    Harbor freight panels are great for experiments and learning the limits of just what a 100 watts can do. I like to hookup the battery to a discarded apc ups and run the TV and lights off it and see that it will power up these devices, and just how much power and time I can run after the sun 🌞 goes down. A large car battery will give you about 5 hours of TV and lights before the inverter shutdown. This comes in handy when you have to live with the occasional hurricane.

      I have mine hooked to a 5 battery bank that runs the lights in my shop, works fine, I consider these toys to play with, I looked at a solar system for my house, probably doing that in next year - I have a lot of stanby equipment, but its all based on generators (gas and propane), and can keep me going for at least a week, solar would be indefinite - thanks for subscribing!

    I do like the four lights that I got with the package from the 25 watt solar panel I do use them it does to keep my battery and they are pretty bright it doesn't fit my batteries all the way well then again I have 17 of them and they're not the only ones charging the batteries because I have two other sets of solar chargers charging the batteries with a lot more watts which also runs a few other things in my house but I don't got an inverter hooked up to my kitchen refrigerator because of 1500 watt will not run it but an 850 watt will run a mini four can refrigerator or probably even a 6 can refrigerator or maybe even a little refrigerator but it also runs my freezer chest freezer small chest freezer what you been around for I don't know 50 60 hundred years but my freezer is not old it's only a few years old so it's an energy efficient freezer just like my little four can refrigerator is kind of energy efficient well actually it's only like 6 amps or less but it also runs my TV my light my computer my internet the printer another computer or another laptop lights upstairs well lights that you plug into a plug-in cuz I don't get anything to hook up to electrical but I could actually cut into it and make it so it does I just rather get a fuse box and a cup to all the lines to a fuse box in them to power to the fuse box to run to everything separate from what the electric company has cuz I wouldn't want to backfeed electric company when I don't got permission to do that yet but my understanding I should get that shortly from now from a generac setting up my house with solar panels if they ever do come.

    One thing that I would like to see this guy do cuz I'm pretty sure that he has the tools to do it is if he buys another brand new Harbor Freight 35 amp hour AGM battery she should test to see what the actual capacity is and see if it from a full charge to being fully discharged is actually a 35 amp hour capacity or if it is something more or something less.

      here is an example - www.amazon.com/Wadoy-Disconnect-Harness-Connector-Capacity/dp/B07GZBPDRB - you buy one of these, cut it in two and splice in how ever long a cable you need, you should use the same gauge cable end-to-end - I solder in the splice - the key to search on amazon - 2 Pin Quick Disconnect Wire Harness SAE Connector - the solar panel kit uses these wire ends, but the one I have were made for ham radio antenna power cables - I buy them at a hamfest for 2-3 dollars a piece and splice in a longer cable to custom length - thanks for subscribing!

    Appreciate the video! I'll look into adding the RF filter.
    Have you used this solar charging kit while the batteries are in use?
    I'm needing to directly charge batteries on a driveway gate motor. It's no longer connected to A/C power & I was thinking about building a splitter connecter or using alligator clips to plug the solar panel kit on the batteries (together in series), while it's connected to the gate motor.
    I believe no feedback voltage issues but not positive & am not sure if it'll risk damaging the gate circuitry.

      I keep a battery bank connected to the solar kit all the time, and it powers the lights in my garage - the lights stay on 24/7, I leave the lights on so the batteries are always using power and recharging - crude system, but it works, the charging system does not allow voltage to 'back flow' to the panels from the batteries - thanks for subscribing!

    Wat is the lighting circuit rating for on output if I have 3 amps of led light am I going to fry that circuit board over time ?

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  2 года назад

      no rating is give for that in the manual, why is this important? its 300 watt controller, so 3 AMP should not hurt it, but the circuit board traces might not be rated for 300 watts, in which they could overheat, and the power rating of the voltage regulator is unknown, but HF provided 12V appliance output terminals, I would personally not have a problem connecting a 3 amp load to that, but if its multiple devices, make sure they are identical in performance, and dont daisy chain them, each one needs to draw power directly from the terminal - the math on this get a little complictaed - using round number, and the rating provided by HF - you are getting 18V at 100 watts from the panels, and you want to pull 12v at 3amp, there really should not be a problem, but at the same time, I would keep an eye on it -thanks for subscribing!

For this I'm thinking of either getting a lithium battery generator or using a car battery or multiples.

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  3 года назад +2

      it can supply the power, but you need a lithium batter charge to charge the lithium batteries - lithium battery charge also balance charge the batteries, no using a balancer will result in some batteries not being fully charge, and other being over charged and potentially ruined - if you want to charge lithium or lipro batteries, purchase an inverter and run an appropriate battery charger off the invert - Thanks for subscribing!

    I got two 45 watt kits for fixing a mower..if you hook them paralleled to mono panels it will start charging earlier..between the two kits theres like 75 feet of wire...lol..bell telegraph started with less than this..I'm thinking about shortening the wires to about 12 feet total...I bet they put out twice as much

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  3 года назад +2

      I think the wires are undersized, but its built to light weight and portable, I'm guessing they saved weight (and cost) by keeping them to a minimum - the panels are a compromise between portability and functionality - I use them for battery charging, I have a bank of lead acid batteries I keep as spares and the panels act as a conditioner - Thanks for subscribing

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  2 года назад +1

      if using the batteries to provide power, 6 gauge is recommended if you are going any distance, so I always use 6 gauge for pulling power from a battery, those are 12 gauge, charging batteries does not generate enough amps to warrant a heavier gauge, no matter what you use, you should be monitoring the cables for heating, thats a sign a bigger cable is needed - I've rarely seen anything larger that 6 gauge on DC voltage, I made these in this video - ruclips.net/video/Qd0jcJLAbCE/видео.html - Thanks for subscribing!

    • @snapwholeharborfreightreviews
      @snapwholeharborfreightreviews  Год назад

      that is why I do the videos, no battery is provided with the kit, you need some type of 12v battery, car battery or similar, such as marine battery, or a AGM battery, and the panels charge the battery, and you can use 12v DC appliances off the system or use an inverter (not included) to convert 12v DC to 120v AC and use household appliances off the inverter - the more batteries you have connected in parallel the longer you can run the appliances, and bigger appliances - a small refrigerator, a small TV etc, I would recommend you test the system before going on the road, like how long can you watch TV etc - thanks for subscribing! - btw, I use this system to charge a small battery bank (6 batteries) that I use to power lights for my garage, inside and outside - thanks for subscribing!

    Harbor freight has 14 gauge wire or maybe it's 16 gauge wire and will not handle 30 amps but that may not be a 30 amp charger that might only be a 20 amp or maybe it's a 10 amp and I just don't know it but I'm about to give it a test to see if I burn it out destroy it I also got another charger for them that is a 30 amp looks different they're bigger but the same size though oh no it is a few inches bigger or 2 inches bigger looks a little different looks like one of my other 30 amp chargers that I have on full capacity also looks like one of my 60 amp chargers that I have nearly on full capacity with 58 amps I'm running through it and my 30 amp I'm not quite running through it but I can't use a 14 gauge with it because it's kind of gets it really hot and starts melting the cord for charging the batteries not good and that's only when it's feeding it 25 amps but I think that 30 amp I have actually 29 amps or 28.5 amps to it would be more precisely what I have hooked to it I have a bunch of 100 amp chargers but I don't have the solar panels for it yet but I am ordering I know a lot of words I did make I was actually scammed on and I ain't going to get those because I should have received them already one gave me a fake tracking number which was an attractive number and I can't track it can't even give him a call cuz the phone ain't a phone number cuz I tried to call him and the phone services that phone does not exist so I know it's scammed by that one and I thought that was going to be a one I could really trust cuz I heard that name so many times but maybe it's not a business maybe it's just certain things are called that. I thought maybe someone actually built the business called that too cuz it would have been a really nifty business that would have made all kinds of money even without sales because that could have been a really trusted business if it was true and if it was really in the United States of America instead of getting a Chinese name from China after you make a purchase and they give you a registration saying that you paid for it but never give you anything in return like what you ordered. Wayne these games days our name all the 10 that I ordered from and all the $20 I know of that are scams but to tell you the truth anything that's under $100 that seems like a really good deal on the app store Google store is a scam I know one won't actually sell to you because they say they won't sign your region because they actually want to sell the product for what it's worth and you're just trying to get it out there you like that company and they do give the telephone number and they want you to call them to make an order not ordered over line and any legit company would rather you order it from them over the phone then actually online too cuz they want to make sure you're a real person and they want to make sure it's a real dress and they want to know a little bit about you and see if you could trustworthy or make payments if you can't pay for the whole thing and they wouldn't mind financing you if you're in legit but I won't make payments if I buy something I'm going to pay for the whole thing all at one time cuz that's the person I am I don't need a debt I can't afford a debt they're kind of little I think crooked and that might not be true but that's what it seems like to me.

    All I know is about those 25 watts solar panels that up to 100 w is I bought them almost a year ago when they were a lot cheaper or at least I would say $50 cheaper or a little more cheaper than that I think they were like $134 when I bought them or $129 I don't remember exactly it was $119 when I bought that set. All I know is that is not that many wattage it's not going to run in my house and I'll have to get so many of those I would have to more than cover my house to cover my water just to run my kitchen stove oven cuz it'll be more silly panels of 25 w then the top of my roofs can actually handle it can hold all the way yes but it could not hold all the solar panels because I don't have enough east to west south or north rooftop to hold all the solar panels I need of just 25 watts solar panels but I did buy one set of four I don't know what to really think about them they do not work in low sunlight like my other 15 watts or 18 watts do they work like a bigger solar panel that stops collecting a solar power after the Sun starts to set with my other 15 watts 18 Watts my blue 60 watts my blue 80 Watts my blue 150 watts was still collect electricity so I don't have very much trust and solar panels that can give 6.8 amps. Or that it doesn't cover the 3600 w that I need to run my kitchen stove oven which is electric and I will never go to gas cuz I don't have gas everything in my house is electric. Bounce about some of the 100 watt solar panels I might not be able to get all the solar panels 100 Watts on top of my roof that I would need I'm not sure but I know I can put them on the ground to enough I need to actually ride my house but then my yard be full of them and hardly any place to walk around or for the kids to play. But I wouldn't mind putting 100 watt solar panels in one row they said how well it does across my property in front of my other solar panel sets that is not quite enough power to run my house that might cover what I need for power because I also have 405 Watts solar panels about four of them that help out on the power still ain't quite enough power but with the 20: 100 Watt solar panels it might be enough but I think I would go with a little bit cheaper solar panels than 134 for a solar panels that are 100 Watts and or when it's on sale for $119 for 100 Watts and opt out to go for a different type of hundred Watts that can combine together to change the voltage on it and something instead of something I can't change it a 12 volt or something else without changing connections which I don't got all those connections to do that with I just buy a Philippines have the connections for something like I think it was $85 through a place a little bit closer to where I live at through tractor supplies if you find the app store with the exact same solar panels with different connections so you can buy them into 12 24 36 or 48 volts which might mean a little bit more to me in the future when I get a real inverter that I can hook up to my electric box and I know those 100 watt solar panels which would be 20 of them and with the solar panels I have would still not be enough to hook up to my electric box but I did find some 240 w solar panel I ordered one of them and probably in the week I probably order another one especially when that when I order that one the other one would actually arrive at my house within a few hours after I order it and I think right now it's on a really good sailor and that's the price of sun I'm pretty sure that's not the actual price of them though but I know I can trust this door because they delivered everything else to me and I'm just getting a little bit bigger and what I'm ordering from them see if they're order this and see if I get that and then order another one and then start ordering it by two and then order more of them as long as they keep getting delivered and once they stop delivering it when I order it I can go right to the store and tell him hey they didn't give me this what's going on when they said they're going to give it to me they didn't deliver it to my house but I'm pretty sure they will deliver to my house they've been doing it all along for most of this year when I got the app when I found out they actually had an app and when I was actually able to access it but I also got the app for other stores that I know that were also get the stuff but which I would actually have to go and pick it up from the store which I more trust picking up from those stores but those would be bigger solar panels not as big as my big solar panels but they will be bigger than 240 Watts less then 405 Watts that I have but it will be complimented through it and then I can hook it up into 12 volts 24 volts 36 volts or 48 volts but not all my solar panels I can do that with I know there's one other solar panel I can hook it up into 24 volts maybe 36 volt but I'm not sure I would have to look at the voltage to find out and I only have two of them thinking of you better off getting the 240 watt solar panels of 20 of them over 20: 100 watt solar panels a little more than double the output and might be enough to run my house but maybe not enough to run it in the winter time but I can always add more solar panels on the way through but I have to also by the inverter and the batteries for the inverters that you need for it I be more better off that way then buying 100 Watts all together but I will buy the blue polar solar panels for the difference of the morning sun for a 3 to 4 hours of charging when the black ones will not and the two to three hours at night charging when the black ones will not but the blue solar panels are more subject for my area than the black ones cuz they work a better on low light and a black ones will not work on low light.

      if you find out who actually manufactured the voltage regulator, you should ask them to change the design, I don't know much about epilepsy, but sounds like you should talk to your epilepsy doctor and see what can be done for that - good luck - thanks for subscribing!
