  • Back to the Great Western 6024 King Edward I makes it's final run over the GWML to London Paddington before overhaul, running Pathfinder Tours 'The Bristolian'. Beginning at Swindon the perfect setting, 6024 pulls away from a signal check and passes Swindon Works the very place where the locomotive was built. A priceless unrepeatable scene that will soon be destroyed forever by overhead electrification.
EDIT As of 2018 this location has now been destroyed by overhead electrification.
To Paddington Station the terminus of the Great Western Railway every detail of this grand station can be seen as 6024 gracefully reaches the end of the line.
Unlike previous films I've made which is normally full-on action I decided to make this film more symbolic and more into the level of detail in historical areas, Swindon and Paddington were no exception especially for a Great Western locomotive.
These iconic scenes along with other sequences of 6024 are now featured in the OVP DVD '6024 KING EDWARD I (2004-2012)' see www.ovpsteam.co... for more details.
