agar kisi ne humanties se Phd kiya h india se ..Like social science...and post doc position US me find out krta h use mil bhi jata h.. to kya usje sath bhi yahi problem aayegi? science walo ko to industries wagera 2nd option h..lekin Humanties wale Post doc ke liye kya option hoga?
It will be helpful to share your industry experience also. Some suggestions: freedom of work hours, freedom to choose a project, vacation, new learning, your imprtance in the group/company, credit of your efforts and successes, career progression, difficulties for a person with average communication skills etc.
Very good info sir .. industry is always better in terms of fast growth in learning and money. Sir please make a video on how to find sponsor for industry job to switch from academic to industry. During Postdoc when should apply for NORI/waiver. Please suggest.
So Is it better to stay in postdoc to get a better chances for visa stability? And transition later to industry for better finances. I am graduating soon and I am stuck to decide what to do.
I can understand your confusion.. if you are doing PhD from USA, you may have OPT for 3 years and by then you can get h1b, by the h1b expire you get green card, or file 140 in eb1a or eb2 and keep extending h1b.
As you said that industry is goal oriented not publication oriented. This means I will not publish and hence the chances of strong Eb1 and EB2 application decreases. So my question is again - is it worth investing in publication rich field like post doc for visa purposes or use OPT to start industry early? It seems you waited for your green card and then transitioned into Industry. Right ?
Sir I want your opinion do you feel same even for the tenured track professors?? What if some one land up in tenure track position it's not underpaid and it has more freedom than industry!
tenure tracks mostly underpaid.. tenure track, well paid, with freedom,,thats looks not real to me..LOL.. but if true all great. such academic job will have more satisfaction
