I just went ahead and bought some true frontside skis. Blizzard Thunderbird R 15 WB's. I have all mountain skis and powder ski's so for those icy hard pack conditions I wanted something different.
I love my 2016 Stormrider 88s... I did have a big gash in the bases but you fixed them so I can't wait to get back on them.. I also love my 2019 Stormrider 105s.. I am going to hold off to see if they fixed the blowout problem.. I heard that they do have new construction so hopefully... I do still like to baby them..
I would like to get on the ZX just to see how it is.. I saw a review on the 100 and I liked that review.. I know that sometimes the different waist widths can really make the skis perform differently.. My FX 96 HP had no metal and it was too reactive for me.. It sounds like when they went back to putting metal that took away that reactiveness.. I would have to see how reactive the ZX is.. I skied with someone on the Green FX HP (108 I think) and they really could ski it..
I wouldn't mind getting on the Kendo 88.. Last season I got on the Mantra 102 and I really liked it.. I have 3 skis in that width range already.. One day this season I would like to try demoing 3 skis.. I would give them the Peak 10 test (3 runs each).. Hopefully the day would not get above 25 degrees.. I would probably start with Mantra M6, then Kastle FX 96 TI, and then Maverick 96 TI.. I would do it in that order from hard pack to starting to soften up but hopefully not much..
