      @@arichansmontoya3477 He? He never killed any whales. He, Rockefeller was not a whale killer. He put the whalers out of business by under cutting the price of whale oil with refined oil. The use of Whale oil was replaced with kerosene. Say something else stupid.
      Rockefeller's crime was working with the Democrats to break up unions. Government getting involved with business is fascism.

    If it fuels our lives then make peace with it; Alternatives will make their way naturally. The painful truth is that anything worth having will always have a market. Give a choice, don't force it; Time will be deciding factor, no one gets to dictate terms.

    • @adamnicholes1002
      @adamnicholes1002 3 месяца назад

      Well, it was sort of forced regardless. Whales were becoming endangered so whaling was starting to become illegal. Then kerosene was developed and sold. Which used the anti-whaling as a means to push their product. It's always force man. It's how the market goes. Besides Rockefeller was a piece of utter shyte. When Colorado made it law in 1911 that the workers would only work a 5 day 40 hour work week, Rockefeller threw a fit. Used a "detective" agency (Baldwin-Felts), to "persuade workers to work more. By gunning then down in their homes when they were eating dinner with their families. By drive by no less. They had to dig fox holes under their dinner tables to survive. Also no Ford saw the writing in the wall, it was becoming vastly popular. So he decided to grant all of his plants a 5 day 40 hour work week. So he wouldn't face scrutiny. He didn't invent it. That's just wealth worship.

      The problem is that alternatives will only make their way through naturally when it is cost efficient for the corporations to bring them through, i.e when the existing infrastructure reaches the end of its life. That is not cost efficient for society as a whole because of climate change, but corporations will not face the costs, the average person will. That's why we must act

    Camphine or Camphene I don’t remember how to spell it was also popular and cheap but lost to kerosene when it got even cheaper. A mixture of ethanol and turpentine. Ethanol for the fuel, turpentine to make it burn yellow and very bright. It all came down to economics. Kerosene was very cheap, one of the reason kerosene tractors and hit or miss engines lasted so long in production even when superior fuels came about.
