      I was a literature major/ education minor and literacy tutor at an elementary school (also a site director at some point) and also never had time when I was in college! Just because my major was “ easy” did not mean I didn’t have 500 pages a week of reading and papers to write on top of my job. Humanities majors are just a different kind of hard to STEM majors (I started off in STEM and realised it was not for me.)
      I was also suffering from quite a few mental and physical illnesses so I often had to take it easy and it was hard to do “simple” things like eat food. I honestly don’t know how people manage to live such organised lives lol. I was just as much of a mess while doing my teaching Master’s and student teaching year , and that was even more intense!

      Yes true, but only for people who have a reasonable appetite and are already fit. If you're trying to lose weight, counting calories is literally the best thing you can do. I iust ate a half pot full of moong dal and it was less than 400 calories, if I would've eaten bread instead, it would've been much less volume of food and wouldn't have been as satiating. I would rather be "obsessive" about calorie counting than stay a fatass and never get any b1tches (sorry went a little overboard with that one)

    This is the kind of thing I always promote to people that want to go on a diet. Often times, dieting completely burns people out & they go back to eating like crap. When you learn to cook well portioned meals with whole foods, you do not need to count calories or adopt a strict diet. A lot of healthy meals are really delicious when you make them right. No need to count calories, just don’t stuff your face with crap. I grew up such a picky eater and in the past few years have started to enjoy a lot more foods, anybody can do this. All it takes is some effort to learn a few recipes, grocery shop & cook. It’s really not hard at all.

    Why are people just so obsessed with being part of the “i never count calories and I eat whatever i want but never gain weight” trope?
    People want to be so politically correct nowadays that they make it seem like a taboo if you consciously watch your macros and caloric intake. Like you have some kind of toxic diet or food obsession.
    But if you ask me, promoting the idea that everyone can eat whatever they want, whenever they want without any form of food restrictions be it on calories, macros, and basically junk and processed food too and still look lean is just promoting an illusion.

    • @shishkebabdb925
      @shishkebabdb925 Год назад +4

      From someone who counts their calories and macros
      This is not the only (and of course not the most “natural”) way to be conscious about what you eat. People have been living centuries without counting anything and it’s not like they were all obese or had health problems related to not measuring food.
      So yeah you CAN eat whatever you want because our bodies don’t only require crap stuff (we only eat for the appeal but it’s a brain thing) and if you are able to feel what’s good for you and indulge in a moderate way you will not become overweight. Plus, in our society often being “chubby” is seen as being overweight but that’s simply not true because weight has a range and you can be at a perfectly healthy weight with sum chubs but that’s doesn’t mean that intuitive eating doesn’t work. That’s just means that our bodies are different and not everyone is built with shredded mussels.
      Not every person who trains or workouts tracks their macros and (even if it requires sum nutritional knowledge) it’s good if you can achieve it.

      I dont really support it either, I've been counting calories strictly for like 3 years while I was losing weight and was focused on getting more muscle, but now I've reached a level I can safely say, I am the healthiest I'll ever be. After stopping for some time with the whole perfect diet thing, I've realized that as a 17 year old guy, it truly was really restricting me. In 3 years I learned what I had to, I dont have obsession with food from either side. I can eat whatever I want, but I simply dont always want to eat shit things, and pay a lot of attention to keep around 80% of my calories from a great source, but I simply dont count it. Also, being naturally kind of big helped me a lot since I can eat insane amounts of good foods while maintining a great bodyfat percentage and strenght level.

    I thought undergrads just ate pizza, burgers or food from the cafeteria.
    I am on a diet but I don't track calories: I just eat three healthy meals, walk for at least 30 minutes a day, drink at least 3 litres of water daily, eat at least 2 servings of fruits or vegetables and do 15:9 or 14:10 intermittent fasting. 😊

    This looks really good, I’d eat all of it! I love high-volume, but I also snack more than you & have coffee/dairy, and I think I eat more carbs than this by a good bit. Every body is different, and so are our caloric needs. What’s important is that you’re meeting your nutritional needs & feeling good physically.

    I find this a little odd on the eat what I want thing and not counting calories, you’re eating healthy already and all the meals have generally a pretty good balance of protein, vegetables, carbs, and got a sweet treat with the oatmeal cookies.
