I was the girl that the naked guy was hiding under her feet, as I was sitting on the wall on my birthday, lol! A deadhead. You actually made eye contact with me, laughing, as you came back onstage! It made my year! Love, Stacy.🎉
Even on this super easy song, Billy Cobham plays it flawlessly. Love all of his perfectly placed fills. It's what separates a great drummer from a perfect drummer.
I saw them in Atlanta in a small place called the Agora ballroom. I was on the front row sitting at a cocktail table. We had a waitress waiting on us bringing us drinks 6 feet from bobby. When Bobby would do his "Ha" sound as he used to do, his spit would spray us all over and even in our drinks. We drank them anyway. I always wanted to meet Bobby but I guess I will settle for having drinks with his spit in them. True story.
I saw Bobby & The Midnites and The Jerry Garcia Band on October 30th 1982 at the Mesa Amphitheater (Arizona). What an awesome show! Billy Cobham got a standing ovation when he walked out on the stage at the beginning of the show. It was Halloween weekend and the Who were performing one of their farewell performances on the following night in Tempe.
I went to sooooo many of the Midnite shows, they were the best!!! I had so much fun that that time frame of my life became a standard for fun!!! Jonette
anything you need...you could get with a smile! Best ever band of phenominal musicians. I mean come on...listen to billy cobham fills!!!!!! and that snare sounds so angelic!!
Great to see this again! I saw this band 7 times 30 years ago. Bobby Cochran is an amazing guitar player. He's Eddie Cochran's nephew. Fun times in the Bay Area!
Anybody have a laptop? Please show this video to my brother Mike (Spike) Konkle. I showed him this on a VHS tape I had. He loves this song! I love him! A true brother! Ron
Cochran sounds real good on this tune. Hard to give him a break when you are used to listening to Jer... but he's a great guitarist. This band played some cool tunes.
I must say, JGB in the 1980s was much better than Bobby's various '80s experiments, IMHO. I think Bobby was a listening to too much Fleetwood Mac or Styx at the time. Jerry was much more of a purist to the Bay Area sound. Still, the Midnights were a talented group.

A real gem, straight to the heart of you, delivered with style and grace.
Ace, anyone?
Really love Ace! It's an album that every song is great. Although, it's basically the Dead backing him on that one.
Best rhythm section in a Bobby band for sure... Cobham AND Alphonso Johnson.... HUGE

OK NOW I"M GOING TO PICK A SHOW FROM 83 AND SEE IF BOBBY'S HAIR IS THE SAME.
Jealous. I'm too young.
This lineup vs other bands… unfair.
What the fuck were Cobham and Johnson thinking?
In 2020 I'm thinking this rocks but for some reason people actually at this show were all sitting down. How about that?
This is my favorite Weir period
festival
