I always thought that was the silliest thing I’d ever heard. Now as an adult, I am dance and theatre instructor. And Eminem is one of the most preferred artists for my hip hop students.

When dre's talking into the mic. He was almost rapping just by talking.

Anybody know what song that beat is from? I haven't heard it in ages and can't remember the name
love Dre sm that man can’t stop himself from flowing and rhyming even when just doing a speech
Em starin at the camera an like :
Don't mess with me,look.
Dre is fing hilarious 😂😆😂😆😂😂😆
I love dre and Em's friendship. ❤🎉
before his first music video no one knew he was white at all back then there wasnt social media and em was just barley getting notoriety so he wasnt on tv or video cameras either 💀
and yet racists try to make the point he is only liked by white kids because he is white, when in reality he is liked by black and white kids not because he is white but because he is dope asf.
It's crazy that in 2024 some are still playing the skin color game.
Now that you mention it. I remember that now. Even though I was a small kid at the time😂
That's wrong. He obviously wasn't on TV before he got discovered by Dre, but he was most definitely being filmed OFTEN cuz he was always involved in a lot of legendary well documented rap battle tournaments. There's tons of video footage of the dude before he blew up. Wouldn't have been hard at all to find out if he was white. All they'd had to do was ask. "Oh yea Em? That's that white boy killing people in rap battles across the country"
@@SuperCisMan ik that but obviously it wasnt well known in the hiphop community until he started to get out there and show his face more the concept of trendy videos didnt exist back then it was just circles who were apart of that scene and thats it regular hiphop fans and music fans in general had no idea he was white until like his first music video that was previewing everyday on mtv and his songs were being played on radio stations before his first music video
@chrisboricua1911 just pointing out that he was most definitely being recorded by video cameras before fame, since you stated that he wasn't.
Anyone else thought shady starring was a picture at first
That's one good thing about social media like RUclips, if an artist is loved, they will know before they pass away from a drug overdose or gun violence, or devastating divorce.
Seeing nice things about you before it's too late is a blessing to behold.
😶😶
Wow, didn't know people died from divorce. And honestly, what kind if comment is this? Artists know they're loved by the music that is played on all types of platforms, the music that sells, the merch that sells, the tours that sells. My God your comment was dark. Everybody dies and those are not all reasons they do. Not every artist dies from the reasons your comment zeroes in on. Wow, just wow, mind blown at the ignorance. You need to surround yourself with better people if that's how they be dying in your head.
@@truestory_4Just let the person express themselves. They probably just mean its a blessing to be able to see the social media about u if u r loved as an artist vs. Back before the internet
@@truestory_4SMH on that comment! That's the weirdest thing I've ever read..
I very nearly got kicked out of high school for listening to him just prior to his explosion into mainstream awareness. I don’t think anyone was ready for what was going to happen- he made an incredible impact on the genre and seemed to do so casually.
Why did they want to kick you??? That makes no sense, were u blasting his music in public? If that's the case then it's ur fault lol
@@sparklingwota8560 No… we were on a field trip, and I had brought my cd player along. The teacher was sitting directly in front of me while on the bus and could hear a bit of the music coming from my headphones. It had started annoying him and so he asked what I was listening to. He ended up putting the headphones on and listening. Well, it was “disgusting and inappropriate” apparently. He confiscated the cd, and turned it over the assistant principal. But, the A.P. ultimately decided not to suspend me. I was just no longer allowed to bring my cd player to school any longer.
@@DEADisBEAUTIFUL u know I'm in high school and my teacher she is a big fan of Eminem lol , I knew Eminem since I was a kid but only his hits , but my teacher she suggested me to listen to relapse, mmlp etc . Now I'm also a big fan , our situations are like complete opposite lmao
@@sparklingwota8560 I live smack dab in the middle of the Bible Belt. I’ve always found it humorous how people around here react to music. Eminem didn’t see the same kind of hate that Marilyn Manson did here, but it was close! Manson was the devil come to take the children to the pits of hell, and Eminem was a deviant who was going to lead the children straight to a life of drugs. I always thought that was the silliest thing I’d ever heard. Now as an adult, I am dance and theatre instructor. And Eminem is one of the most preferred artists for my hip hop students.

My insane teenage crush on slim shady pops right back up whenever I see old clips of him. When I tell you, I only dated guys that looked like him for a solid decate and wrote him so many letters you’ll think I’m nuts, but I’m still like, I would drop any man for him in a second. Brilliant brain, sexy and hilarious. I memorized all his song before I didn’t even understood english fully lol. Miss the Slim shady era

My husband used to spin and play with him and D12 and back in the day when he first hit the scene, him being white wasn’t really or ever has been a controversy. It didn’t matter because he’s one of the goats. Dude shook the rap scene because of the things he said, not the way he looks.
You're deluded if you don't think he gets treated different because he's White, even Eminem himself calls that bs out.
Yes sure, that story is totally true
Come on even his peers say stupid shit like he’s no rapper because that’s black music for the black culture and a lot suggested even thou he was a huge success that it would be a pretty swift career But time & time again he proved to the 🌍 that although predominantly black artists he a white skinny boy who was bullied at school and in his home loved hip hop and he is the Best ,, and fools that say he didn’t know the gangsta life 🙃😵💫 he went through more shit in his own home never mind the streets. He found a great friend in Proof he actually gave him his first pair of Nike shoes because Ems mother didn’t give a shit if he was bullied over his shoes or hairstyle. He is not just a rapper he can make a word from two or 3 words & make it make sense Genius but will there ever be another mc who is white that will come close to Eminem & the records he smashed idk but I hope so because it really is dumb to say it’s black peoples music when even artists like Lil Wayne admitted that in some cities when on tour
all he can see is thousands like a sea of white people & sometimes it’s just all colours & walks of life

His music has got me through so much in my life for real. The toughest times in my life and his music just did it for me. Motivated me.

It doesn’t matter if he is white, black, purple, green, orange, or tiger striped. Not everything in life is about race! Sometimes it’s just about the music! Take Goths for instance. We do not give a shit what ethnicity you are. We just want to know where you bought your stompy boots and if you are having a good time.

@sloshed_850 let me ask you. Given the context of how rap was. Is it really that offensive for someone to say "i was surprised". It wasnt "white people cant rap" or "i changed my mind on hiring him" it was "i was surprised". Thats it. Whys that a problem?
