3 daisy chained together work great for a 23 litre batch. You can just take a keg at a time when needed. The leg from an old snowmobile suit keeps it cold for several hours. Small fire extinguisher wall mount holds the soda stream tank quite well.
I appreciate that last tip of drinking right out of it!! 😅 I just tested my set up. I have 2 batches of the same beer going. 2 weeks apart. So when the first batch finished I bottled into these, chilled them down for a day, then carbonated with the off gas from the second batch. worked like a charm. I also used the off gas to push some beer for tasting. 😂
@@ragimundvonwallat8961 yeah really like it. It’s perfect for a portable keg for parties. I just stuff it in a bucket of ice to keep it cool and use a soda stream adapter for gas
@@graintoglass haha. I saw that after. Great minds, I suppose... Also, just wanted to let you know your RUclips channel lead me to your store and it seem great; definitely plan to make some purchases from there in the near future. Cheers!
I can't wait to try this! Any chance you'll do a cleaning video with recommendations for how and how often to disassemble and clean all the various components?
Good idea for a video. Personally I would rinse it well every time it's empty and then soak it with warm water and pbw for an hour. Hook up co2 and run the pbw solution through the beer line and let it soak as well. Then rinse well and push some clean water through the beverage line. Cheers
hi can you fermentate in the bottle with sugar to make it bottle conditioned and if you can is it best to use the taping head or the normal top and then put the taping head on after conditoning (sorry i am new to all this sorry if i have butchered the names lol)
Hi, you definitely could. I would probably just use the black cap it comes with since I think the tapping head might release some of the co2 if the pressure gets to high. Cheers
Hi this looks great do you guys ship to Australia, I don’t drink alcohol and think this would be good for carbonating and dispensing non alcoholic beer.
how long would carbonation take if you were carbonating with a sodastream tank? i usually bottle carbonate/condition my brew so i'm a total noob with kegging
Hi, it will depend on the PSA you set your regulator and the temperature of the beer. If your beer is in the fridge @ 10psi it will take 2 weeks or so. If you want to speed it up I do 30psi for 2 days and then lower it to 10psi. At that point it's mostly carbonated. Cheers
So this is for pressurization and not carbonation? Also, what is the overall height of the bottle and hardware on top? Thanks, really enjoy your videos.
In the video you say the 16oz cartridges aren’t big enough to carb 8litres, but if I used one after another (2 in total), I’d tgat possible for carbing?
Using this system do you carbonate using priming sugar in the 8 Litre keg & then use the Sodastream to dispense or just use the Sodastream bottle to carbonate & dispense? TIA
hey, everyone writes that you should carbonate beer at 13psi for 2 weeks, but that's the rule when beer is in the fridge. Is there a difference if I keep beer at room temperature after bottling? should I increase psi or carbonation time?
Hi, if you are bottling and using priming sugar or carbonation tablets you need to keep the beer at room temperature. If you are kegging at room temperature you need to increase the psi from your co2 tank quite a bit as co2 doesn't go into solution when the liquid is warm. Cheers
Assuming your kegged beer is in a fridge you would want 10psi for most beer styles. That would require around 8 feet of beer line. If you want a shorter beer line you would want to step down the psi once the beer is carbonated depending on the length. There are charts for this online depending on temperature of the beer and length/diameter of tubing. Cheers
How much luck have people had serving it laying down in the regular fridge? It tends to roll all over the fridge unless you make little feet / doorstops for them. I also felt I needed to remove the pressure release valve and replace it with just a soda bottle cap as that can leak when the top is filled since it is on its side.
@@graintoglass thanks. Will play w/ it more. Unclear if there is greater pressure with liquid pushing against it that just the gas. Also, I was told not to store the CO2 tank on its side as you didn't want liquid CO2 flowing into the regulator. I always propped the tank up a little on an incline to prevent that.
@@graintoglassah, you have the tank laying completely horizontal at 10:40 in the video. Might be worth calling that out since people see it as an instructional example
My kit just arrived, and I am currently testing it out. However, I have a question: Is it safe to place the SodaStream tank in my fridge? Additionally, I've observed a small leak in the pressure release valve. Consequently, if I lay the tank on its side, some of the cider seems to leak out. Is it normal?
Hi, you can place the sodastream tank in your fridge but it is recommended to keep it upright. The prv should not leak at all. I would recommend unhooking the co2 tank, purging the pressure in the keg and then unscrewing the prv. Then screw it back in. If it still leaks contact us via phone or contact page on our website. Cheers
Im new to kegging and want to try this system with a stout, but want to use a nitro/co2 mix. Is it possible to use that gas mix or could the nitro have an effect on the PET keg? Cheers
They don't mention it in the product description on their website or in the user manual so I don't think so. Maybe try sending Kegland an e-mail and ask? Cheers
I don't see why you couldn't. I usually ferment at around 15-20psi. You might want to use a floating dip tube instead of the tubing and filter they include though it might be tricky finding one that fits in the opening. Cheers
It’s nice but I’ve lost confidence in kegland. I purchased their 1bbl kegmentor and had to return it twice because of horrible porosity in the welds and it’s make in China. I’ve seen som bad reviews on that mini regulator. What’s your experience with their mini regulator. I’m curious to learn more about its quality and if it’s also made in China. I would think kegland products would be made in Australia not China.
Pretty sure everything Kegland makes is manufactured in China. We've sold many of the mini regulators and have had no issues. The quality is in line with the cost IMO.
I fill it with warm water and PBW and let it soak for an hour. Then I hook up co2 and push the cleaner through the beer lines and tap. After that a good water rinse followed by some star san. Cheers
That’s like the perfect size to make a dispensing beer backpack!
Yup, and compared to a SS keg it's incredibly light. Perfect for taking camping or to a friends place.

Do you use the included dip tube to transfer the beer once it's done or something different? Cheers
@@graintoglass I do use the dip tube. I don't dry hop in these kegs so I simply leave the beer on the trub and drink it without transferring.
