I had a bad pc when i bought this game, when i get a better pc a couple years later i tried to play this but cd/dvd didnt work properly. Now i found it while cleaning and i realized i didnt know how was the game. Searched on google, found this video. Im sad that i could not play this game still today. It looks really great for an 11+ years old tennis game. I wish i could play it...
The problem is that the shot positioning is based on timing. So to hit into open court requires us to hit a bit later, and that split second gives the opponent just enough time to get to the shot. This is not true in the real game, as you can hit to a favourable position regardless of timing
Una pena q hayan desaparecido los Virtua Tennis, a mi gusto son los mejores juegos de tennis (entretenido como pocos, asi sea mas arcade la pegada, tenias que saber moverte), con todo respeto a los q vinieron despues tipo Top Spin, o actualmente el Tennis World tour o AO Tennis, el juego tiene mas de 10 años y parece tener mejores gráficas, eso habla de lo poco que se han esmerado los juegos que vinieron después.

Well, I tried both of them, and I found out that Top Spin 2 is WAY better. In VT you cant do anything wrong, it's just about slamming the Ball to where teh Opponent does not stand at that moment. I can easily win most of the Tournaments with my eyes shut, so do the most of you who have played Top Spin 2. VT is nice when you're bored. But when you want to play real chalenging Tennis, either go outside to a court with a friend or play Top Spin 2. VT is for Arcade Fans.
the only thing that I didn't like about vt3 was that they didn't make any unforced errors and they dived to reach the ball.... the diving part has been fixed in vt 2009 but not the unforced errors one....overall still a decent game
@dmny92 i disagree, i played both games back to back and thought that VT3 is better than 2009 on almost every level but the quality of graphics in between points (random cutscene emotions, etc), and the fact that in the world tour mode, youre playing random players with crazy ranks rather than the main character players (i find that more fun). otherwise, VT3 is for some reason more fun to me
@SomeHoboProductions Well, that was a first impression on the game. After playing a bit of career mode, I got to say that VT3 was better at everything, excepting those lounge shots.

What I was wondering is do the number of stars change in the banner under each tournament listing depending on how good you do?? Some have a platinum banner with four stars, others have a gold banner with three stars and so on.
No, if I remember correctly, as I haven't played the game in a long while, those stars represent the tournament difficulty and they do not vary based on your results. The difficulty levels are changing the AI toughness as well as the number of games per match.
Andrei Demeny Just figured out what the banners mean. If you win a tournament without losing a game you are awarded a platinum banner with four stars, lose one game, a gold banner with three stars. Then it goes silver and bronze, silver for losing two games and bronze for not finishing the final round of a tournament.

buenas, al querer editar el cuerpo del jugador la pantalla se cuelga y produce un error de "runtime visual +++" etc, otro usuario ha experimentado el mismo problema, despues el juego corre de lujo, si no editas el cuerpo no pasa nada y no tira ese error, muchas gracias..
@bilaljhondavid I'm using a HD4850 (512 MB) but I guess your card shouldn't have problems with this game... all i can suggest is to lower the graphic settings.
Another annoying thing about this game is the umpire calls. You have the option to set the calls to "world" meaning that when you play in France, the calls are in French. When you play in Spain, the calls are in Spanis... yet when you play in England... the calls are in AMERICAN ACCENT!!! :@
Most unrealistic tennis game I've seen so far... are u kidding me? Roddick was more on the floor than on his own feet...who throws himself on the ground like that 20-30 times a game on hard? And Nadal (who btw is my favorite player) is FAST...but he doesn't teleport from side to side from corner to corner

@MultiPaul96 Top Spin 2, Dream Match Tennis, Tennis Elbow. DMT has the best gameplay imo, but graphics and animations are pretty bad. Best PC tennis game anyway. It doesn't feature a rich roster, but it will do the job.

@liakosGusG The power of your shot depends on positioning and pressing the button as early as possible. A is top spin (normal shot), S is slice.
I remember seeing just a few dives (for the ball) in real tennis ever, but in this game there are several in every point.

No, Mario, this game has not multiplayer... But you can play against orther with gamepads because there are Minigames...

If you are losing on hard, you probably need to approach net more. I don't like serve and volley style, but it works.

Haha, yeah, it never learns. You can play in the same pattern everytime and at some point he just can't reach the ball anymore.
