    Great review wish you included the time spy score so we can use the value against other 4090 laptops and truly see how gimped the 115W is. Also, for next time have the gaming benchmarks be alongside other laptops with similar specs to make better judgements on which laptop is more optimized.

      also, running the benchmarks with turbo mode turned off would be good too. allow us to see how much extra noise the turbo mode produces against its performance advantage over other modes.

    I purchased the 4080 version and can confirm it runs just as hot, I ran it side by side playing dragons dogma 2 with the Lenovo legion 7i 2024 both in performance mode and can confirm that the 4070 on the legion runs on par with the 4080 on the zephyrs with the legion surface temps on the hinge part back and rear sides are 15 to 20 c cooler. I had the 4070 version and fell asleep playing dragons dogma 2 with it on my lap, the burning pain woke me up, I packed it up and returned it to Best Buy so I picked up the legion 7i 2024 it’s white and it stays pretty cool it also has 32gb ram, Asus made a big mistake going with Metal Chassis, it can actually injure you this being said I ordered the 4080 version because I saw a review that the 4080 and 4090 version run cooler and more quietly because they use a vapor chamber instead of a third fan. But I still highly recommend the Lenovo Legion 7i 2024 in White with the 4070 and 32GB of Ram this 4070 version will be on par with the zephyrus 4080 version because of the lack of power to the 4080.

    Concise and balanced review.
    I'm surprised you got 14 hours on battery playing youtube - what level brightness was it on?
    Does it automatically switch to the integrated graphics when the 4090 is not required?
    How much does the performance drop on battery while using the 4090?
    Do the fans kick in when using less intense software like Microsoft Office?
    How does the fan noise and heat compare with the 2024 g16 of lower gpu, which doesn't have the vapour chamber?

    • @GLITCHEDZA
      @GLITCHEDZA  8 месяцев назад +2

      what level of brightness was it on? - This was at 30% brightness
      Does it automatically switch to the integrated graphics when the 4090 is not required? Yes it does automatically switch to and from the 4090 when needed.
      How much does the performance drop on battery while using the 4090? Apologies I did not test the performance on the battery.
      Do the fans kick in when using less intense software like Microsoft Office? Very seldomly. It is the middle of summer here and quite hot so the fans were on most of the time. But the silent profile helps a lot to keep performance down and fan noise down too.
      How does the fan noise and heat compare with the 2024 g16 of lower gpu, which doesn't have the vapour chamber? The fan noise is much the same tbh. While there is a vapor chamber in this model, the thinner design requires the chamber and liquid metal in order to cram the Core Ultra and 4090 in this. So you're getting the same heat and noise but a thinner chassis.
