  • On June 27th, 2024, Canadian Pacific #2816 continues its long journey home back to Canada as we retrace the route north from Kansas City to Ottumwa, IA. Compared to the southbound run, 2816 was really moving as twists and turns throughout the day in the rural countryside. In addition, there's a few moments of freight and light engine moves at the Norfolk Southern diamonds in Birmingham prior to the special train's departure.

    Looks like they've been busy adding signals and CTC. I cannot believe that track was "Dark" with track warrants until the 2020s! This is their prime transcontinental route now.

      Yeah, I laughed when the merger was announced because of this. They really want to put all their faith in a single-track secondary line they barely used?
