I’ve listened to this album straight play through 25-30 times at this point , and watched probably another 5-6 album play throughs from reactors (just to get that 1st time listen feel again). I don’t know another metal/metalcore album I have done that with, with no skip tracks, no filler, true album feel. It is a masterpiece
PS I agree with the Sleep Token album maybe rivaling but may feel more like an EP considering We have already heard nearly 1/2 the album. Still looking forward to it though 🤘🏻
I remember when I turned this on for the first time in my car when it was first released on my way home from work and it was one of my happiest moments of my life tbh. Same feeling I got when I saw Jinjer for the first time live and I can’t wait to see these guys with bad omens and maybe a headliner. Truly groundbreaking and a classic imo. Love this band. 🤘.
False Meridian is one of the best metalcore songs ever written and probably still hold's its place at #1 for me this year \m/
Void Surfacing has got to be my song of the year

This album and "The Death We Seek" by Currents are the best things to happen in 2023. What an absolute unit of an album.
Very similar bands right there IA I would most draw comparison to currents. They are the current kings of ambient metalcore. They just do it next level

this album is exactly what I want from a new metalcore band. I know their are other bands like them but they just hit the spot more for me

This album is so insanely good. I was sure In Flames was gonna be my AOTY and now this is running away with it
As a absolute ST fanboy I see the comparison for me Reverie hits the ST vibe for me for me I actually am worried that the new ST album won't beat this for me to AOTY. But also not. These guys deserve to blow and I'm struggling to understand as why they haven't already. Even TPWBYT has had songs I would not mind skipping. Sundowning for me was one of the first albums for years that I would just let run. Heavener is a piece of art. I would say that modern metalcore does not get better than this! I would say however the similarities and they really are a lot of similarities between IA/ST I always favoured the heavy side so IA speaks more to my musical preference. For me ST are a great gateway band to metal as a whole but even so IA display how to write a disgustingly heavy album but almost make you feel like you are floating on clouds through it. IA most direct comparison I would draw to last album Currents all top tier bands. 2023 is looking Spicy af! 🔥👌
