    I watched your video and did the same job on our 05 Camry, and your video was great help. I also get a rattle with foot on brake and car stopped in Drive. I think it’s the brackets at 11:05. If they hold the new exhaust too tight, the flex pipe can’t do its job. I am gonna put some 3/4” high spacers on those bolts and free up the lower bracket a little.

    • @InsaneOil
      @InsaneOil  9 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks for the comment. Let me know if the spacer helps. I only get the rattle upon initial start up...no other time during driving.

    • @dekunp
      @dekunp 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@InsaneOil actually, I got under the car again, the majority of my rattle is actually from the muffler hitting the car from time to time. The rubber insulators on the Toyota hangers are on square shafts - at first I thought they were seized in due to rust, but once I took it off, I was able to adjust the rubber part to give the muffler more clearance.

    ironically, my 2003 Toyota Camry was missing that same bolt/nut according to some paperwork I found in the glovebox from a complementary inspection. It says a new one was added and now just the nut is missing. I think this is causing a P0420 even though I have a good running engine. The downstream sensor voltage is all over the place on the live scanner.

    • @InsaneOil
      @InsaneOil  2 месяца назад

      I also had the P0420 error and found that the catalytic converter on the exhaust manifold had a hole in it ruclips.net/video/frRfQP4ueyo/видео.html --- However, after replacing the exhaust manifold, I would sometimes have the P0420 error code come back. I resolved it by replacing the gasket between the Exhaust Manifold/Catalytic Converter and the rest of the exhaust system, replacing those two bolts/nuts, and adding a small amount of Permatex Ultra Copper on both sides of the gasket before I put it all back together.

  • @selotacole5698
    @selotacole5698 5 месяцев назад

    Does the Japanese model have the same exhaust my Catalytic Converter was stolen on a 02 model, and looking at parts one source said its a different size. Does anyone know if that is true?

    Did you ever figure out what the rattling at start up was? I recently changed out the whole exhaust system and gasket. I'm getting a similar rattling on start-up and when going through the gears (automatic). After the car warms up there's no more rattling.

    • @InsaneOil
      @InsaneOil  10 месяцев назад

      I found some research saying that it has to do with the intake manifold. It said the mold at the factory during the manufacturing process had issues and to resolve it you have to replace the intake manifold. I don’t believe it is exhaust related though.

    • @albertbui4027
      @albertbui4027 10 месяцев назад

      @@InsaneOil I believe you and I installed the same exhaust from the same manufacturer. I was not getting any rattling before and will further investigate why it's shaking now. I'll look at the intake but I'm suspecting engine mount issues. It runs fine after 30 sec idling.

    @InsaneOil Hi I Have Some Important Questions About Installing The Right Parts For The Entire Exhaust System For My Japanese Made 04 Toyota Camry LE. My Vehicle Information On The Hood Said That It’s For An Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (LEV II) For Replacing An Exhaust Manifold With Catalytic Converter And Also Catalytic Converter Underneath The Car.
    1. Does This Mean That I Have To Use Catalytic Converters That Are California Emissions? Or The Catalytic Converters That Are Not For The Use In The State Of California?
    2. What Kind Of Gasket Should I Use To Fit In The Middle Part Of The Exhaust System? It’s The 2nd Part Where You Place The 2nd Catalytic Converter With The Exhaust Pipe & Resonator Before The Muffler.
    3. What About The Very 1st Gasket For The Exhaust Manifold With Catalytic Converter To The Flexible Exhaust Pipe Next To The Downstream Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor?

    • @InsaneOil
      @InsaneOil  3 месяца назад

      I believe the "Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle" designation is achieved by this system having two catalytic converters along the length of the exhaust system. I have included links to all of the parts in the video description...including the gasket that goes between the sections of pipe.

      1. California Or No California Emissions? Because Some Parts Said (C.A.R.B.) For Low Emission Vehicle 2 Or Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle? (SULEV)
      2. What About The Part Number For The Gaskets?
      I Did See The Gasket For The Exhaust Manifold With Catalytic Converter To The Exhaust Flex Pipe Near The Downstream Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor And Then Resonator Pipe To The Muffler. But Not The 2nd Catalytic Converter To The Resonator. I Just Couldn’t Tell Which One For The Middle.

    • @InsaneOil
      @InsaneOil  3 месяца назад

      @@elvingladney2476 The sticker on my vehicle is listed as ULEV (Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle). I don't live in California so I wasn't concerned with purchasing parts that met higher emission standards. I don't remember which gasket I used in the middle. I don't think that information was readily available so I purchased two of each of the gaskets from Amazon and returned the extra one.

    • @InsaneOil

      Great question. Two primary answers...#1 - I did this repair in conjunction with about 45 other repairs on this vehicle over this last summer so I had multiple videos going at the same time. and #2 - It was easier to get the camera positioned underneath the vehicle for some of the shots.
