  • Psychologist Dr. Leslie Dobson analyzes me! Not just me, but we get into her book “The Friends Cleanse” and how our friendships changed in our post pandemic world. Dr. Leslie has also worked with psychopaths and serial killers so naturally I brought up real housewives and what drives them. She shares about working for a decade in the most dangerous prisons and how she can relate to her life as a mom now. Can children who show sociopathic behavior be cured? What is the best way to manage working and stay home moms at your kids school? Can a friendship shift because one of you went on Ozempic? Best ways to deal with a narcissist and the true definition of gaslighting. We get into it all including my personal life. This is juicy!

I'm not wealthy, but I've never gotten jealous or envious of my friends who have become. I get so happy for them! I love to see people do great in life! So for friends who lose weight and become healthy I love it! It's when they change their attitudes, etc. After losing weight or becoming wealthy, that causes a problem.

When I lost weight and got super fit and healthy, I also lost 2 of my closest friends and my sister, who was pregnant at the time was super mean to me. My mom would comment on the broccoli that I was eating and get mad that I was working out and cakes and fattening food in front of me whenever she got the chance. It was crazy. It’s always women who don’t support each other. My stepfather, on the other hand was always very supportive.

Why do women sabotage each other? Especially when you're striving to improve your health & well being? Imo you can do without that toxicity in your life. I hope you find more friends who encourage & support you. I'm losing weight too. We need all the friends we can get. Have a good day.❤️👍

I feel you. When I got Gastric Bypass in 2002 I lost my sister and some friends, and it totally pissed my mother off. She fat shamed me when I was heavy, yet when I lost all the weight she was obsessed with trying to get me to eat sugary, high fat "treats". It's a weird sickness and I don't completely understand it, but I know it involves control and envy. I don't know you personally, but you've got my total support girl!

There's nothing worse than finding out someone you were in a close relationship with is a narcissist. You rethink every conversation, every facial expression, every motive, etc. Its a grieving process and it also just sucks to realize not everyone has the same heart as you. They just don't. Sometimes people just suck, but I look at rejection as God's protection now and am grateful for those who walk away. Let them and thank God for it. ❤

I love your comment so much, I immediately screenshot it & sent it to my daughter. She’s been pretty down over a man who for the 3rd time, broke her heart (I know! I guess it’s just something she had to get out of her system). Anyway - she said she needs to make your comment her lock screen on her phone so she sees it several times a day!
I keep telling her “be glad he’s gone & he’s not your problem (cause he has a lot of them!).
“Rejection is God’s protection” was a great way to put it. I think hearing it from someone other than your mother had more impact.
Just wanted to thank you & hope you’re doing well. ❤

I have an aunt who's a therapist, and I have no idea how she gives therapy because she's so narsacistic and just not a good person, and for some reason this lady reminds me of her. Maybe due to the way she acts as if people should just be discarded, as if human dynamics are black and white....Good people can do bad things at times, but that doesn't mean they can't change or be forgiven. In my opinion, this whole get rid of everyone in your life trend, needs to stop. Yes there's people who are always toxic but that's not the majority. Every human can have a toxic moment, we wouldn't want to be judged solely based on that moment, so we shouldn't do that to others.

Enjoyed this very much. I have noticed a new dynamic in the friend department relating to women in their 40’s, 50,s,60’s. I call it hot potato syndrome. Once you become the hot potato in the group ,just move on…run. If someone doesn’t ever text you back or you’re trying to keep up the friendship, maybe they really don’t like you. So…..or they might be going through a complete life change. Do you really want brunch with someone who is going to take what you say and whisper it down the lane and misconstrue your words to the other group. If you are not invited to something,no big deal. A lot of the time, it really isn’t that much fun.❤

I was in a friend's 3rd wedding , that I'd known for 35 years. I took the weekday off, then she changed it to another weekday, one month later. It was a destination wedding that was scheduled a week before Christmas, when I was having surgery. I left after work and my car broke down on the way. I showed up and followed through. I never received a photo, even though I posed for multie photos. Three months later.... some people are just takers. You can't do enough for them.

And kudos to her for divulging her major weight loss at the end of this top notch interview. It is a major accomplishment but, Dr Leslie has so much more to talk about and it proves how healthy she is that, she didn't make her weight loss the main topic, she said it as a side note and she defined herself as a person much more interesting than how much she weighs and in this weight obsessed society that, was really refreshing!

My daughter who is smart, artistic, hilarious but beats to her own drum had a time where she was on the outs with friends who joined different friend groups once they hit high school and left her behind. Luckily she met some nice friends and a boyfriend when she was 17 that she’s still with at 21 yrs old now :) For a while I was her only friend and it definitely brought us closer.
Also can relate to your dad story. My dad was a Vietnam vet and never talked about it. He would also lose his temper (not abusive) and my mom said he often had nightmares.

I was divorced it was scandalous in our town. But I held my head high. Plus I am funny & personable. My kid wasn't a nerd. He was good looking but thank God he didn't know it. When HS is over & college too. Suddenly yr mom friends r gone. It was ok for me. I recognized the mom's as acquaintances they were never my bff's. It made school for my son a little easier. But then they have to go out & wk...their on their own. They need their own social skills. I raised a decent kid. It's not easy. But I am very proud to say that. No Ivy League College, not a dr or a lawyer but a nice kid.❤

Excellent show today! Thanks. After both of our parents passed away, I was finally freed from my sibling. We had a 10 year age gap. She resented me for being born because she felt I stole her limelight. Ironically, when I was old enough to be useful to her IE: babysitting, cleaning her house, helping her out, she engaged with me. Once I realized that it was a one-sided relationship, I backed way off. She hated that too. I honestly have zero regrets for ending our dysfunctional relationship in fact, all I’ve experienced is peace.

I can totally relate. My older & youngest sister r 10 years apart. We unfortunately lost a sister to a drunk driver she was 21. I was 19. Now I am in my 60's. My oldest sister bullied me daily. I never fought back. My parents were grieving, just tried to keep the peace. My younger sister is 5 yrs younger than me. I protected her. We were so, so close. Not now. The psychopath oldest sister took her under her wing & manipulated the shit out of her after our mom died. Our dad died at 60. I was the favorite, apparently. I wasn't trying to b. My sister who passed was everyone's favorite hands down. Her loss shifted our whole family dynamic. Also common I learned. I moved to another state for my bf. I couldn't b around my home state without my late sister. We were so, so close. Only 2 years apart. I was in shock & compartmentalized. I didn't really process the grief. Were Catholic were just told to pray, no therapy. I married my bf, idk why? Just trying to bring a happy event to my family. Wanted to b a run away bride when I snapped out of it on the day of the Wedding. My parents insisted I go thru with it. Divorced now. Lol But no contact with sisters now is hard but necessary. I have to survive for my adult son. He is a dream. Count yr blessing, I do.

I LOVED this episode. This was such a good listen. I will listen to it again. It’s so great to see Heather and Juicy Scoop just get better and better after Earring Gate and that moment of holding your breath to see if whiny, horrible Jeff would “win”. I can’t even listen to the sound of his voice now.
It was frustrating to see him on WWHL after all of this and to hear he was at BravoCon and has new projects there. I can’t stand to see bad people get these rewards.

Hey Heather, I had a Bestie/Sister for 35yrs !!! We'd been friends since we were 5 ... Until 6 months ago she told me Our Friendship Was Over !!! Why you ask, A mutual friend who'd recently been divorced asked me to plead his case so he could express his feelings for her. I Did. They started dating a short time later & 6 months later she called to tell me "He'd told her" I was getting info from her Daughter ( My God Daughter ) to share with her Ex, My God Daughters Father 🤦🏻‍♀️ Nothing could be further from the truth ! So I understand where you're coming from, I went into a DEEP Depression for months & lost my faith in humanity. 😔 I 🙏🏻 it'll return someday. - Great Show & Cheers From 🇨🇦

I too lost my ride or die bff that I had had since childhood. We were friends all through elementary, middle school high school, even though she went away to boarding school and college. She was there when my father passed away she knows all the secrets, and then one time she came to visit me here in Florida and she brought this new boyfriend’s guy. I could tell he wasn’t into her. She left him behind one night when we went out to eat. We had some drinks at dinner and suddenly she turned mean. She started making a big scene in the parking lot when we were walking from the restaurant and then she was screaming. Take me home right now take me back to the hotel! It was wild. I think she was on some kind of medication and it didn’t mix well with the booze.
I didn’t even get to drop her off at her hotel, because the boyfriend came and picked her up immediately. This was the unforgivable part, I spoke to her brother on the phone after our fight. I was crying. I was hurt that she acted like that. I didn’t know where it was coming from. But since then we haven’t spoken I’ve tried to reach out a few times and she has messaged me back on social media, but she keeps it very superficial. Looking back on the messages, she’ll go to Great Lakes talking about her life, but she doesn’t ask me one thing about my life. I’m still brokenhearted and feel like a mourning the death of my best friend.

I’m a teacher & as a result, never wanted to get involved at my sons’ school b/c it was too close to my job. I was always on the outside. I thought it would change when my oldest went to high school & made the coveted baseball team. Finally, a fresh start, a new set of moms…nope! Most of their boys played travel baseball together & my son didn’t so yet again, we are still on the outside looking in. Fortunately, we are used to it. Looking forward to when the political school stuff is all over.
