The base set vibes are IMMACULATE, and you perfectly describe them here. I wish they kept up with a lot of these design styles. Base set Bulbasaur, Bill and Computer Search are probably my favorites from this set
I noticed you mention a couple of times throughout the video that Wizards had a hand in making artistic decisions for the set, but Base set existed in Japan for years before being introduced to other countries in 1999. Wizards didn't influence the artwork outside of the one change they made to Pikachu, which was later corrected
I'm a huge sucker for those "I slapped official art on a foil background" cards but personally Venusaur is my favorite. Also nice to see Janjo come to the Pokémon side!
ya know pokemon has stayed basically the same with only damage, hp, ability, strength going up and more balanced energy cost and the supporter and multi-prize rule box pokemon over the years where as in yu-gi-oh the game is so fast paced and modern archetypes power level making the old stuff need op support or an errata to come off the banlist
Yeah, and the stats barely matter anything. As everything grew stronger, so it mostly for show and not powercreep. Yugioh on the other hand is a completely different game.
What's your fav card from Base Set? Make sure to sub to stay tuned for the next video!

Bulbasaur was a close one! Top 5 for sure!
Awesome video, I can't wait to see more. Big fan of your yugioh videos.
Thanks! Hope you enjoy more videos from both channels!

There's just something premium about those foil backgrounds! Glad to hear from you!
well you learn something everyday, i didn't know the full orginal set only had 102 cards so couldn't posssibly include all 150 original pokemon
@@ZincMaster Yep! Weird, but true!

Interesting how that happens!
