Does the 2.4 -4cly make the Cherokee feel sluggish, poor on ramp acceleration?

The 2.4L 4-cylinder engine in the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus does have some limitations when it comes to acceleration, especially during high-demand situations like merging onto highways or climbing steep inclines. With 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque, it’s designed more for fuel efficiency than performance.
For on-ramp acceleration, some might find it a bit underpowered compared to the optional 3.2L V6 engine, which offers better responsiveness. However, in normal city driving and light off-road situations, the 2.4L generally feels adequate.
If you’re considering this model and plan on frequent highway merging or heavy loads, the V6 option might be a better fit. Otherwise for everyday driving the 2.4L feels adequate for highway driving.
