I’m interviewing for light head for our black box play and I’m super nervous. Your videos over the light board makes me feel more confident if I get the position thank you
I really appreciate all your videos! I picked up stage managing during the pandemic doing virtual improv and sketch shows and then made the transition to in-person productions. So I dont have any formal training on the ETC boards so this is super helpful to know how to program :)
Instead of the super-mega-fancy augment 3D view that is difficult to move around in, try just using a magic sheet bird’s eye view of the plot. It’s basically exactly the same as your paper hang card/plot, but it’s on the screen and the light symbols can be linked to intensity/color. You can even then print out out in vector format complete with labels for dimmer number, gels, scrollers, top hats, barn doors, etc. That deletes a lot of paperwork. That way you always have a super simple 2D, interactive representation.
Hi Corinne, I am in a school system with the ETC Element 5JV20F4. The system has been reset how do reconnect with dimmer board. Sliders are reading but not communicating to dimmer rack. Thank you Larry Migliore

You can also add thin little pointing lines to each light to represent where they’re pointed.
Amazing explanation and easy to follow! Can do a video explaning how to save a light that goes ON and OFF (blinking) to a submaster?
You are awesome - from one theatre teacher to another. Thank you! What is the name of that Touch Screen, we need that!
