    So I have decided to take the next step with my home brewing and put some beer in kegs.
    Problem is, I don't really know what I am doing...so maybe you can give me some tips!
    Cheers to great beers!

    Thanks for the helpful video. Looking to start with a mini keg later this summer myself. Cheers!

    Fill sanitized keg with beer, attach gas, purge a few times to ensure air is out of keg. 14psi and let sit for a week cold in the fridge. If you can wait 30psi and shaking every hour for 24hrs then pour to check carbonation.

    I was taught that bottling/kegging, just like vacuuming, should be done naked for tradition. I dont know where or when the tradition started, but my boyfriend loves to help me clean the house and keg beer now...

      Are you doing an instructional video on this?

    Just wondering I am gonna buy two mini kegs one to store in the fridge and one to store in a closet. How do I do this so my home brew doesn't go off? Do I need a tap for both? Do I need to add co2 to the one I am storing in the closet?

    G'day BeerHealer. Moving to kegs is a brilliant idea. Definitely need a larger CO2 tank. You'll quickly get tired of changing over those tiny canisters. The small kegs are great for going mobile but I would invest in a couple of 19L 'corny' kegs for home tapping. All the best with kegging!

      The larger c02 has been a common theme for comments today...i am gonna do it! Just need a few connections to make it happen

    I would purge the keg and tubing before racking the beer .

    Nice video mate ,if you can release some pressure before serving .try it at 2 psi for serving .because you haven't got to far to push it into your glass .also pressure may change in the keg depending on how cold the beer is

    Shorten the hose you put into the with a measured & weighted hose to keep it near the bottom. The super long hose you inserted could be all curled up & only be 4" from the top not allowing you to empty the keg...Good luck & keep experimenting that's what makes good beer...Cheers Bruce from Aussie

    Not sure what kind of mini keg carbonation cap you got, but I just ordered one from AliExpress that had both a gas ball lock valve on top and a 1/4" hose barb on the bottom. I'm thinking that attaching a 2 micron metal air stone to the hose should increase the gas surface area much more than just dumping the gas at the top of the keg and allow for rapid carbonation in minutes rather than hours or days.

    Thank you for a great and helpful video, please consider doing a followup on; 1. Did the beer turn out well carbonated? 2. Did you find out if you need two cranes in order to carbonate both? Best regards. Happy drinking!

      Cheers mate! I am pretty sure I will do another video along these lines, but those beers have been consumed!
      I am still learning how to force carb and how to tweak things to my liking. I haven't had one beer yet that I thought was perfect.

    Hey there, I know this video has been up for a while, but would you be able to comment on how you like this as a system, and maybe what kind of problems you ran into? I'm considering getting into this kind of kegging system myself, but am not sure yet on what would be a good kit to get started.
    Maybe you already talked about this in another video, but if so, that must have been one I haven't seen yet. Thanks in advance, and keep the videos coming!, It is great to see someone else struggling with homoebrewing for a change. ;p

      I love it! It took a little bit of trial and error to carbonate them correctly. There is another video of mine that shows how to force carb them and it works a treat!

    Don’t fill all the way to the top, leave about 25mm headspace as this will help with your carbonation

    I have a similar setup with a 128 Ounce Container. I haven't used it yet, but I don't know if I just fill it up and then carbonate it to 15 or 20 psi....and what if I have flat beer in the fridge? Can I bring it back to life with CO2? I have so many questions and so little answers

    • @BeerHealer
      @BeerHealer  5 лет назад +1

      ThunderousTeabag you can do a slower carbonation, and there are so many methods out there, depending on how impatient you are.
      I’m not sure about re-carbonating flat beer? If it’s been flat since you put it into keg, that’s fine.

      I am kind of thinking to head towards keg priming for future beers...takes a bit more time, but might be more successful!

      Beer Healer I've heard 30psi for 1hr roll for 60seconds then set to 10psi and leave for at least 4hrs. Going to try it on my next batch

    Once the keg has sat over night and carbonated, can this go straight into bottles?

    • @BeerHealer
      @BeerHealer  6 лет назад

      I would have thought you served from the keg? Or just go straight from fermenter to bottles?
      Why would you go mini keg to bottles? I am confused?

    When I screw in the 16 gram cylinders, a lot of gas escapes (even if I screw it in quickly) and the gas is almost spent.

      @@FructusSum thanks I'll look into getting one a different washer. I carbonated a small batch yesterday and it worked ok, but the highest I could get was like 17 psi.

    I've never tried the 5 liter kegs but for my 5 gallon kegs it's 20 psi for 3 days in the fridge, and then let it mellow out for a week after that.
