What an incredibly, well-made, brilliantly-acted piece of cinematic art this is. A true American Historical Document that showcases how we are the frontrunners of cinematic arts. Bravo.
Imagine waking up at 2am and you hear a noise in the kitchen. You go to inspect but nothing is there. You come back to bed and get tucked it but feel something grab you foot. The lights flash from the thunderstorm outside showing the faces of these!
Which is a good example of why the movie sucks. The trading cards were gross, but they still had actual jokes. The movie is just gross, without any jokes.

@Joshua Fischer I wrote a story about it. If you're interested, I can send you the anthology it's published in, and you can see just how torturous it can really get.

I too had a few of those cards as a kid in the 80s but they didn't mean anything to me. And honestly, even I could see at 7 or 10, or whatever, that a movie based on this over reaction to the phenomenon of the Cabbage Patch Kids was a bad idea. No interest then. Only morbid curiosity now. Not enough to sit through this whole movie without considering alternatives to existing. Now all life is precious. So please handle your personal and emotional problems with the help of friends, family and licensed professionals. To repeat, all life is precious... Too precious to waste your time on this foolishness.
As a kid this was my favorite movie . My dad grew up with GPK and got me and my brother into them. We collected the cards and watched the movie every Friday. Eventually he passed and me and my brother inherited his collection from when he was young.
My mom told me when she watched when she was little it gave her the chills because these characters look so creepy that's the only movie they watched everyday
Just today I gave my parents four 80's GPK cards, three for my late aunt Connie, and one for my mom, Angie. Glandular Angela 😁 Love the nostalgia! Love GPK
As a child of the 80's, my only recollection of "The Garbage Pail Kids" was some cards that a few kids had at school. Thank god I never saw this movie. The 80's had so many harmless classic feel good kids movies, and then you'll get an outlier like this that is absolutely balls to the wall batshit demonic and terrifying.
@Servants Research Ministry Did Cabbage Patch Kids actually have a TV show, though? I don't remember. I had the books and the dolls, when I was a little kid in the late 80's, but I don't remember an actual TV show. It's funny because I actually have a bedroom cabinet that my grandmother bought me at a garage sale years ago, that still has Garbage Pail Kids stickers stuck on the inside of the doors from the previous owner. That's the only reason I even know what they are.
@Servants Research Ministry Now that you mention it, I think I vaguely remember a movie or TV show or something - it was the origin story where the kid finds the cabbage baby growing in the forest. I just don't remember them ever doing songs about sharing and co-operating and stuff. That seems like more of a Barney thing to me. I was born in 85. Lol, you didn't by any chance put your stickers inside a white dresser cabinet in New Jersey, did you? Lol. I'm actually looking at them right now.
this is the only part i remember from this movie, my mom really liked the garbage pail kids as a teen and collected the cards, when i became 6 she thought it's a good idea to show me this movie, what a mistake.... at least this song is super catchy and actually kinda has a tune to it
