I've always seen creativity as being more about the process than the product. In working with yarn, I often choose simple patterns to let the beauty of the yarn shine. Other times I use simple yarns to create complex patterns. I suppose that's my personal take on balance in creativity. Thank you for giving us something to think about.
Lol, an infp having to present things as Te/Se/Fe to get an audience's attention. I can feel the vulnerability where you think your Fi won't be valued to an audience/will be seen as weak... but actually it looks like inner power to me. This is such an interesting talk.
ackdood phew, I couldn't remember. Those two in particular get rid of everything that's not necessary and give an ease of comprehension to insanely complicated ideas. Reducing to simple balanced equations... that's beauty. I think that's why these two equations are so well known and not the application of them.
Daniel Laing Those are excellent points! I thought about that too. I would think in terms of academic Western philosophy there is a tendency to rely on Ti and Ne. The East does in generaly convey an introverted attitude. Sometimes I think of Japan as ISFJ with a big ENTP shadow (crazy inventions).
Leon Tsao i'm introvert myself (INTP) and i can have good stage personality for a short period of time once every 10 years lol if the topic really interests me. I think it's like the fist impression you give to new people you meet where they think you're an extrovert while you're not it's just like your persona or something.

While in the past we ought to choose what we is needed, now we need more and more to choose what we don't need.

Internal experience versus external output. Well put.

Quite an insight, well done. Thank you
LEON hwaiting...!

Interesting that eastern art reminded me of a math equation and a physics equation. e iπ + 1 = 0 and E=mc squared.
ackdood How do the equations remind you of eastern art, may I ask? :)

Western creativity Ne/ Eastern creativity Ni?
+AmazingMannyy +Type Tips
+AmazingMannyy Eastern creativity is Ni and Si as well. Western is Ne and Te.
+Type Tips Hey Leon great talk! are you INFP? i guess it wasn't easy for you to stand in front of an audience :D
+Ayoub Minen There is a thing about introverts which they can have a great stage personality, but are very quiet offstage. Think Freddy Mercury.

So basically: western = maximalist; eastern = minimalist
