    Dude I was not expecting you to answer. I was weary on the dusting the motor part myself. I added sea foam into the oil as directed on the can then used spray in the intake hot soak like it said on the can and super strong gas mixture. I did 3 hot soaks total and changed oil, ran last weekend and didn't burn anything. it was identical to my other motor. I could not believe it. knock on wood that its fixed! I have had a leakdown done last year and they said it was acceptable i think 10% or 12%. dealer basically wanted to rebuild. Thanks man I appreciate the help! always love the shows and videos man!

    2019 Suzuki 300 making oil. My mechanic switched oil and thermostats. He didn’t take it apart but he’s talking might new Powerhead. Haven’t heard that before. I’ll try cheaper things before that since my extended warranty might not cover this issue. 150 hours on engine. I didn’t do the break in

      New powerhead! Yeah, idk if I would go that route, try and run it harder and check the prop, the thermostat change was to bring the temp up, so that's the right track

      @@TheBoatersPodcast yea trust me I’m not trying to go new Powerhead route Rpm at wot 6000. I’m gonna change oil today. Tomo run it hard. Hope for the best. The mech starting talking Powerhead I’m like let’s check some cheaper options first

    Absolutely fantastic video! I just bought a Sportsman 234 Tournament with a Yamaha VMax 200 SHO and it's great to know what can cause issues and how to avoid them.

    My 2021 Yamaha 300s made oil for the first 100 hours. Everyone said run them hard to break them in so I did. At the 200 hour interval, the oil is at the full mark, but not past it!

      Running it hard is one of the worst things you can do to a brand new engine. I’ve seen brand new car engines throw a rod through the side of the block because people think abusing them when they are brand new is somehow good for it.

      @@Tevon93 I did the break in period by the book, and was told by the Yamaha dealer to run them hard to mate the rings into the cylinder walls so they wouldn’t make oil which is exactly what Aaron says in this video. I’m at 200 hours, they don’t make oil and I never threw a rod. Even if I did throw a rod, I’m going to try my hardest to do it in the first 3 years because I’m still under warranty.

    I just purchased a 200 SHO I hope my hot foot prevents this problem from happening. Now I’m considering a higher pitched prop from my 19p rev 4…

    So once it's glazed, you're basically screwed?

    • @TheBoatersPodcast
      @TheBoatersPodcast  4 месяца назад

      Depends lol lots of different models and scenarios. If it's really just glazing, usually you can run em hot and burn it off with a carbon burn, but if it's like an early 2000's 3.3L with the plasma-fused cylinder walls, hard to find one of those engines that doesn't have a fuel dilution issue. :/ so not necessarily lol

  • @djl0fne
    @djl0fne 5 месяцев назад

    If the computer shows you followed the break in process and you still have the fuel dilution issue and you tried the Yamaha solution several times and still have the issue have you seen Yamaha cover this issue under warranty?
    Is the customer responsible for this design flaw ?

    I have a 1999 Evinrude 50hp 4 stroke(Made by suzuki) and the overheat alarm goes off only when I'm about to put the boat on the trailer. Sometimes after a long run and sometimes not. It seems to be pumping water most if not all of the time. New impeller, new water tube grommet and water pump gasket, I put a hose to the water tube and it has great pressure all the way to the thermostat so I don't think there is a blockage anywhere. It is very weird that its only at low idle and neutral about to put it on the trailer. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Making oil? Dumb terminology. Diluting oil is more accurate.🤔
