Me, as a South African, pausing to read:👁👄👁love you Em... Not everyone living in "townships" doesn't have the means to move to more "proper" settlements, many people, thriving where they live, are there because that is where their roots are, there is no other or "better" place to call home.

Have you considered fostering dogs? Give them a break from shelter, fit your schedule with no long term commitment & you could have the companionship & anxiety relief.
Would absolutely love to hear more about your experience in South Africa, especially from your “now” perspective. I had the privilege to go to South Africa (Johannesburg, Kruger, and Cape Town) with Girl Scouts last summer and the apartheid/segregation just tore my heart apart. Grateful to have a chance to learn, see, and meet the people that live in the townships but felt very similar to you… being the “privileged white American tourists”.

I don’t have adhd but this is exactly the way my brain works when I’m talking. My best friend lives in England and he calls my brain a “ box of frogs.” Which I love! 😊

Jordan is amazing! I totally recommend it. Plus, if you manage to go soon, you can see Petra with low crowds. And since tourism is a huge part of Jordan's economy, and it's down like 90% (because most tourists only go to Jordan as a package with Israel but no one is going to Israel now for obvious reasons) everyone in Jordan is extra grateful for you traveling there.
EVERYTIME I see these I watch on lunch breaks or dinner because that’s how I FaceTime/ catch up

For the tailbone issue, have you tried a standing desk? You can get things that just go on top of a normal desk to convert it (rather than buying a whole other desk). It really helped with my back problems. Sitting also was making me more tired

Dutch girl here, abortion rights is also a topic here in the Netherlands. Although abortions are done here, having an abortion is still in the ‘criminal law’ (don’t know if I’m saying this correctly). So, not such a big issue as in the US but still a relevant topic!

I think it may just be her trying to be her own person outside of Rachel. She got most of her following from working with Rachel, so I imagine she would like her current content to be about her.

Don’t be ashamed to be poor when you were growing up Emily. When I was growing up in the Philippines my dad left and my mom took care of my and my brother as well as her dad. My mom had a business she we survived for 10 year with the money she is making it put food on the table and a roof over our head. When my mom and brother went to the Philippines in 2022 my brother called his brother in law that lives there he has a driver so he can take them wherever they want to go. Please are grateful for what we have Emily. You should too have fun in Florida Emily

As a South African- we still have townships but with a better healthcare and education system. We also aren't as sensitive to white people going ro townships and giving kids food and playing with them, we try to see all as equal as possible, and by making such a big deal about being white and privileged kinda makes it much more of a separation between races which promotes the current discrimination we face in our country. Also as a South African working as a Zoologist in nature, I don't think you should worry so much about a video years ago riding on an elephant.
I think its unnecessary to continuously point out that you know that youre priviliged. There's no need to feel guilty; enjoy it.
