Take an inventory of your food supply, personal care items, and household cleaners so you know what you have. You may have more to work with than you think. Cancel ALL unnecessary subscriptions. Declutter your house and have a garage sale. Pay your bills using Dave Ramsey’s 4 walls priority list: food, utilities, transportation, and house payment / rent. If these budget items are covered, your most important needs are met. Notice clothing is not on the list as most Americans have enough to meet their needs. Do tithe, but remember that the actual amount is lower as your income is lower. Praying for a new and better job!
Hi Stephanie and Brian, my prayers are with you both during this time. Continue to remain strong in your faith and know that God will never forsake us. He is the best of planners and I’m claiming that you will come out of this better than ever. Amen
So sorry, Stephanie! Y’all are both strong and I know you’ll figure this out. Sending prayers for you both and your beautiful boys and also that Brian finds a good job asap!
Hello beautiful friend, I am happy to hear that you are believing God for something better. Your faith will make it happen. Prayers for your husband that he receives the best job he has ever had. God has got your family! ❤❤
Thank you so much Debra, I appreciate you more than I can say. I still remember the day you subscribed to my channel and asked me if you could share my channel, your support means the world to me, im blessed to have u in my community!
Lifting you, Brian and the boys up in my prayers. My husband always says in the rough time to remember that "God is good All the time and All the time God is good". HE has you covered! ❤
Hi Steph. Ugh I’m so sorry about Brian’s job. I have faith he’ll find something soon. Praying for you guys. I would go as bare bones as you all can. You can call your car loan folks and request a deferment. They’ll usually move the next payment or two to the end of the loan to give you guys some breathing room. Hang in there my friend. Better days are ahead 💕💜🌸
Thank you Stef! Yes, I already made mine for this month but bryans is due the 25th so I'm going to call and ask what they can do. I appreciate your support!
Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your husbands job loss, it is tough out there regardless of what the fed wants us to believe. I pray he finds something soon and that all your needs will be met in the meantime!
In my opinion, No, do not cash out the 401k. He can get a new job. Cancel everything else. He can use public services. Sell anything you can. Return anything you can. Call his student loan and ask if he can get forbearance. If he doesn’t get a job in two weeks, then call your creditors and work something out. If he doesn’t have a trade like plumber or electrician, he should look into that.
Gm, thank you for the advice! We have not needed it as of now, we were able to get some income from doing a wood working project for my sister and he has been approved for unemployment. We were able to get our car notes and student loan payments paused so we're taking it day by day!
Stephanie, I listened to your video on my way to school and you and your family has been on my mind all day. Storms are hard to weather, but God has a plan and your faith in Him just shows how strong your belief is. Call your vehicle loan companies and check to see if you have the unemployment insurance benefits. Our vehicle loans are through the credit union and we have it. It never hurts to ask. I’ll keep you and your family in my prayers, but I already know you will come out of this strong. 💗
Thanks you Mrs P, I def will call and ask. Whatever we can do to not accrue debt while we wait for Bryan to get a new job. I appreciate you being here!
New sub! So sorry to hear of your husband’s job loss. Will keep your family in my prayers! It’ll all work out. God has something better. Keep the faith. 🙏🏽
I just found your channel earlier today and have been binge watching every video since your April closeout so this is honestly so devastating to hear about your husband's job, especially since the recent bonus!! Keeping him, and your family in my prayers Stephanie! 🤍🙏🏾 I love it here! 😊
Sorry to hear about Brian’s job loss. Apply for food stamps asap. I use to be an eligibility worker if you have any questions. Call all the creditors and let them know your situation. God is a faithful provider. He will provide Brian a job quickly.
Now, before you're destitute it is time to find your local food bank or pantry, get signed up, and start going. You can always give back with volunteering, projects, amd aides to them currently. In fact, depending upon your food bank and your ability to make do with discards between the kitchen and animals, volunteering might not be a bad thing. Your husband is handy and I have tomsee a food bank that couldn't do with some extra shelves or a project; you are not in a position to buy anything for said projects that is not scrap or elsewise discards (as needed, network in-person and on-line for needed items including the nails, screws, glue and paint)! You can also both donate and volunteer in the future too.
Please do network or get in contact with BudgetingwithTracy whose comment leads this thread to begin the process to sign up for EBT and the reduced/ free school lunch program. I don't know if Florida signed up for the summer lunch programs for kids or not and I dint remember how here they stand on kid's health programs. Most of these things take a bit to get started.
I'm glad you're feeling much better😊 Sending prayers of financial blessings for you & the family 🙏 I love how transparent you are with your real numbers for your budget.
Hi Stephanie. I’m glad you’re feeling better. Sorry Brian lost his job. But I remember the project where he built a deck for your sister ? where you showed us the pictures…he is very skilled so I’m sure he will find a new job soon. Consider the penalty if he cashes out his 401k. Those taxes are horrible. But I’m hoping and praying something will come up. 🙏💕
So sorry to hear this! Yes I stand in agreement with you and will pray that Brian will find a solid position with normal hours to allow him to be home and enjoy family time and that pays what's needed to support his family...amen...amen...amen...
8:22 Amen! I am so sorry😢😢 I was thinking about the bonus he just received and then they let him go😢😮 Many prayers that this is just a short trial!! 🫶🏼
Sorry that your family is going through this .. but it’s time to go into survival mode.. focus on your 4,walls and food only.. Apply for food assistance immediately .. blessings to you and your family
💜💜💜 Oh no my friend!!! Sending tons of prayers your way. I know all to well the fear and panic you are probably feeling. In February of 2020 my husband lost his job as a retail assistant manager for a very big retailer after working there for 11 years! But everything does happen for a reason. Just a few short weeks later the world shut down and with my parents being super high risk we didn’t have to worry about him working with people every day. We were so devastated when he was let go, but that day in March, we realized why. I hope that somewhat brings you comfort. I know it doesn’t cover the bills but I truly do believe that everything happens for a reason. Stay strong my friend. You will get through this. Also know that you can call your mortgage company, car loan companies and tell them what happened. Not always, but sometimes they will let you miss the next month or two and add it onto the end of the loan. 💜💜💜
Thank you so much Kathy, your experience is encouraging. We feel the same way, we know it was for a reason and it will all work out for our good. It's just hard when you're in it. We're trying to stay positive and be encouraged! I appreciate you being here!
Hey Stephanie. I will definitely keep your family in my prayers. Definitely keep up the faith. I’m sure something that is better aligned for your family’s needs will come along. Sending a big hug 💕
So sorry to hear the news but God is faithful and I stand in agreement with you. To tackle your car pymts, call the bank and see if they can move 1-3 pymts to the back of the loan. They may charge a small fee but it’s worth asking.
Lifting you both up. My spouse was unexpectedly laid off (2 months ago) and it can be an anxious time. Remain faithful and communicative😊. We are here as a community ~ ❤
Thank you so much, I'm just trying to remain positive and faithful. I believe everything happens for a reason and we'll look back on this time and remember how God made a way!

Hello l just came across your video and I hate to see your family struggling. Do what you have to do to survive but cashing out a 401k should be a very last resort. Its not the $15k that you are taking its the future value with compound growth and the taxes and penalties. I'm a CPA in California not just some crazy woman on the internet. If you can borrow from one or something else i would do that instead. Also it sounds like you are still doing fine right now. I would have to be literally starving to withdraw from a retirement account. Like no food in the home. Wait until you have absolutely no other choice and only withdraw what you need.🙏
Praying for you. Sorry to hear about your situation. Please reconsider closing out your 401k. If your husband is under 60 he is going to be heavily penalized with taxes and penalties. Go into survival mode…your budget appears to include many things you can put on pause including the tithe. The Lord will understand and when you are back on your feet take care of your tithe.

Hi, thank you so much, I really appreciate it!
Hi Kelly, thank you for your insight and advice!

I’m so sorry 😞 I’m upset that he finally got a bonus then let go😢
Yes, I'm upset we spent the money so fast. If we had just saved it we wouldn't need to withdraw the 401k.
Hi Rose, thank you so much, I appreciate your suggestions and will take them into consideration!
Try not to touch the 401K. Too much loss with taxes and penalties
