I love Carissa Broadbent's writing. I really enjoyed Daughter of No Worlds, and the second book in that series is my favorite. I hope your reads are going well.

Ooh, I really enjoyed Squire, hope you'll love it too. I just wish it had one or two volumes more, since I felt the story and themes could have used more space.

I loved Blindness! I still think about it 10 years later and the author won the nobel prize for literature. Whenever you are ready you should check it out! And you get used to the weird writing style very quickly.

Hi Katie! I didn’t finish Pod so I can’t be sure but I would check content warnings bc I think it has some topics you’ve mentioned in passing you don’t love reading on the page!
Excited for your upcoming romance vid!

YES! JUST FOR THE SUMMER!!!! I’m reading “Raiders of the Lost Heart” by Jo Segura in the fall. It’s about two rival archeologists who go on an Aztec expedition if you’re wanting an adventure/“treasure hunt” type of story!

Speculative recs: Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson. This one has a complicated friendship and kids that burst into flames. Also, The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa. This one has a world in which the government outlaws an idea-like "birds"-then everyone truly forgets that thing ever existed. But maybe some remember...but it's not allowed.

Recommend you Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames for 500+ pages. The audiobook is so good, it's adventures, funny, fast paced (I devoured the book in two days) oooor Guns of the Dawn by Adrian Tchaikovsky also has an amazing audiobook. So good, so intriguing, so immersive.

The two speculative fiction authors I can rec off the top of my head that I haven't heard you mention are Rivers Solomon and Cadwell Turnbull; I've especially enjoyed The Deep and Sorrowland by Solomon, and for Turnbull I have only read a short story anthology that he edited & contributed to (Many Worlds) but I adored his writing in it and have heard incredible things about his full length novels!
