Thank you for sharing about your son. My two boys are on the spectrum. They are grown now but I remember a therapist telling me when they were little all the things they wouldn't be able to do. I decided then that if there was something they wanted to try or do,we would find a way to make it happen. They have had successes and things that didn't quite work out...just like every other person on this planet. I'm proud to say that as adults they are both working and they share an apartment and they have good days and bad days "just like everyone else". My boys have always been and continue to be an inspiration to me as well!! Thanks so much for sharing!!

Hey Katie -- loved your video!! You always make me laugh & girl, that's a gift!! Loved it when you talked about Quilter's Station. That's my LNS; it's practically in my backyard. She has the most wonderful quilt shop & has loads of x-stitch too; it's great. That pattern you got from her is to die for. She has it hanging up on the wall; it's amazing!! I know yours will be amazing too!! I was just at a x-stitch retreat last week that she put on--amazing!! Alma of Blackbird Designs was one of the designers; her project was so cool!! In her trunk show she had her model of "Birds of a Feather" & the antique it was based on. It was so beautiful!! Rita has x-stitch retreats twice a year--the next one is in April. You need to come--it's so much fun!! You'll have fun at your retreat in Oct, I'm sure!! Sorry you all have been sick, but glad you're doing better!! Stay well; see you in 2 wks!!

Hi Denyse!! I would love to visit one day! I can’t imagine getting to go to a retreat there and having Alma there!! Sounds amazing! When Carol showed me that quilt pattern I knew I needed it. I’ve never seen anything like it. Maybe after my youngest graduates this year I’ll be able to go to a retreat far away.

Katie, we're on the same page. Stacey Nash needle book - before you even said it, I said I wouldn't do the face. The rest is adorable though and the colors are beautiful. Haven't done it yet, but I do have the Flowerpot Rollup by Lad-d-da. Think I'll just frame it as a sampler though, leaving off that top triangle. I'm using it for a specific project, but I'm making some cross stitch wood ornaments and my Mom suggested putting it on them, so I'm going to give it a go. Hi Katie. It’s great that you are considering to take up knitting. Along with the other mentions, check out Staci Perry of Very Pink Knits. She is a super knowledgeable designer and teacher. I learned a ton from her and when I need to cast on for something I don’t do often, I always return to her channel for a refresher. Btw, that wooden square with all the holes and slots in it is a knit gauge. The holes will help you figure out what size needles you have and the slots help you figure out your knitting gauge (how many stitches per inch you are knitting at on a particular pair of needles). You want to knit things that fit so it’s important to know that measurement. Don’t worry about perfection, just enjoy the learning process. Maybe a nice scarf would be a good start! It was great catching up with your projects.

When you decide to stitch the Hello Halloween Sampler by Teresa Kogut be aware of the charting errors. The ghosts are charted in the wrong color, that is mentioned on the chart. What isn't mentioned is that the 1st ghost, located with the marching cats, was not charted. I am close to finishing this stitch and have charted that 1st ghost for myself. Also, I started this chart by stitching the curved border line around the edge. When I got to the last side I could see somethng was wrong. At that point I discovered that though the sets of lines in the border look equal, they were not. The 2 lines under the pairs of cats are 25 & 26 stitches. The end bars are 10 & 11 stitches and the slanted bars are 6 & 7 stitches.
