Army after a concert filled with screaming and singing. At the end of day you can’t Evan say Hello anymore and the boys hitting higher notes than my grades-
Hi guys - disclaimer here... I'm not a great singer. But yesterday I couldn't sing vibrato... today I really can. This video helped me but it wasn't the answer (and I now get why vocal coaches would say the vibrato in this video is not real vibrato). I read a description by a vocal coach and this one thing they said helped me to crack it 100%. Have you ever tensed up your arm to show off your biceps? Notice how to flex your biceps you also have to use your triceps. It's like, one muscle pulls one way and the other muscle pulls the opposite way. When you do this, notice how your arm quivers... trembles... That's exactly what your vocal chords need to do. It's very much like the feeling in the back of your throat when you're about to yawn. Try and relax the rest of your throat or it won't work. Also you have to push the air out with your diaphragm, not the top of your chest or it won't work. I think the girl in the vid is doing it the right way but she just doesn't realise as she got to the right way by doing it the wrong way of that makes sense? Anyway, please don't hate on me I'm not being a smart ass, I just wanted to see if I could help anyone else by sharing what worked for me 🎤 good luck!
I watched over 5 videos from professional voice teachers about vibrato and how to learn it and i learned nothing from that. I learned so much more just from you than any of those professionals. Your such a good teacher!
Wow. I've done my research for years, but this and the slow-motion video is what it took to finally understand what vibrato really is/how it really works.
Thank you thousand times ! I was searching for my vibrato for 3 month and the tips make me able to have a vibrato !! I'm so so happy ! Vibrato can be learn I promise !
I started this like around August last year nd my vibrato is getting somewhere, it's not completely defined nor controlled yet you could hear it developing, sometimes it outbreaks randomly but yhh this deffo works, just keep working on it nd magic will happen, plus drink alot of water Tysmm for this video it helped me alot:))))
Singing very short vibrato samples is nice, but what we would like to hear is you singing a full, traditional musical theater song. Based on your good quality singing at approx. video times 2:37, 2:56, 3:10, 3:18, 3:22, etc., I think you can sing this type of song well. For example, sing the song “Tomorrow” from the musical, “Annie”, and hold out all of the longer sustained notes using full-length-of-the-note style vibrato. Don’t add modern embellishments to the longer notes. Stay on the main sustained note and use your nice, medium vibrato rate (about 230 beats per minute?) on the longer notes. By the way, this is the way that Broadway superstar Lea Salonga (who is from the Philippines) sings.
U are so funny, charismatic and talented!!! Also, how did the copyright claims of ur intro work out?? U don't have to delete ur channel do u? I enjoy watching u so much!!

Zane you're so underrated girl.❤ I have a huge passion in singing. Other professionals teach in a very complicated way. You make it really fun i really love your way of teaching. Straight up gonna sub. :)
Well first I tried to do it and it didn’t sound right so I realized what she was saying about controlling it not by the face. Basically I first started huffing like five times then I decided to sing apra (idk if I spelled it right😹) so after I sang apra I tried to sing alittle low making vibrations to it. First it did sound alittle but bad but you get the hang of it eventually! The more you do it and play around with your voice the better! 🤗
OMG. THANK U SM! All my life I've lived thinking I could do vib(something) until I learned I was doing it wrong and kinda felt disappointed. So I wanted to learn how to do it the right way. TY! Sadly whenever I'm doing this I can only do it quietly.
The alteration in pitch with vibrato is not something you do intentionally by making it wobble (which is what's happening when you show the excercise) Natural vibrato happens when you are open and relaxed and breathing properly
I've been singing for 9 years and I haven't gotten a natural vibrato yet. I always have to add it in consciously. And yes I always sing relaxed, and using the right breathing. I guess I just hold notes too rigidly, but there is absolutely no tension in my throat or chest. Not sure how else to explain it but it would be nice to get this magical natural vibrato but I haven't been able to do it yet. When I sing for others they complement me on my vibrato and says it sounds really good and natural but they aren't professional singers, and neither am I.
Your videos are so helpful for those people who struggling to learn singing like me haha. Sometimes i tried to give up coz its really hard for me to hit the notes. you know, when i hear my self singing, it sounds like im crazy. Thank you for keep making videos like this and now im nearly to find my own and natural voice .
This is sooo funny. When I am being silly, singing opera, I have perfect vibrato. When I try to sing for real, I cannot get close. I can do the whoa thing pretty good too. I guess I just need to keep practicing. By the way, your video was more helpful than all the pro music coach teaching videos. Thanks!
This is the first vid of yours I found looking for more exercises to help my student learn vibrato (mine developed so long ago I don't remember how I personally learned), and this is perfect! What a clever exercise. You're awesome! Just subbed! Also, I started on RUclips teaching voice from my own experience and now this is my job :) so you could absolutely be a voice coach!! I think you'd be great. So many people can learn so much more from someone like you who actually went through the experience and figured things out for yourself - it's very relatable and this is so helpful! Thank you! I'll be checking out your other vids!!
Hey! I've been finding a lot of videos and it didn't work that fast. But YOU!!! YOU HELPED ME IN JUST A MINUTE SIS!!!! THANKS FOR YAHH!!! i can sing vibrato but in gentle and not to long.... But now... You helped me a lot! I will continue this until i got that muscle memory thing!! THANKS!
Wow!!! This is the first video I saw of yours and it's amazing...... Literally amazing!!! I didn't even know I could learn this much from you!.... You are amazing! I don't know why people disliked this video? You said you are not professional well you seem so!
thank you for actually getting to the point without talking for 20 minutes straight! edit after 5 minutes: IVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR 5 MINUTES AND ITS ALREADY FORMINGGGGGGG ILY❤❤
This is not something I actually tried myself, because I somehow learned to do vibrato too long ago to remember, but it is a technique to do vibrato using airflow. Anyway, if you have a clue where your diaphragm is (right under the ribcage), you should put one hand on it and, while you sing one note, press on it rhythmically. Maybe it's just me, but while I appreciate Zane's vibrato, I find air vibrato to be more subtle and natural for some reason. So yeah, I hope what I said gets the point across, I'm the worst at explanations and instructions in general.
I have 2 different ways how to do it. the first one it's like you switch between 2 pitch up and down. and the second way is kinda like turning your volume loud to low quickly using your breath. which one is the right way? help :/
I don't think there is a "right" way. I always heard that vibrato is "natural" and should come with technique, but I really think both methods are valid. Just try both and choose the one that feels the best.
Faking your vibrato can develop into a shaky goat-like vibrato. This techniques are good and useful for people that are still developing the voice. It all comes down to practice. Use vibrato for practice, but if you are not ready to do it "live", then don't, because you will have the development interrupted. Vibrato can really help to moderate the airflow when you're running out of hair. Also never do vibrato with your jaw or your throat. Just as a good singing technique, vibrato can be done with your diaphragm. Try pushing air with your belly, you should feel it jumping. Practice, don't fake it. If you can do Rr's, do them, they will help relax your vocal cords and will help you develop a more natural vibrato. I am not a singing coach either, but these are advices from my own singing coaches over the years. Classic training can also apply to more contemporary music styles, so please go to a singing coach if you want to develop a good and healthy vibrato.
I have the Smule app on my iPad. If you (anyone reading this) don’t know what it is, it’s like singing karaoke with another person’s prerecorded song. One of the songs I did was On My Own from Le Miz. When I played it back I was surprised to find I had a slight vibrato in part of the song. I didn’t even realize I did that until playing it back. That would mean it was a natural one since I wasn’t even trying to do it.
Omg thank you so so much..just after 1 try,i can listen to vibrato in my voice. You are a godsend. thank god i found you. And yes you have helped me more than the professionals. Thank you so much❤️❤️😘

Also, I started on RUclips teaching voice from my own experience and now this is my job :) so you could absolutely be a voice coach!! I think you'd be great. So many people can learn so much more from someone like you who actually went through the experience and figured things out for yourself - it's very relatable and this is so helpful! Thank you! I'll be checking out your other vids!!
this is the best video on how to sing vibrato I’ve ever witnessed. very helpful. can’t wait to develop this naturally ;)

I had Sooooo Much Fun Watching This!!!
I think ill be having Vibrato and Alienizing myself at the same time
I was JUST looking for a video like this! Zane you really come in clutch
Mia E same wow!
Messing around a lot with volume changing will definitely help you find it as well!
Imagine practicing this and someone walks in 😂😂😂
Faking your vibrato can develop into a shaky goat-like vibrato.
I love your videos, they're so amazing and the editing is on point😂you make a good impact in the world, very positive. Keep doing you girl!!!!

@casper ghost Thank youuuu😍😍😍
It sounds like those memes where you distort the voice-
😂 *sorry*
You're very entertaining. This is my favorite video of yours. ♥
