In Eurovision all singers should sing in their mother language. If all sing in English it' a British Song contest. Different Countries, different cultures. W diversity.
@Sabrina Filiputti Countries are allowed to not sing in their mother language because many of them would be disadvantaged if they did. Languages like Italian are "privileged" by being pleasant to listen to, but objectively: if Germany, Denmark, Sweden etc...were forced to sing in their own language they might lose many points cause many consider their languages really ugly. I'm more likely to like a song if the language it's in doesn't hurt my brain lol.

I’m actually surprised that Italy hasn’t had the most wins ever
they dipped from the competition for 13 years, which included some weaker winners so I feel pretty sure Italy would have picked up some wins in the 2000's. but Italy is definitely gunning for that record, we'll probably see another win in the next 3-5 years. lets just hope they can host it a little more smoothly lol

Just saw Eurovision 2023 here on RUclips. I'm a nobody from Asia but I'd say this is the most beautiful song in the whole competition. Probably the most beautiful I have heard in this current decade.

The Italian melody cannot be copied by anyone. Italians have it in them since the opera librettos of the 1800s. Italians have melody in their blood. And, if you notice, they know how to make songs that invite you to sing... unlike others

Marco is the most beautiful male voice we have in Italy, he is known as a very sweet, sensitive and emotional guy, which makes him even more special.
Experts call him an alien, because what he does with his voice doesn't sound out of this world, it's very difficult for a human being to do, he has perfect technique and he can play with his voice by changing it rapidly during the song.
Here he was very excited, sometimes his voice and hands trembled, but this makes everything more beautiful and true, it reaches into everyone's hearts.
The songs presented in Sanremo are meant to be the best Italian song and not for Eurovision, where a different style often prevails (funny/trash songs), but this is real music and above all it's not a copy like the song that won 🤦♀️
The song is about the inner conflict we all struggle with, that's why he feels the song very much in his heart while singing it. The text speaks of two parts of the same person, the conscious and the unconscious that talk to each other, the life of dreams that collides with that of reality (just "Due vite", "two lives").
Truly a deep and emotional meaning, a beautiful music that together with the text take the audience into a dreamlike scenario. Furthermore Marco is an excellent interpreter, this makes the difference and makes this song perfect, because he transmits all the emotions to the audience that watches and listens to him, even to a foreign audience that does not understand the Italian language and this says everything about what a great artist is Marco.

Italy's the only big 5 member who really takes Eurovision seriously.. I mean, they send amazing songs every single year and italian language is perfect for music
I've read by many many not Italians that Italian is perfect for music... And you're right since everyone uses Italian way of pronouncing vowels when they sing. The Italian vowels are called "pure" so maybe you didn't know, but you all perceived that "musicality" that is intrinsic to Italian language due to the fact that everyone use the pure vowels when singing.

I just loved how they just let him sing by himself with nothing but his raw emotion to convey the song. No crazy lighting or backdrops, just a dude singing his song. And then the fact that they put two guys on a trampoline in the background and never put them in focus. They were just there as a nice touch so something so simple and perfect. They really didn't need anything else. Incredible.

There's a certain nuance between athletics and art on a stage. Athletes also get emotional during performances, but there's no artistic content in sport, just saying.
