Thanks for the response Mike. The concept of this feedback video series is great. Your set/studio looks great by the way, I had a very similar concept in mind for myself...will have to rearrange now :P
Randy is a good dude and the reason I throw the battle shad and citizen. He got me started in this with that 11 in our kayak tournament last year. Hope you keep this going and look forward to some awesome videos this year.
Awesome think tank fellas! You never disappoint with your videos Mike..... always bringing the smoke, thank you brotha! I was gonna mention also, the old and new style deps 250 and the new style 175 have those fins on each side of the hook hangers also (the old 175 just has them on the front), just like the Nates glide you were showing. They do a fair job of breaking up potential hook rash, and another design feature was that they helped to veil the flashing of the split rings. That totally increased the baits realism in my opinion! Okumura really went down the rabbit hole designing the slideswimmers, he set the bar pretty high with it! I love the look of that Nate's glide by the way, phenomenal bait dude!
So glad to see the videos starting back up man . I have all but memorized the old ones lol. Your first hand experience with tactics and gear make your information that you relay to us so valuable. I got my first order of Citizens in during winter. Now that winter is wrapping up and it finally stopped flooding here it's time to go stick 'em here in middle TN with the big swims. I am more a glide bait/hard bait guy but the potential of the weedless citizen really has me excited. best, Colin
After watching your videos I downsized my hooks on my Hinkle. First trip out after doing that stuck my first fish on it. Keep up the great videos. I have already learned a ton.
Good stuff man. Nailed the name too! I think these feed backs will be good to answer some questions and bounce ideas off people. Might be cool to also have stuff written on the website like the older blogs. Gear stuff, break downs, mods. Glad the videos are back!
Thanks for the Feedback on the Feedback, Mike! Your RUclips Channel is my absolute Favorite for quality Content! Keep grinding on those Big Girls! Hope to see more content soon, Brother....
Your awesome Mike, I love your thoughts of thinking and your humor friggin funny 🤣😂 welcome back, and CAN'T wait to see you and thoughts and learn more to catch the monster here in my Massachusetts Rhode Island area 👊👊🍺🍻👍
Love the new shop Mike! I could see this series doing well. It answered a few of my questions. I noticed you mentioned grinding in fish, and adjusting that to your gear. I throw lighter hooks, and splits on my hard swimbaits. The hope is so fish don't notice as much. I've noticed people on youtube don't seem to play their drag with swimbaits. Is there a reason for that? I think I've only lost 4-5 swimbait fish in the past 2 years, and they were barely hooked.
Awesome idea Mike! I hope you are able, amidst everything else, to crank out some vids. I’ve been a fan of your thought processes since the Swimbait Nation days and I appreciate all of your contributions. I’d like to ask you your thoughts on a Bass’ lateral line. More specifically, how important you think the feel of a bait is to a gnarly old girl. After years of reading In-Fishermen writers discuss the topic, hearing Ken Huddleston’s musings in STE on vibrations and the way a bait feels to a fish, and finally, my own experiences......I’m convinced it’s one of the most important attributes a bait can have. I’m of the opinion that “feel” is often the answer to so many questions about baits and bites from trophies. As you said here, there’s a reason those proven baits are proven and still around. At the end of the day, they are getting something right.
Now for the next video, how do you feel about downsizing line size on glide baits to get more movement and response from the bait? For example; throwing a 250 on 17 instead of 25. Sometimes I feel like people are more worried about losing the bait instead of getting the most out of the action...
Besides the battle shads, citizens, and new prototype bait, any new baits coming out from you? Would you ever consider designing a hard bait? Welcome back!!!
Great video. Lots of insights shared concisely. You covered split rigs and double split rings but what about using doubled 65 lb braid on trebles to reduce if not eliminate leverage problems?
Im in northern California yes clear lake area but also some deepwater reserviors. I only really can fish the summers, whats your top baits for that year that are above the eight inch mark.
Question: I’m from NC and have been using the hud 68 and hud bluegill for the past 6 months with lots of success. I will be moving to Utah in 2 weeks. I have now idea about fishing in the west. What are some suggestions for swimbaits in Utah at about 4300ft elevation? Thank you keep up the good work.
I'm in South Carolina where our state record is only 16-7 but I have I've found some much bigger and they have started stocking trout what size swim bait would you recommend the bass are huge
Question do you think big baits work all over the u.s. or just in certain states? I'm here in Indiana and I been experimenting with baits I'm talking 8 inch 9 inch baits and I only had 2 followers. Many people where I'm fishing is only throwing traditional baits
I am just starting with swimbaits. I went to Walmart to take a look. They have Castaics and other swimbaits but I bought the Storm Stocker Trout 5 inch to start. I know they are cheap compared to the ones behind you. I have not caught a fish with them. I am starting to get discouraged. Is it the bait or is it me? I like the soft baits over the hard baits. I have Heavy Berkley Shock rod and a curado.
Hello this might be a weird question. Has anybody thought about using a Californian Tri helix 8’ rod as a swim bait rod???? It’s normally a yellowtail rod 8’ but would it dual purpose as a swim bait rod for bass??
maybe you’ll see this, maybe you won’t. but are you going to restock the WCZ hoodies? I tried to cop one of the black ones and you’ve only got smalls & you’re sold out of the camo ones.
Thanks for the response Mike. The concept of this feedback video series is great. Your set/studio looks great by the way, I had a very similar concept in mind for myself...will have to rearrange now :P
My man, you should make that savage gear rod review, thinking about snagging one.
I really like the effort you put ! Big fan
...
Does he have a video of him modifying the hud I would like to see it?
I want to add - thanks for the kind words. For the record, Mike Gilbert said, "...[Randy] nice dude, good fisherman". My life is now complete.
Yesssss! Dude, I've missed your insight. Happy to see you back.
THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND...HES BACK 🤘💯...this just made my entire WEEK!!!!
We appreciate your input! Thank you Mike.

Thanks Mike, for the response and insight into the snap sizes!

Great job brotha....hands down best swimbait channel out there for ideas that no one's brought up yet.

Thanks for the video, we all appreciate it! I would love a segment on Wake Baits and what you think of them
There's a lot of smart people watching your videos, I think this series will be killer!!
Nice to have a new video from you. Always learning something new. Thank you

Thanks really like hearing your perspective on things. I always get excited when I see you put out a new vid. Keep it up.
Great ideas, insight and bass catching knowledge! Thanks Mike!!
Man so much knowledge. Thank u so much for sharing.

Love the videos man. Keep em coming
Hell yeah Mike! VA is where I’m from and I see that phoneyfrogs glide! Such a killer bait. Also, take Gil fishing and have him toss your baits!
Keep them going.......love your stuff man!
Love the vid as always. Keep at it Mike.
On the next video could you possibly cover basics on when to throw hard baits or glides vs soft baits? Also any theories on moon phases would be great

yep awesome!!
Loved it!!! Great vid
Love Your Baits And Content Cheers!! :))
Are you going to make a weedless trout bait like the battle shad but in a trout pattern. It would be a sick bait and I would 4 sure buy one.
Thomas LaRochelle he posted one on instagram not to long ago. Prototype stages
Besides the battle shads, citizens, and new prototype bait, any new baits coming out from you? Would you ever consider designing a hard bait? Welcome back!!!

Good feedback
The legend
I have 9 lakes in my town and the next town and the bass are very different in each lake
From 15:00 -17:00 got me super pumped up lol
Can you make a vid how to rig a 8in hudd to be weedless or show us what it looks like after your done modding it.
Can you do a video about how to do that Weedless Hudd?
Im in northern California yes clear lake area but also some deepwater reserviors. I only really can fish the summers, whats your top baits for that year that are above the eight inch mark.

I’m curious what knot are you using on your snaps. I find the San Diego jam loosens after a while and fails.
I'm in South Carolina where our state record is only 16-7 but I have I've found some much bigger and they have started stocking trout what size swim bait would you recommend the bass are huge
Yeah, try a Ned rig if you wanna downsize. Or Marabou jig ,.1/32 oz.
Hi,what baits are 5 and 8 from the left bottom row...
Question do you think big baits work all over the u.s. or just in certain states? I'm here in Indiana and I been experimenting with baits I'm talking 8 inch 9 inch baits and I only had 2 followers. Many people where I'm fishing is only throwing traditional baits

has anyone ever considered using a loop knot in place of snaps?
Have you always used lighter tackle when it comes to hard baits?
What gear ratio do you recommend for someone throwing the citizen, a rig, and glide baits like the bull shad or s waver ?
Would you use any braid
👍🏻👍🏻
🍿 hell yea
maybe you’ll see this, maybe you won’t. but are you going to restock the WCZ hoodies? I tried to cop one of the black ones and you’ve only got smalls & you’re sold out of the camo ones.
Yes, in production now.
What about finesse swimbait fishing
🔥
HOPE YOU STAY CLEAN THIS TIME
You want to see a sick paint job on a glide bait? I mean like super realistic.
No
@@bobsuddarth9692 are your panties too tight?
Very informative, very cool, sub your way, have a great season from Forrest Outdoors. Check us out when you have time.

Big sbs are overrated. Glidebaits are even more overrated.
