I freaked out when I found out Pokémon duel was THIS
HyperCubeWolf as soon as I saw that it was TFG I was hype.
Same!
I saw dantdm play it. me: MINDBLOW
ikr
I was looking for this comment
Are you telling me
that pale white abra I got when I was 5
which I broke the same day I got it
was actually rare as hell??
Yes.
Gallade6349 LOL
Gallade6349 Regret just hit you like a sack of bricks didn't it?
So your saying you could have been a millionaire?
I just cried inside
The funny part about the spinner luck is that a caterpie can beat a rayquaza if rayquaza hits that red space lol.
@@originaluseername And you know what lad?
*You are completely correct.*
@@originaluseername I bet you're fun at parties
@@originaluseername Actually, it wasn't pointless, as it gave an indication of just how funny the op found the funny part.
Without the lol, others were left unsure if the funny part was hilarious, or merely worth a chuckle
i’m soryr
i’m sorry
Huh. Ya think this was remade into Pokemon Duel? What an *original idea!*
No, that's impossible. I haven't seen a * single comment* about that...
forgotton until January 24, 2017.
Came here for the exact same reason, cheers buddy
John Slender same
yep lol downloading it now
John Slender this game is back as a app pokemon duel is sooo fun i finally can play pokemon tfg
True I shocked.
You spin me right 'round baby, right 'round.
Like a record player right 'round!!
Couldn't resist. :)
I want to send out a mega swampert to strangle you right now.
XD
Nah, me and Swampert are bros.
Lol. Same, but seriously bruh. Don't do that. Ever.
mushroomdude123 ugh... that *figures*
Wow, this conversation took a wierd *spin*.

First time for me when these type of comments are actually true.
And the other 0.1%?

These figures are sick as heck. I'd collect these instead of cards....
It was good that they adapted this into pokemon duel witch wouldn't be as expensive to make
Now that it's digital the spinning cannot be cheated at either
Double Chance?
I know right? And its legit fun too. Being in a digital format pretty much solves all the problems the TFG had. ^^
Who here actually use their Plates in about 33% or more matches?
Yeah I agree.
they should bring these back as actual figures without the spinning
+tom rogers YES! The sculpts and poses on them were badass.
tom rogers who knew you'd be talking about Pokemon duel
tom rogers yes. As just collectables
Fun fact! I don't remember exactly which thing it was, but one of the promotional TCG packs for Kyogre in the ORAS expansion had a Primal Kyogre figure in the exact same pose (even down to how the water splashes) as the Kyogre Trading Figure... I noticed this because I have the primal Kyogre figure and saw Chadtronic opening a Kyogre Trading Figure on one of his old TFG videos and realized they were the exact same pose
Pokemon Duel: *Exists*
Pokemon TFG: Am I a joke to you?
Also Pokemon Duel: *Is going to end in 2020*
no 2019
BOI IF YOU DON'T-
WAIT WHAT
It died on halloween 2019
WAIT WHAT!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
wa
They could have opted for a single die (a 6- or 8-sided die would have worked) created for each Pokémon with the same probability for attacks, misses, etc. as the spinners. That would have satisfied the figure collectors, but kept them applicable for gameplay. I would have loved it.
No
spinners don't really offer anything over more old tried and true methods, a D10 paired with cards would be perfect
Just so you know, this was revived in the app Pokémon Duel.
And then canceled in 2019 :(
I came back to this video for a reason.
Pokemon Duel.
But seriously, it's been 2 years that I knew about this.
I knew it since it came out ;( I used to have a Kyogre.
Hey dere Miguel :3
TheGamingCheese oh hey Cheese! Long time! :D
Yep :3
Miguel92398 5th Year Anniversary Same here
So this is pokemon duel but in real life
Sherwood's Bomberman Yes
L! Lyn. Yeah
I was thinking that
Me to. And I was looking for this comment
L! Lyn Pokemon Duel was based on the tfg
It's like the app Pokémon Duel
Davy L. No it is actually the app
They made the app to save money on the figures
That's cause it is
Correction, the app is a callback to the tfg
The app is just a refined version of the old game
I had no clue this was even a thing, but now I want to play out really badly. This could make for a good Wii U game if you think about it too. Like amiibo could be used as figures to play with or something. I dunno, just a thought
Haedox I think u might be on to something Baedox
That is such a great idea. Nitendo hurry up and make this a thing
Haedox Oh god, then they would have to make an Amiibo for almost every pokemon, Nintendo would have to open their own chain of stores if they wanted to do that... on second thought, that would be awesome! Make it happen Nintendo!
*Pokemon Rumble U*
:0 pokemon amiibos!!!!!! (More pokemon amiibos other than smash bros)
OMG THIS IS WHAT POKEMON DUEL IS BASED FROM
Yup
I was thinking the same thing when I watched this!
i know,
THIS IS LITERALLY POKÉMON DUEL
I also love the figures
I was about to comment that until i raced to the comments oh you already did
Pokemon duel is shutting down and I'm here watching this video all sad as history repeats itself...
I like how almost every comment says how it inspired Pokémon Duel.
Galaxy _ that’s because it did??
There is now a mobile version of this
H u h
pokemon duel
Wow I never knew about this game. Wish I would've gotten some of the figures. I bet they are hella expensive now online :(
Eh, kinda. You can get a lot of the figures for $8 and under each on eBay.
Gameorama91 I got some of them a while ago but they broke so easily ._. . There was no fun in owning them because they were back then expensive
Gameorama91 me too
ALIPSN oh thank goodness, I'm not the only one who broke them easily by mistake when spinning them
Gameorama91 Same here.
"Dungeons and Dragons miniatures: Canceled in 2010"
welp, looks like everything in my local game store is counterfeit then
They still making minis just for the sake of rpg minis but they stopped supporting the game nobody ever played that they were supposedly made for. Just like Pathfinder minis game and that fantasy X-Wing.
WotC is very bad at supporting games that aren't Magic or D&D rule books. Dungeon Command was great but it didn't immediately make as much money as Magic so it got canned. At least they're smart enough to keep the Adventure System games in print even if they take half a decade to make a new one.
I saw this video about a month ago and now I am on a full on hunt for these figures. I have about 20 now, most of which from the 3rd set. I love how random the pokemon choices and unique the sculps are!
They should re-release this. It sounds awesome! I'd play it. I mean, I collect the cards (And once played it against myself...), and this'd be awesome. Like, they could make blind packs similar to the card booster pack that contains 2 figures and a pack of cards, or just card packs themselves. They could sell 2 board (Or mat, doesn't bother me) types; one for more casual play, and one for competitive play. The attack rings could be customizable with different attacks, and instead of luck based spins, each player took turns using the attacks on the base until one of the Pokémon was knocked out. The rings would just show what attacks that Pokémon had. The attacks on the ring could just pop out, and be interchanged with the other figures. They could be traded, as the name would suggest, along with the cards and attacks. The cards could be played in battle to either help your figures, like Potion or Defender, and some could work against your opponent, like putting the Pokémon to sleep or confusing it. The figures could be used for playing the game, or just collecting, like many do with Pokémon cards. Themed boosters could be released, similar to Steam Siege with the card booster packs. Several different attack rings could be kept, and the figures could be removed from its ring and put on another, so you wouldn't have to get out the attacks and put new ones in. I mean, the figures would come with a set attack ring so they can attack when the game is played. I am out of ideas now, so you are blessed in this way. I barfed out way too many ideas then intended. But it does sound like a good idea, right???
Mystical Soda I'm not sure if you already knew this but they made it into a mobile game called Pokemon duel
You know you can buy them on ebay they are cheap
So Pokémon duel before Pokémon on mobile
Time to 3D-print the unmade sets.
Connor Jacob that would be awesome
Let’s try and do Pokémon duel in real life, I come up with that idea
Pokémon Duel: Figures Reborn
RIP
THEY NEED TO BRING THIS BACK D:
Oh i see what you did there...
It makes so much sense that it's weird how they haven't done it yet..
MrPizzaGuy i know the feels. i use to love dungeon dice monsters but that got cancelled all too shortly
Sword Of Monarch It already was a video game. It used a technology called Thinkchip, and it was awesome. But it got discontinued due to shoddy marketing, and the fact that the gen 2 system wasn't compatible with the gen 1 figures and vice versa.
I agree with you so much
Imagine a modern Pokemon figure game like skylanders.
EnlightenedAce So... Amiibo?
TheGamerFromMars Just because it has a couple Pokemon figures doesn't make it a Pokemon game.
Heck Amiibo isn't even a game in itself, but just accessories for other standalone titles.
EnlightenedAce With 3d battles in which you can move around the stage
EnlightenedAce Research Pokemon Rumble U. Nintendo already did this a year before amiibo.
Chris Nutt And it was awful.
Just like every Rumble since the 1st one.
They brought it back it's now called Pokemon duel
And its gone
R.I.P Pokemon duel
you will always spin in our hearts
Nooo Psyduck was one of the cancelled characters! D:
A Duck That ducks...
+A Duck I swear, no matter what channel I goto, I'm bound to find you in it
A Duck I saw you on a pewdiepie vid...
OH MY GOD ITS A Duck
The new app Pokemon duel is just a remake of this lol
I had to rewatch it to make sure, but it totally is
Well actually my friend in 7th grade sold me like 6 of these for like a dollar each! So I gladly bought all of them and they're displayed in my shelf until now.
Do you wana keep them? Lol
Watching this in 2019 and just realized this is nearly identical to Pokémon Duel
Daaaaaaamn, and they had Natsume/Sabrina
GSDAkatsuki I saw the Sabrina and i was like, "Holy shit I need that right now."
GSDAkatsuki i know a girl who had a Misty figure, only because she's a fan of the character
Ebot75 Hope Nintendo allows a Sabrina Nendoroid to be made. They let a Shirona one be made this year.
GSDAkatsuki Why do you use their Japanese names?
TangerineOmega I'm use to their japanese names as that's how I first knew them. I only know their american names after the games come out.
If Bakugan can have a tournament scene, I don't really see how this couldn't considering the things never opened and, if you missed when rolling the thing out, your turn ended.
Get gud, that's all I have to say
"Warhammer can be up to 100$ per side"
You gotta up those numbers. Those are rookie numbers.
its possible to ahve an army of 100 dollar, tis only a 500 point army and msot games do play1500, 1750 or 2000 indeed
where i play it's usually 2500
Oh, so that's where pokemon duel came from...
Imagine this
Pokemon wiiu
Every Pokemon has an amiibo, some more rare than others, like legends
This game would be like the coliseum and gale of darkness games but with custom character options
The amiibos would be your Pokemon in the game, so you'd have to buy them in order to progress, the game would come with a card for a free one of your choosing however, it would be limited to starters only plus pikachu and eevee.
Also blind bag Pokemon amiibos as a cheaper cost and a lower quality, causing kids to do what they do with the cards, trade them
This would also mean randomized stats with every tap, so say you want to try and get a better nature, reset that game and slap that charmander back on until you get the one you want and save it.
Also this data would be saved to the amiibo and could be taken to a friends house for multiplayer battles. This would also mean that maybe an amiibo that worked similar to a memory card would be used to have your trainer in your friends game, maybe it looks like a generic female or male figure or just a trailer card
The blind bags would be cheaper but also less quality than the pikachu figure for smash
And similar to how there was limited edition ones, there could be shinys too
Since it's a blind bag you could feel that you may have gotten a Latios but you pull it out and it's a shiny! Whattttttt
Weirdo idea that I just got at 2am thought I'd share it
I would buy a wii u
Id just buy all the Gardevoirs so no one else can get them
That's basically like skylanders or Disney infinity, and it would end up becoming a pay to win game, and it just wouldn't work
Basically, Pokemon Skylanders? As long as its a proper pokemon game(an RPG) then... I guess...
Lvl100weavile Yeah! It's mariotehplumber!
Okay. They look fun but true, it's expensive. I want someone to make an online version. no rigged spinning, no costs of expensive figures, ALL THE FUN
qaz123123123123 thank you for wishing Duel into existence
Get pokemon duel
qaz123123123123, rigged spinning? It's called skill, learn it scrub!
Had to do a double take but that Rayquaza TFG pic is from my collection website! that's awesome glad I could help the video lol
I love how it says, "Game: Skylanders Swap Force" in the description.
These figures are actually well sculpted and still look fresh and new today. I never knew about these till now. In my opinion it seems like a fun game, although what if they incorporated these figures to the Pokemon Rumble series. Think about it, if they were used in Rumble U or Rumble World (since the 3DS can now can read amiibo figures) it would've made the game more interesting and probably great marketing. But that's just my opinion. :D Thanks Jwittz for showing us fans some lost Pokemon History.
Bring these back with amiibo functionality(while not actually being apart of the amiibo line), drop the spinner gimmick, keep the awesome quality of the figures and build either a new and fun figures game to get in on what is now a nearly empty market or a skylanders-like game around them. I think this could sell. People go completely bananas over amiibos. Give people special edition figures of Misty, Red and Cynthia and they'll go ape.
POKEMON STADIUM 3. I WOULD ACTUALLY BUY A WII U FINALLY FOR THAT.
Sadly mobile can't tag BUT YESSS POKEMON STADIUM 3 EMAIL NINTENDO SEND THEM MAIL ANYTHING TTO REQUEST POKEMON STADIUM WITH AMAZING FIGURES
Yaassssss. Also it can. You just use +, like this: Shaun Clark II
Yes, this game but digital with amiibos, so that the spins would actually be random, and there could be multiplayer games online, or by bringing your amiibo that you EV trained to your friend's place to battle.
Daedalus 27 That.... Ruins the entire point of the previous conversation. Drop the spinning gimmick. It's stupid. Make it a separate line, but with same quality in design and paint jobs. Anything from that, that builds from nothing. Other than the EV training. Which in my opinion, is also stupid. Kinda ruins the fun for us casual players.
7:11 instead they should have encouraged people to practice spins. That could have been part of the technique to play the game.
they made this a mobile game pokemon duel
Pokemon duel is literally this game.
Now I want to collect these figures.
WAS THIS NINTENDO'S PLAN ALL ALONG!?
Probably,Most likely,Absoulotly,For sure
They made a game of this! It's called Pokemon duel search it up its the exact same
thespooksterman I didn't know jeez don't have to be rude about it 😒
It's 2020 now and I still have the Charizard and Treecko figures from the first set that came with Red. They broke off of the spinners years ago, but they still look great. Definitely better than a lot of the Pokemon Minifigures from earlier in the games' span, but those ones still hold a special place as well.
There is another Pokèmon game, that a lot of people don't know about. I briefly mentioned it, in my Pokècollection video. It's the Pokèmon, flip the chip game. During the time of Pokèmon Gold and Silver, there were a lot of chips, that came with Pokèmon figures, Trainers and all. Each chip had up to 3 stars, (which were the highest amount), and some, had a low as, 1 star (which was the lowest). They also had some Pokèflippers, to flip the chips with, hensing the name, of the game. You and your opponent, would place the Pokèmon chip down, with one star facing up. You can either flip at the same time, or one at a time. The one with the highest stars would win. You can also put extra chip, on the top of your flipper, as your secondary Pokèmon. The game rarely caught on to the public, and was discontinued, just before Generation 3. If you have these flippers in your home, then you have a rare and valuable game, that very few Pokèmon collectors have.
Still faster than Brawl
Project M isn't brawl. It's a good game, not brawl
True, I just think it's much worse the melee, project M or smash 4. Brawl is still a pretty good game.
What did this video have anything to do with Smash Bros?
mushroomdude123 was joek
Ah gotcha m80
This game is actually available on the app store and it is free. Ot has the golden moves and everything. The game is really pretty and super fun check it out.
*cough* almost everyone knows *cough*
Sabevsgames Shhhh I was like superr tired and didn't realise this was from a year ago.
All they need is a seperate spin base for the current MonColle figures
and this might go on
Wow, some of these figures are insanely beautiful. I wish Pokemon Duel would rely a little less on in-app purchases, it was great fun for a while. It's just too much gatcha.
I'm realizing that Pokémon Duel is literally this game, just in mobile format.
they brought the pokemon TFG back as a Mobil app today
thespooksterman How was that telling u that he was stupid?
Welp, with all the “Pokémon duel’ comments, I can officially say that this comment section has not aged well, and that we’re back to square one on playing the TFG
RIP pokemon duel we will miss you
Someone should start a petition to bring these back.
When a pointless 40k mention is made, Alfabusa is near to make an equally as pointless comment.
***** And your Legion shortly follows to also make equally pointless contributions.
Me:Wait the TFG...
My brain:the f***ing game
Me:wow.
I realized that when I was 4 I had these, but I`m pretty sure they are ripped apart now.
Is it just me, or do the poses and quality on these seem better than what they're doing for amiibo.
Nice seen
Dylan Storm Yeah but these things are flimsy as hell. Way too easy to break.
TheCrabMiner Oh,good to know, I've never owned one
Holy... So the crystal figures are rare?! I opened two of the Random eggs, and got 2 Crystal Charizards in a row around 8 years ago. The exact ones in that picture. Not knowing what the figures were actually for, I've kept them simply among all my old pokemon things.
Would these figures be worth anything if I sold them?
Check ebay
All you see he becomes a millionaire and goes like what is this RUclips trash?
***** apparently a pearl one would be 50 dollars
I wish they had done more with the TFG, as I remember playing the Demos of this on my PC, and I had much more fun. I am glad Pokemon Duel brought this idea back into play.
For some reason of the third generation Pokemon trading figures is hella common in 2020 but the first and second generation are really rare
I just bought 12 figures from the 3rd wave, but I can only find a handful of the same ones from the first wave. Do you have any of them yourself?
They have an app called Pokémon duel that's the same thing
the mobile version was lit
You mean Pokemon duel?
7:40 Solution: (Player "A"s turn)
Player A holds down piece and closes eyes.
Player B sets spinner position.
Player A spins before opening eyes.
I somehow got one of these out of the box in some vintage toy store. it was heracross and I still have it this day looking cool
omg this is a mobile game! I had no idea that this was a physical game! It's called Pokemon duel.
I just want these gorgeous figures.
Duel duel duel We get it people!
I loved these figures, and I got a good chunk of the original run. Would love to track down the harder to obtain figures.
I remember seeing the unreleased sets at Comic Con years ago as a kid.
Maybe nintnedo could release a wiiu/3ds version and you would use the touchscreen to spin your figure?
Good idea. You should tell game freak and Nintendo that right now actually.
I remember seeing these at the back of a Pokemon World magazine like 8 years ago or something.
Looked awesome, but the only place I ever saw them sold was at an airport in Germany.
Matt Pepperdine I remember Pokemon World did an entire section on these figures, and I was quiet interested. Only problem was, i knew nobody I knew would play it, so i left it. Kind wish i bought a pack.
It may seem weird, but the TFG is actually one of my favourite Pokemon things. I love the games, but the TFG is something I still collect, and I'm coming up to 40 figures in my collection, and battling is SUPER FUN. I love coming up with wacky strategies like lining up Pokemon and having Diglett dig under all of them, and pushing opponents back with Kyogre and then blowing them sky high with Voltorb! The figures are also beautiful. My favourites are Charizard, Voltorb and Goldeen.
I heartily encourage people to look up the game. The Third Unnamed Set is quite easy to find and is a cheap and great way to start your collection and get a feel for the game.
I remember those. And I still have my Heroclixs. Great video.
They should re release these, they are really nice looking. I want Houndoom and Xantu
Wait, this is Pokémon duel.
Have you heard of the Pokémon Battling Coin Game? They were released in CD cases and only had the first generation of Pokémon.
Both players would have a team of Pokémon and pick one of their Pokémon and spin their coin, the highest damage would win the fight
Aaaaaa that's where pokémon duel came from
oh my god theres an android version of this i was a part of the beta for and completely forgot about its called "pokemom duel"
Night Exorcist gotta catch your mom
It's a pretty good game
Its not only android
@@pooperman7397 yeah, I believe it's also on Android
@@theluckygamer10 He's saying it's not only on Android. It's on Apple devices too. He knows it's available for Android
OOOOOHHHH i remember these. I had the Chimchar one. I lost the base though so now it just has a little stump on its foot lol.
I also had meowth as well.
Musomania27 I had Red, Charizard, Pikachu, Treecko, and Eevee
Hazel Ninja are they still in one piece?
Musomania27 i dont have them no more
Ah. I haven't touched mine in YEARS. I stopped playing with toys I'm like fifth or sixth grade so they're just collecting dust. To be completely honest, i had no idea that this figure game even existed. I thought the figures we're just regular action figures back then lol
This video inspired me to buy the Machamp figure because it looks incredible. This came it during my Pokemon dark period, I had no idea this even existed.
Now Pokemon Duel exist which is quite like the Pokemon TFG and even the figures in Duel look like the ones in TFG.
Why is misty wearing the exact same suit as Zero Suit Samus?
Coincidence
*_ITHINKNOT_*
lol i have some figures from the first set in my house idk why probably my older brother got them as a kid, tho they re mostly broken
Wow. Now I have to see if you did a follow up when Duel was released. Kinda hope they do Pokemon Amiibo now. Those figures are super cool.
i had a full deck back then it was typically the school’s gambling addiction... still have the figures but some of them wont spin anymore, luckily pokemon duel exists so me and my friends are absolutely mad lads at these games
the 6v6 IS Pokemon duel
i liked pokemon duel on my tablet but my tablet needs to be fixed
That Misty figure. 😍✨
there are bases and statues that simulate the "statues" in black and white starter boxes
Nintendo should plan a Pokemon TFG game for the Wii U that uses Amiibos where you can collect the figures, can store up to six figures on a team at a time. If you put a seventh Pokemon on the game pad, you have to choose another Pokemon to replace it with so you can't just download the Pokemon, and sell it on ebay to get an easy dollar. Then you can use use that team to play against other players either on an offline campaign to practice or level up your figure; or you can play online against other players with their traded figurines.
Watching this again after I got into wargaming (including Warhammer). Honestly back when I was a kid I probably would find this game cool but now that I’m older I feel as though Pokémon wouldn’t really work that well as a TFG or a wargame, BUT seeing an old FE commercial where they had figures of FE classes that people picked up and moved I think if they made a Fire Emblem wargame (or TFG) it would work so much better and I now want that)
So this is how Pokémon duel was made!
I remember getting the groudon one from a darkrai Lv.X tin way back in the day and having no idea what it was for but just glad I got a cool groudon figure. I’m sad to know that there was an entire game with many more figures and ultimately canceled
