Im just waiting for my V6 as a replacement of my Cerberus
I hope GPU manufaturers start making taller but shorter cards for SFF builds.
When are you gonna get your hands on a T1?
Comrade Supreme
The only way I can think of is submerge the whole thing in mineral oil
Can u make a video about how to swap the PSU fan of this build soon .
"This is how you attach a case to your ITX motherboard."
How about "This is when you install the PSU before you install the motherboard" Haha 😊
I would like to see a video where you swap the fan of the PSU to see if you can get it quieter.
@Man Dangerous? :D Danger is risk!
It needs to spin that fast to provide the needed airflow. Swapping out a more silent fan would address the issue of noise but might introduce another problem.
@@gchyll2 A high quality fan can create the same airflow with less noise tho.
@@gchyll2 That's not really necessarily true; there are countless examples of higher quality fans being able to supply MORE airflow, at LESS noise, than cheapo OEM fans.
@@gchyll2 it's a cheap industrial fan that's just there to do the job. My guess is one of Noctua's 40mm fans could do magic here and potentially even have higher airflow.
WOW! Just wow! Please make a follow up vid.
1. Swap the 40mm fan
2. Sleeve the ketchup and mustard cables
It probably just needs a low noise adapter inline for the PSU fan
@@oliverturner128 nah mostly a higher quality one. There are 40mm models from Noctua. The existing fan is really not made to be quiet.
Might still be loud with noctua... Those PSU's are typically found in rackmount server cases where low noise isn't a factor and the controller just pumps a load of power to the fan. But I think you're probably both right, low noise adapter and a better fan will be the best bet.
... And 100% sleeve the cables! 👍
@@techie2643 he could also hook the fan up to the motherboard and control it that way.
I would just use a can of black Plastidip to colour the cables and the visible part of the psu
Wow and the case is relatively affordable.
I might even choose it for my next build.
L A That noise though, it’s like a first gen PS4 during load, could be mistaken for an airplane.
L A
Why you need low power?
@@Athasin Can be fixed by changing the fan in the psu. Will be like 10x quiter with a noctua
I would buy it but i dont have balls to swap the fan in a psu
@@kot3405 You could probably pay a professional to do it, or buy a more expensive psu. It'll cost more but it would be quieter
Yes! I've been really excited about this case, I've been hoping for a back-to-back sub-4L case since the Hutzy XS project was abandoned. The Velka cases are very niche, the fact OptimumTech reviewed this one only solidifies its SFF credentials further. Nowhere else can you get high quality detailed reviews of hardcore SFF enthusiast stuff like this.
only if you like hoover sound in your room
@@montazownianr1 if you're willing to fan swap it won't be so lpud
Would you consider doing a follow-up video/tutorial on swapping the fan with the Noctua 40mm and comparing noise results?
Really need a follow up video on replacing the 40mm fan. I spent 2 hours trying to pry my flex psi open only to be left with a bloodied and unopened psu.
I'm really impressed with Velkase product line. They have amazing innovative designs at affordable pricing. My next build will be in one of there chassis for sure.
Wow Finally someone made a small case that is not overpriced. Thank you Velka, of course when i go to look they are out of stock. Thank you for the Video Optimum Tech.
can try preorder the next wave of cases, I just managed to secure a Velka 5
@@carlzhuo24 I preordered a Velka 3, and then I got a PSU from geeekstore com shop custom-flex-atx-modular-psu, but the PSU is a 170mm long and I know i will have to cut chop rebuild on the Velk. The PSU will com with colored wires and 300mm long cables.
soooo why cant an actual case manufacturer sell these, instead of these small startups that are overpriced or sold out
Because these require a lot of trial and error as well as lots of design time, most people don't want an itx pc, so most case makers build atx cases
Are you kidding me?!?
I just finished building my own velka 3 this day! Great to see it getting some spotlight!
how are the fan noises?
@@0AcE013 fantastic. Almost completly silent when idle. Gentle fan noise from gpu when gaming
Noctua fans on cpu,gpu and psu. 2 Velkase 80mm fans on top exhaust on absolute slowest rpm possible to help the natural convection dissipate the heat.

do you think a simillar setup but with a ryzen5 3600 and 16 gb ram would work with the 350w psu?
i'm attempting my first build and i want to get that case but i have no clue how to work out wattage
You should check out the Lone Industries L5. It can only fit low profile graphics cards, however it allows for 70mm high cpu coolers and its only 4.6 liters.
I have this case in silver. I’m using the enhance 600 watt PSU and it is so much quieter than the 500 watt FSP PSU I was using. Worth a look for sure.
My biggest complaint in this case is how thin a lot of the metal is, especially the motherboard tray. I ended up covering mine in electrical tape because I was worried about it flexing and shorting the motherboard. Still, I love this tiny case and it is hard to beat for the price.
Awesome ENP-7660B
Glad to see another boutique SFF case review! I suppose the SFF community has chosen you as one of its main touchpoints to the wider world. I've seen the Velka brand around but haven't looked too closely. As my needs and tastes shift, the lengths I'm willing to go to have been changing as well. Looking forward to the next parts
Nice to see somebody producing this, six months ago I had to design this exact case but myself just to have this small of a footprint. Any mini ITX power supply is going to be loud, noctua 40 mil fan is the only option.
My new favorite channel. Soothing voice, super smart tips, yet easy to understand. Really nice videos, super professional. And I don’t even own a single PC!
I think the top fans are supposed to be configured as exhaust.
Indeed. Since every other fan is intake.
Nope they add positive pressure, the case is mostly vents so it doesn't need exhaust vans
Yea, I think the power supply fan is the only exhaust fan in this video. No wonder it getting very loud.
@@ifchen2 Actually, the PSU is exhausting inside the case, part of the reason you need those 2 fans.
thats what i was thinking when i saw the fans,
all fans are intake, in addition to the psu one.... exaust fans will be more then welcome
If possible in future videos maybe, please include links to every component used. Ex: motherboard, ram, cpu, ect. Would help very much. I know how to build them and most of the components, but I have a hard time understanding what cpus work with what motherboards and if the ram is compatible. Great video, and have a great day!

1U PSU are meant to be used mostly inside servers, this is why they are pretty noisy, but as you said if you replace the FAN with a Noctua you will be just fine.
And btw, this is one of the most impressive like/dislike ratio I've ever seen [1.1K/6 atm], congratulations, you are doing a relly good job ;)
I built something similar years ago in a Silverstone SG05-LITE case not much bigger (10.8 liters) for just $40 (doesn't require a riser cable, and can be used on its side with some feet to allow air to the gfx card). Used a 500w 80Plus Gold Silverstone SFX-L PSU, and a it fits a full-sized gfx card - mine is actually 2.5 slot and still fits, and it's got such a beefy 2-fan cooler that the fans almost never come on and are quiet when they do. Used an AIO water loop instead of trying to fit an air cooler in and the rad just sits at the front drawn in air that help cool other components even as it dissipates the CPU heat. Single fan gfx cards are going to be noisier, as will a smaller fan on a standard CPU cooler instead of a large one on a radiator (which will also probably not need to run as fast).
Lol! "There was one big problem..."
Always love Mini ITX build
Please do a follow up to this with a PSU fan swap. I would love to see how much it improves the sound levels.
This is it.. This is what I am looking for. So minimal, so chic, so simple, so small... but perfect...!
I built in the Velka and found that the 10X80 fans on top were the real problem causing a lot of noise. By removing them my Velka wasn't nearly as loud. The benefit of decreasing the case temps 5 degrees didn't seem worth the fan noise so I am using it without. Also have a delidded i9900 (non-K) in there.
Is that a... PC built in a power supply???
I just finished building in my Velka 3, and my noise levels are significantly lower. I went with the FSP 500W Flex ATX PSU, and the fan inside does not turn on until 90% load. I have very similar hardware, but instead have a 1660Ti. I don't come near the PSU max, and it keeps the SFF PC nice and quiet. No fan replacement necessary!
Nice to see new companies making beautiful and sensible products!
I used the 40mm Noctua fans for my 3d printer fans. They got crazy loud, so I swapped them and the Noctua ones are dead quiet. Definitely worth it!
If I can find a 2070 at this point and they fix those minor issues, I'm all over this build... 👍😎
I like this guys channel, hes one of the few people on youtube that builds itx pc's that uses that z390 asrock board everyone else uses the asus board lol
I have been following development of this case on SFF. I really like the look, design and price of the case. My problem is the Flex ATX PSU, no way I could live with those noise levels.
100% agree with you
Enhance enp-7660b an actual quite flex psu.
Just wanted to add, I do own a case like this. I swapped the fan with noctua and it made a huge difference in sound.
Same PSU as well?

"Velka" is a Finnish word and means debt. :D
I love it! I'm about to buy the Ghost S1 once it hits the european market next month but this looks really good.
It can't beat the Ghost S1 from a design perspective though imo. The Ghost is just so refined and perfected. This looks more like a "machine", the Ghost looks like a piece of furniture.
I would love to see a more refined version of this or a new smaller case similar to this from Louqe .
What about NUC 9 case with a NUC 12 motherboard,12400, and a unique 4080 covered by VEGA 3060 ti COOLER? Yes, we have made that happen. It's crazy. 4080 drops from 335 watts to 240 watts, timespy score drops from 28000 to 26400. And of course, a replacement of nuc 12 CPU fan is also important, I recommend Lenovo 360 ultra cpu turbofan.
The Enhance ENP-7660B Flex ATX power supply is basically silent and would work very well for you in the Velka 3.
Finally a case I can afford! Thank you, my man, thank you! You just earned a sub ;)
I still think that ~15L is the smallest system that will be truly powerful and quiet without compromises on components. A simple rectangular box of about 35x27x15 (DxHxW) can have up to 300-310 mm GPU cooled by custom loop with 280x45 mm rad. Even with only bottom intake (everything else glass/aluminum), 3-5cm clearance from desk does the gob at 30C ambient for i7+1080Ti. Guess i9 or any ryzen + 2080Ti will be fine too. Using slim 30mm thick rad with reference GPU height (which is very common and logical for liquid cooling) will allow to downsize the case to under ~13L.
I'd like to see a followup where you try swapping out that PSU fan!
Nice build. So clean... go with a custom cabling with a DC/DC psu and external brick!
I would love to see a re visit to this where he de solders all the un necessary cables
slick and stunning video as always ! the case is to drool for
can you make a quick video with the noctua fan on that psu ??
Just casually flexing his 2060 Rtx super on 1:57
Just put my Velka 3 together. Such a nice, light case. Definitely not a walk in the park though. I struggled mostly because I used my own 30cm riser which may be a touch longer than necessary and was quite stiff.
Anyone here use the Velka brand riser cable? It looks much more flexible and easier to wrap around tight to the motherboard.
ITX builds are LOVE!
wow nice case but that Flex ATX fan noise is a complete dealbreaker
6:49 I really thought it was gonna turn on
I'd love to see a follow up video where you replace that 40mm power supply fan with a NF A4-x10 FLX. As well as undervolting the cpu and gpu. Interested to see how finely tuned you can get this little pc!
The best channel for ITX enthusiasts!
This case looks amazing it's everything I have been looking for! I just wish I found this case before I bought a evolv shift case, I was going to order the mesh side panels for it when they were available but I preordered this case instead and will sell the parts I don't reuse in this new case.
Very nice.Power supply that size is the problem for sure, but that power must be cooled somehow.External one will be the best.
I'm using an A4 SFX case and I prefer to place it vertically if possible. It looked weird with all the cables jutting out on top but it granted easier access to the rear ports and allowing the case to be placed much more closer to the wall.
AWWW man! That power supply noise was just unfortunate! It's an otherwise fantastic build.
low noise isn't something a server PSU is designed for. Nice case, but they should just go for SFX rather than chasing a few milliliter smaller.
Or external brick like a laptop
Bruh, its totally possible to keep the flex fan from kicking in. Just make sure total power draw doesn’t exceed a certain percentage of the rated 80+ power. And when you successfully make a whisper quiet gaming rig with one of these, it’ll blow your mind.
@@oldymcstinkysocks4686 Certainly not with this config. The option is very limited. Better just opt for the larger Velka 5.
Looking forward to the Velka 5 review!
i do believe there are rooms for water cooling even inside this tiny case space, but that need serious custom parts.
custom pump, custom water block probably integrated to water distr-panel.
think about how corsair one did their case, use negative pressure to archive the goal of only using one fan to cool 2x 280 rads.
ok maybe this case is still too tiny, but under 8 liter, this should be doable, fullsize gpu and itx + full watercooling. stil waiting for that day.
(currently using 7.2L cpu watercooled case zsa-4 with full length GPU and SFX psu)
make an update video on the flex psu with noctua fans please
am im just sitting over here using my 100lb atx super tower as a desk itself
I really hope they revise the case a bit to let you secure the GPU to the case with proper mounting points. That is my one concern with how this case is designed so far.
The noise is interesting as I have an L9 in my ghost build and it is unbelievably loud, even in desktop. I wouldn't be surprised if sorting the PSU fan just lead to being able to hear that nightmare
@@nickjacobsss if it's faulty then happy days! It's super, screamingly loud
The first thing I would do is replace those countersunk screws with ultra low-profile socket head cap screws. I keep a bunch of that hardware on hand because of my CNC router and 3d printers. It would drive me absolutely crazy otherwise. I don't think that sheet metal is thick enough to do a proper countersink.
You should check out the Flex ATX from Enhance (enp-7660B). It is regarded as the most silent Flex ATX due to it having platinum efficiency and high wattage capacity. Unfortunately, with all of the praise I got for this, I rarely see anyone covering a major review about it that is why I am not sure if it is worht buying.
It has limited availability and getting one is making it more expensive
I want more! More! Make more videos about this pc please!
Could you please post a link to all the parts in a list? I was thinking of making something similar and wanted easy access to parts i already knew worked
@8:35 just cut of the cables which are not needed ! (seal the ends of course)
shoulda moved gpu up and given psu more room so you could add some sort of horizontal mount + fans, and maybe squeeze in an extra 2.5" drive at the bottom then.
I'm building something similar now, also 4l. Also swapped the little fan to noctua and it's quite as it can be :)
The S4M can fit the Zotac 2070 mini in a brick-less build. Josh has a vid on that topic. I wonder how much a fan swap on the FSP unit would help... but the small fans on the HDplex aren't bad at all.
really excited for the Velka 5 review, thanks!
What is smaller than the Ncase which does not compromise due to 1) noise 2) heat throttling
Depends on your components. All of that can be achieved in this case
you might be able to move the graphics card up, mount the psu horizontal, then save a tiny bit of space in the bottom. remove top fans and add 40mm baby noctys to vrm to make a velka 2 that is actually the size of a power supply ;P
We need a fanless Flex-ATX PSU... I build inside a FX 4.7 and had to decide between a Flex-ATX PSU or a fanless internal 200W HDPLEX ACDC/DCATX unit. Luckily I went with the fanless unit. But now I'm limited to 50W for the R5 3600 and 125W for the R9 Nano.
I'll stick with a Fractal Design Node 304 which is cheaper, supports 2 slot video cards, supports Mini-DTX & Mini-ITX, and supports Tower CPU Coolers.
... and is also huge
@@peepiepo Its just big enough to fit all those parts I listed without being too big: pcpartpicker.com/b/Kfmqqs
Thanks for the review on quite a cool case. The S4 mini doesn't work as well in tower mode without feet.
I've ordered the Velka 3, the PSU you linked (seems to be the best 400W Flex ATX unit out there) and an NF-40x10 FLX fan for a swap-out.
I'll get a 5mm shroud 3D printed to add to the fan.
I'll be using mine for a portable workstation. Looking forward to putting it together.
Hi! Any luck with fan replacement?
@@SergeyMaslatsov I have the PSU and the Noctua fan, but haven't done any testing yet. (The rest of the system is still 6 odd weeks away).
oh my god, ive been waiting for a case like this forever! and its only 120? OH MY
Would it be possible to fit a Hdplex 400W combo in there?
There are several options to fit both a 2070 and the Hdplex 400AC inside the Skyreach 4 mini. Zotac, Inno3D and Galax are some 2070 that fit with no real mods needed.
Just pre ordered it in gray 😮😮 nervous but excited!
I’ve been eyeing this case for a few weeks now. Hoping to use it for my next build. Also hoping to use the upcoming Gigabyte 2070 Super mini, though I’ll probably swap the fan with a Noctua because I’m sure it’ll be a jet engine. I’ll also swap the PSU fan probably with the Delta AFB0412HB-F00 (the Noctua 40x10mm fan has almost 1/4 the static pressure of it). I may also clip the unneeded cables and heat shrink the ends. I’ll also need to use the Enhance 600W Plat PSU because it’s one of the few with more than just an 8-pin plug for GPU power.
I normally prefer something larger in ITX for higher end hardware. But I really like this case. With that size I'm willing to compromise a bit, 3600X & 2070 mini will safice in something I can take anywhere (even on plane trips).
Something like this might be in my future next year.
Nice video.
Please make another one swapping the power supply fan, and with custom cable sleeves.
Awesome to be able to pack so much power into such a small space.
God damn, every time I think I've maybe found the case I'm looking for there's something wrong with it. No front USB? Why the hell not? Really too much of a stretch?
Wouldn't using the top fans as exhaust be better?
I think external PSU here is a way to go here.
Or better yet, get the Velka 5, which has SFX-L PSU support. Well worth littlebit bigger footprint (but still small),
but can house a normal size graphic cards (more choices) and SFX standard PSU.
You need to use seasonic flex atx instead FSP. I think noise results will be much better.

I took apart a Lenovo laptop last night. Co worker gave it to me to mess with. Her daughter used it in college and it was headed for the recycling. After opening it up and taking out the memory and ram, I had a thought. Was the idea for M.2 drives taken from laptops?
Do you mean was it inspired by mSATA/mini-PCI?
The idea for M.2 was to replace the mSATA/mini-PCI connector with something that could accommodate a PCIe x4 connection. They knew not everyone would want to buy the more expensive NVMe drives, so they made the M.2 interface compatible with SATA as well.
Beyond the raw performance improvements, they also wanted to fix mSATA's main limitation, that being its size. So, M.2 can have drives from 42mm to 110mm.
It does work very well in laptops, but I highly doubt it was its sole intended purpose.
Grey-man, thanks for the info. I’m still new to this. Did my first build about 6 weeks ago. I’m 34, and missed a lot of developments. My pc has the nvme version. When I opened the laptop, it was something I saw that looked familiar.
Linus had so much trouble _doing_ in this case. What did he do wrong this guy did right?
