- hot damn! it's a new year!
writing that sentence cracked me up. it reminds me of that scene in the end of the movie O Brother Where Art Thou? when the band of thieves is on stage and singing and that dude busts through the room and says, "Hot damn! It's The Soggy Bottom Boys!" and it's a goal of mine to have anyone run into a room where I'm playing a show (one day, post covid) and say that for me.
Anywho, how are you guys holding up? the new year treating you right so far? if not, I'll bonk it.
even though our struggles and situations have an easy time transferring over to the new year, I'm grateful for the positive reminders and celebrations of the passage of time. seasons change. it never stays winter. unless you lived in narnia for a bit.
And with that, I hope we can all find things to be grateful for in 2020 and things to look forward to in 2021. It's not a simple task for everyone, though I tend to think that its importance grows with its difficulty.

Amazing! I used to play this song in my high school band, and I always forget how good it is. Of course, you played it amazingly, and nailed those guitar riffs!
It makes me so sad when an entertainment franchise, even if it's one I like, taints a wonderful song with its own influence to the point where you can't say anything about the song without being drowned in references to the entertainment franchise
