had ddos protection or anticheat. The game is 100% not ready. There is more to a game then gameplay, also they are a 3 man team.
Needs popularity before they can pay people to test. No point paying people to fix a dead game lol

Gameplay > graphics. This game has everything modern BF devs couldnt even think of. This is going back to bf2/3 days. Battlebit is the peak of modern FPS gaming.

Gun play is super smooth in the game
This game takes the best aspects of many shooters out there, and joins them in a perfect storm. This will be a success, specialy because anyone, even whith basic pcs, will be able to play it

my laptop can barely run some roblox games (like those who remain or even phantom forces at times) on minimum graphics settings so just wondering
They state an GTS 450, but it might run even on lower specs, if you have a computer from the last 10 years, it will probably run with dips into the 30's, in 720p potato quality.

It has all the elements you want in an FPS game (aside from the obvious graphics). One major feature I want is the ability to pick-up weapons from the ground.
Yep. They dont want you killing the progression, or the system couldnt handle all the items on the ground maybe
I don't mind the simplified Visuals but honestly playing it; the combination of low detail Character Models and Lighting / Animation or Rigs whatever you wanna call it makes it really hard to see if a Enemy is dead or alive.

It's insurgency sandstorm, but simplified and easy to get into without the drawbacks of it being a "hardcore" shooter.

Unlike a lot of games these days (mostly AAA multiplayer games) this game has personality
Don’t forget to grab yourself ammo if you kinda pay attention to it there’s always crates to grab ammo from that people put down

Is has been mismanaged so bad. Its got major youtube promotions several times and servers are "outside of testing phase, unplayable", every time, might as well have a server overload

I would definitely play this. Problem is I play on Xbox not PC. Looks like a lot of fun though.
Good thing is though by the looks of it you can run it on a toaster so getting g your hands on a cheap laptop or something like that you'd be able to play this

Looks like fun but I have never been able to play it, not even once. The tests are always on days where I have to work, so I’m just waiting for the day the devs decides to put it on early access.

I dont mind simplified graphics, but blocky character models looks weird and overall there could be bit more details, shadows and better textures.

Simplified graphics are so good, high fps, less distraction, more fun.
I am guessing it's because they are only having server tests, so it's exclusive to get on. Older hardware also can run it. I was bored playing this game after an hour. For a blocky FPS, I honestly have way more fun playing Polygon. The high player count is just chaos.
